- The Kyiv Independent’s Alexander Khrebet and Oleksandr Karasiov from the Ukrainian military and tactical clothing brand, M-TAC, examine several samples of Russian military uniforms. Samples of uniforms were passed to us by the Ukrainian soldiers from the Territorial Defense Forces and Special Operations Forces. The uniforms were worn by Russian infantry and reconnaissance troops in Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts.

As a former American soldier, I really appreciated this quick look into some of the issues with the uniforms. The unclosable fly definitely gave me a laugh.

The types of uniforms for combat issued to the Russians indicate the quality of combat clothing issued to their basic infantrymen. This is also valuable intelligence to how fast they are issuing uniforms to replacement troops being sent to the front for combat meaning that brand new uniforms being issued to new troops who are becoming casualties indicating that less veteran soldiers are in the Russian Army ranks. This can be deceiving because the veteran soldiers would take the new uniforms off the replacements. In all it means that the Russian Army are issuing more uniforms of lesser quality to their soldiers because they become casualties more quickly meaning they have less training as they are feed into the existing assault units only to be killed in combat very quick. Uniforms left behind by dead soldiers who never came back from combat are recycled to the few veterans who managed to survive combat for now.

Don't be so nasty to the British. Btw, a large part of the "elite" Ukrainian equipment collimators, optics, night vision, markers, magazines for AR-15 and other weapons equipment, helmets, ballistic vests, tourniquets, drones and anyway other things, guess where it comes from?
99% of the drones being used are Chinese.. no idea where people get the idea that something isn't made in China these days.

The first batches of the Ratnik digiflora uniforms did not use IR stable dyes either. If was not long before they discovered soldiers glowing in the dark when viewed with night vision equipment. They rectified this but I would bet there is still a lot of that in circulation. There is a fair chance that the laundry is not done with the right detergents too and that degrades IR stability.

It's why most soldiers on both sides are in multicam uniforms and plate carriers purchased on their own I guess. Wild to make a video meme'ing the enemy's gear while your frontline is withering and Western support is wavering lmao.

Also, it's not just politicians, talk to the average civilian in the West, Ukraine is an afterthought and most don't know anything going on besides headlines they briefly read. So yeah, I'd say support is wavering in total and would argue it only still exists because of politicians.

The realities on the present battlefield are that Russian uniforms are not made to be worn for a prolonged time as previously active personnel is regularly either sent home in boxes or is helping fertilizing the fields in a permanent position.
