Three times I never go out on the water - Memorial day weekend, July 4th weekend and Labor Day weekend. I've paid my dues and can now pick my days and it's Monday through Thursday and yes I'm an old offshore fisherman.
It pretty doesn't matter where it is you boat in this country in the past decade or so. If you are a wise old school boater, you let the amateur, holiday weekend warrior boaters go do their crazy chit. Even more regular summer weekends get pretty crazy. Let them have the waters, especially, on the big holiday weekends. Going out the rest of the week is usually pretty chill.
I've seen plenty of pictures of people ripped to pieces by props and this girl is hanging off the ladder one slip from losing her foot. Captain should be ashamed of himself for allowing such stupidity to transpire on his boat.
Watched a friend take a prop to his shin near peanut island. Ended up airlifted out, leg amputated just under knee. The prop won't even slow down as it slices your bone.
Only used TowUSA 1 time and it was 6 miles out in a lake Erie Storm with 8ft rollers just pounding. They came out blasting through the waves in 45 minutes from the initial call. F$%ing heroes! Best cash I ever spent!
She and the Captain (The Gilligan), of that are actually facing some jail time, him for not stopping those spinning props and her, what is her Brain stopped working ?
I'm a new first time boat owner, and this channel has already taught me so much, mostly what NOT to do lol. Excellent content Alfred, you seem like a great dude!
The lady in the water with the motor running gave me chills. We just had a fatality last weekend in Arizona when a lady had her leg amputated from a boat prop.
Back in the 60s our crew could have given you a good Chit Show scene. Stratford-upon-Avon England had a big Shakespeare Exhibition on the banks of our little River Avon. Someone raided it one night and stole some of the exhibits. Next day, my group of friends and I were out downstream in our 18' inboard cabin-cruiser and found a giant 20' long polystyrene statue of Falstaff, a big fat character from one of Shakespeare's plays floating in the river. It was too big to get a rope round and boat-hooks would not hold it, so we breasted up alongside the poor chap and I stepped out onto his belly and held onto the handrails on top of the cabin. We slowly motored upstream like that to a boat club premises next to the exhibition venue, but it was too shallow for our little cruiser, so I had to climb back onto the catwalk and kicked Falstaff over to boat-club members who hauled him out for the Shakespeare people. The exhibition organisers didn't even have the decency to thank us.
As a new subscriber and a Canadian to boot, I am really enjoying these. Live in landlocked Alberta, but watching these people drive boats like we drive cars is amazing. I grew up on the west coast (Victoria) so I used to watch the boats docking (long time ago.)....not like today.😊 Memories.
Me too, from Alberta that is AND I lived in Victoria for 5 years. I have a buddy that still lives in Parksville. Over that time I worked on a fishing boat for a short while and in general, I got to watch how things happen around a marina or boat launch. But Miami looks like a completely different planet. For the most part all the people seem very nice but the whole atmosphere; The cool boats, the weather, the drama getting in and out of the water, and a bloody crocodile! It's fun to watch, in fact now that I've discovered this channel, it's hard to look away.
Young lady captain calling the shots is priceless! I mean, she is giving orders to adult men, so they know exactly what to do! Now we know why that PROLINE looks pristine!
Today is the day to honor all those that gave the ultimate sacrifice so we could enjoy the freedoms we have. Without their sacrifice we might not be able to have this chit show!
I didnt even bother going out to public spaces this weekend. You have captured many of the reasons why. I grown man lets a woman hang off the steps and pee while he just operates the boat with spinning props inches from her. How can people be so stupid??? This cant be real. Boats getting spun around in the docks, people getting arrested….its just not worth it here on long weekends or most weekends in the summer. I e been doing more weekend up North of Juno and Stuart and its nothing like this. People have brains and use them. At least we got to see that young lady do an excellent job of docking the boat. A ray of sunshine at Blackpoint…
Absolutely freaking insane thing to do. There is an almost two foot diameter meat cleaver spinning around at a few hundred rpm right next to her. If the cops had seen that, the boat driver would have gotten a nice big fat citation. If he had any beer in him, he'd been cited for Impaired Operation.
I saw that once when I was little . A boy had been hit by a prop and it had laid his calf wide open . Nobody knew what to do , and this was before 911 was a thing .
At the 5:00 minute mark with that lady in the water I personally would have yelled at the top of my lungs. So dangerous and they appear oblivious to the danger. Alfred please please be more assertive next time. I know some things are none of our business but this here is our responsibility to speak up. Not picking on you at all because it's the captain's fault just pointing out we need to be more vocal when witnessing events as serious as this. Carry on great camera work as usual.
Just so ya know. I got a friend that works for fish and game as a undercover boater. And he just watches all day ,everyday . For people taking illegal fish and lobster. Fish and game has many people on the water doing this. Sometimes his surveilance is done of docks at public parks. And when it comes to snook, he’s followed people all the way home, before they get busted. They wait to bust you on purpose. So they can take your boat, your vehicle, and your house. If you own it and are not a renter. It ain’t worth it. They got too many under covers watching now.
@GOT ARRR ? The people who died didn't make any decisions about all that, they just went where they were told. Also, they're DEAD, so why don't you take up your issues with someone more appropriate.
Once the police got off their boat you needed to stay on them, not pan back to the boat they just left. Follow the action. If the police boat was going to see any action the 2 cops probably wouldn't have gotten off. Just my opinion. I used to shoot news from a chopper in the late '90s. Love the channel and the dinghy series.
