For fitting gaskets, i recommend gasket sealant (unsure what it's called in English). It's a gel/paste you can apply to the gasket to keep the gasket stuck to whatever you're putting a gasket on. It makes fitting them a lot easier and they also help as an added seal.

How you noticed that need change pump seals? Find some bubbles in oil check hole? Or what??
