  • Ukrainian officer Iryna, callsign "Dyka" (Wild), recounts her days as an assault soldier of the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade in late 2023, then deployed near the Russian-occupied town of Kreminna in Luhansk Oblast. Russian forces have been on the offensive in the area since June 2023, constantly trying to find Ukraine's vulnerable defense lines for a potential breakthrough.
The wounded soldier died six hours later at the attack site, with no one being able to reach him due to heavy Russian shelling. Iryna is currently fighting on the Bakhmut front - another hot spot of Russia's war on Ukraine - in Donetsk Oblast as a reconnaissance soldier.

This is so heartbreaking. As an American, I am so angry and ashamed that my government is allowing this to continue when we have all the equipment that you need to push the russians out of your country. Please keep showing the reality of war. People need to see the real people making real sacrifices, and the suffering and losses that continue because the west is full of cowards. I know you will win. I just wish it didn't cost you so much.

Victoria Newland worked to start this war. Instead of the US working to start this war, shouldn't they have instead worked to have prevented it? The civil war that has now evolved into a proxy war was 100% preventable.

I'm ashamed that Victoria Newland started this war. I'm ashamed that Biden didn't keep his promise to meet with Putin to insure that the Minsk Accords worked. I'm ashamed that we wanted Ukraine to fight a proxy war for us. This war needs to be brought to an end - not continued. Creating another Afghanistan like war to punish Putin was senseless. I'm glad that my Senator Rand Paul is for ending the war and not for continuing to destroy Ukraine. I support him!

@@user-om9hm8bd6b Yes this video needs to be shared. Not so that the same thing happening to this young lady can be done to even more by continuing the war, but so that it can be brought to an end! This war should never have been allowed to start. Biden Newland and the rest should never have pushed for it. The Minsk Accords and the Istanbul Agreements should never have been sabotaged. What Ukraine needs is PEACE not more senseless WAR.

@@michaelwilson9921 Putin has violated every treaty signed by him or his predecessors. Putin chose to invade Ukraine, in spite of having multiple discussions with Biden and other world leaders. Nobody set out to punish Putin. They did everything they could to placate him. America ending support for our ally will not end the war. We promised to protect them when we convinced them to give up their nukes. If we hadn't done that, they would not have been invaded in 2014 or in 2022. Isolationism made both world wars possible. America showing up to defend democracy ended them. What you should be ashamed of is selfishness to the point of standing idly by while a friend is slaughtered. Edited to add: Our soldiers are not on the front lines, other than volunteers. The Ukrainians are not asking us to spill our blood for them. They just need the tools to do the job of defending freedom on their own. The comparison to Afgahnistan is a false equivolency. By the way, all of our NATO allies joined us there because they kept their commitments to us when we were attacked. America should have the same integrity.

"What people can do when they have to." But why should they be forced to? This war was 100% preventable. That's what the Minsk Accords were meant to do. Although, as Merkel has openly admitted, the West never intended to keep them. They were a trick to give time to arm Ukraine for the proxy war the West desired. Why desire a proxy war to destroy Ukraine? Why not accept peace? Why didn't Biden do as promised and meet with Putin to insure the success of the Minsk Accords?

At 3:08 onwards, she is basically describing all of the initial warning signs of PTSD. It doesn't usually hit you until you are no longer regularly in combat, or the war is over. Feeling like 'a different person', having little emotion, and things feeling surreal or like a dream are all very clear indicators that if this woman survives this war, she will likely have a whole new, psychological battle to deal with. It often hits like a truck when it starts. I wish her all the best.

It would the greatest incentive for them to return and enlist because of the shame they would feel. Let viewers see her beautiful face without the mask. Very sad. We have learned nothing from all the proxy wars the US and the Soviet Union once fought in Central America. Replaying that same drama in Ukraine is not good for anyone. It was not the US or the Soviet Union who suffered most from those proxy wars, it was the citizens of those countries who did. Now unfortunately, Ukrainians are suffering in a war that could easily have been prevented.

"Could easily have been prevented" ... there were treaties to prevent it. There were high-level discussions to prevent it. The west let russia take Crimea thinking that would prevent a full-scale invasion. Nothing could have prevented Putin doing what Putin wanted to do because Putin does what he wants to do. He thinks he's going to be the replacement for Stalin and take back the old soviet states and he has made it clear that he will continue until that goal is accomplished.