Bro! This whole weekend has been like a episode of the twilight zone! I’ve seen SO much crazy ass chit it had blown my mind! People are going nuts! 🤦🏼♂️
Twin inboard (or inboard/outboard) engines or triple outboards save the day. I would never go into big water with less than twins. Every boat I ever owned, except the very first a Wellcraft Scarab 23, had twin inboards or inboard outboards. My last 2 boats, a '89 Trojan 12 Meter International and a '92 Silverton 42 Convertible both had inboard engines, big block 454's in both boats. Even when I lost one side I was never stranded. With twins (or triple outboards) you lose one engine or transmission, you have a backup to get you home, albeit slowly. A generator also is very helpful if you do get stranded, you have house power for battery chargers, pumps, 2-way radios, A/C everything you'd need. Both of my boats also had a trolling motor and a dinghy on davits with a 9.9 hp outboard stowed in the cockpit. In a pinch even the dinghy will tow or help maneuver if you're in the alley with a bad crosswind and a vessel with a lot of profile that acts like a sail, pushing you sideways. Yes, you are absolutely correct, the 250$ for Towboat US is money well spent and peace of mind, as is the membership to Boat US. I never had to use it (the on-water towing) but knowing it was available made my time on the water less stressful. After I traded my Scarab 23 for a larger boat, I didn't need to launch at a ramp, I kept my boat in the water 9 months a year, then dry stored it on land the worst 3 months of winter, which gave me time to scrape and paint, wax, replace Zincs, dress the props, do maintenance to get the boat ready for the upcoming season. I did see my share of boat ramp excitement, the marina I belonged to had 4 ramps for 'weekenders'. We used to call the weekend guys who didn't know what they were doing and screamed at everyone around them "Captain Crunch'. Inevitably, they would crash into the dock, wreck the boat, or trailer, even dump the truck in the drink on a couple of occasions. Great entertainment for all the captains and their mates to watch, especially on holiday weekends, when you could tell this might be the only time of the year their boats or Jet Ski's would be in the water. The other 364 days were spent paying off all the damages. The best one I ever saw was a doctor with a new 46-foot Sea Ray Sundancer Express that cut between 2 tow vehicles with a sand barge between them. The Sea Ray refused to acknowledge the tow boats, or didn't see them and before he knew it, both engines had 4" thick tow ropes wrapped up in both inboard shafts and props. The force was so great it pulled the shafts and struts from the bottom of the boat and damn near sunk it. The pumps and Towboat US kept it afloat then towed the boat back to the dock. The Doctor had some serious tickets to pay, plus damages to the barge, the tow boats, towing ropes, equipment, and so on. He did 100K$ in damage to that brand new 500,000$ boat. It was a year and a half before it was repaired. The Doctor sold the boat not long after, I don't think his wife wanted to go out on it again, and TBQH, he was pretty embarrassed. Everyone on the river knew who he was and what the story was. This is why people with a lot of money and a brand new big first boat with ZERO experience on water, are a danger to themselves and others around them. It should be required for any new boater to take a mandatory 50-hour boating and operating course then solo in similar size vessel to the one they intend to own in same way new drivers require drivers-ed. minimum operating hours under supervision with a restricted permit before being given a driving license. This would ensure the owners are at the very least semi competent behind the helm. It would help save lives, prevent injuries, expensive property damage, and vessel insurance claims.
I'm old and retired. I never will go out on the water during holidays or on weekends. Too much going on , never enough parking. I'll stick to my weekdays where there is hardly any stupidity out there.
Just ran across your channel recently. After watching for a bit, I had no choice but to subscribe!!! Keep the watch brother, from a boater in Kentucky...
She and Dumb-ass Captain for letting her do that ! It is responsibility for everybody on board that boat. He endangered her life, he should be arrested and she, well......
The guy in the blue shirt sitting down with his legs over stopping the boat from docking quickly just after 29:00 he is "that guy" we all know "that guy"
15:40 She docked the boat like a pro. She read the wind and current and used both to her advantage. Nice and silky smooth. She makes 90% of the guys docking look like idiots. LOL
On the ocean or in the middle of the lake, long-line tow is fine, but close quarters like the launch ramp, definitely want to side tow. The towing vessel's stern should be aft of the boat being towed and boats should be tied at three points. make sure the rudder of the boat being towed it steered straight and manned by someone should additional steering movement be needed. Also, boats in tow have the RIGHT OF WAY.
Best insurance is Vessel assist or Tow Boat...pays for itself. I used them twice when my boats out drive took a dump on the way to Catalina Island.......They came and got me....first thing any captain needs to do is get covered for times that are bound to come...But remember they cant come get you if you dont have communication !~! Have a VHF RADIO on top of a cell phone......
Hey bro, I love your stuff and have killed lots of time and beers while viewing. Only suggestion would be to add English subtitles when you're speaking Spanish. 👍

Agreed those are the weekends my boat stays on the trailer……
The lady hanging in the water next to the running propeller is a thing nightmares are made of
That was truly frightening.
Bait. Or after the propeller has done its job. Chum.
You know she was taking a piss or #2 😂
Like he said. Ground beef for Fred.
I've seen plenty of pictures of people ripped to pieces by props and this girl is hanging off the ladder one slip from losing her foot. Captain should be ashamed of himself for allowing such stupidity to transpire on his boat.
Can’t believe she didn’t graze the prop. Absolute idiots.

Yea I’m a new boater, this stuff definitely helps teach u how boats react and whatnot
"no it's not allegations this is something I was told!" lol that was great
Reminded me of Cheech and Chong.
Who knew a marina could be better than General Hospital, including special guest appearances by Fred. Awesome
Wow that Lady captain made us alllllllll look bad!! Nice job very nice job!
Absolutely. Given the chance, I bet she could park the Oasis of the Seas!!
The lady peeing right next to a spinning propeller, wow. You can never underestimate stupidity.
Agreed. Even at idle, that prop would turn her into hamburger.
The lady in the water with the motor running gave me chills. We just had a fatality last weekend in Arizona when a lady had her leg amputated from a boat prop.
