I honestly miss Dead Island's unique tropical environment and the creativity that it brought upon open world zombie gameplay. I think Dead Island 1 and Riptide, at the time, brought a fun yet serious enough campaign that could be enjoyed for a while with friends, or a handful of run throughs solo. With all of the different elements of the main/side quests, blueprints, weapons, easter eggs, zombies and can't forget the legendary 4 crew original lineup characters. Although it wasn't a perfect game (especially Riptide) it was still a fun, memorable game that held itself up through its era even with all of the glitches and weird mechanics. I think Techland did a great job with Dying Light and brought on a new set of mechanics to the open world zombie apocalypse scene, but Dead Island was just overall bada$$ for the time it was released. Its obviously a bit outdated now, but I'm glad Techland still brought some light to this forgotten game through little easter eggs like the right hand/left finger of glova in DL. I haven't encountered someone who's actually pointed out that this is a reference to the developer blueprint #666 aka the left hand of glova from Dead Island, but maybe it has been many times and I just never seen or heard it from anyone. I always held faith that Dead Island would some day make its return, same with how many people did with the Left4Dead series, but my biggest hope is that the devs at least took advantage of the prolonged time they have been "working on the game" and don't change it in a way that completely takes away from its originality that fans loved about the originals. Also, thanks CK for the great content and bringing this information to light!
To be honest dying light 1 and dying light 2 are pretty much the better successors and It's gonna be hard to compete with its game play to be honest since it'll be like dying light with out parkour.
not really if they have good gameplay and story its more than enough to be a good game since dying light 2 doesn't have great combat which was the originals game selling point
I sure hope the final product has different sprinting animations. The thugs need to change as well if they somehow haven’t yet. Not as menacing at all.
Definitely won’t pre order but I really hope that it’ll look more realistic than what’s shown so far and ends up being more like the original in terms of blood and gore and combat with the zombies being able to break down certain doors so there’s still safe places to be in and that it doesn’t end up being like dying light because from what we can see right now it’s like dying light combined with Fortnite with the way it looks and how it’s guns are, if they scrap what they have and start fresh I’d like to still see it set in California (because the virus has to eventually stop just being on islands) or somewhere like Cuba so it’s actually on an island still but a much more populated one with a much larger city
I'll be buying Dead Island 2, but I'm gonna admit.. it's gonna be super outdated in the zombie genre. Nostalgia is a funny thing, but I'll still enjoy it for what it is.

I'll just play Dead Rising 3 for the city and arcade feeling until DI2 releases I enjoyed DL1 and 2 but tbh kinda burned out on DL2 so yeah I'll just Dead Rising 3 for now lol
I don’t even care if it’s not good by other peoples standards, I’m still gonna get it. I don’t really like the plot in most of todays games, really did not dig the wacky, zany characters in Dying Light 2 at all. Thought they were cringey and too forced like most characters in todays progressive gaming sphere. (Lawan making me get her a pair of shoes after I risked my life climbing a huge skyscraper, really??) I liked the more serious undertones of Dead Island’s characters and side missions, as weird as that sounds, they were just a lot more palatable to me. That and I loved the whole tropical ‘zombies in paradise’ vibes it put off. Really, just give me a simple open world zombie game where I can blast zombies with shotguns, Gallagher their heads like watermelons with sledgehammers and bats, and slice and dice with katanas and I’d be happy. I don’t care if it’s not all cinematic like TLOU, or “super immersive”, or have cutting edge mechanics. I just wanna have a simple fun game with a story I can take somewhat serious. Not sure if Dead Island 2 will turn out that way, but hey. I’ll give it a shot.
if they keep analog fighting the game is an automatic 100 to me
would love to see it but I'll believe when it's out
Ahh i can imagine that some modder would probably try to get sam b or logan character added into it
yager maybe wasn't a good fit for the series but i must say that the ambient sound dynamic soundtrack zombie animations and attention to detail was better than most games these days, i just wonder how much of that will be left in the final game
What sort of world do we live in where this gets a sequel and not God Hand or Vanquish?
If we waited this long then it’s gotta be gta but with zombies
Great video g to be honest i forgot about this game hopefully this dead island 2 will make a *beep* tweet like cyberpunk did few years ago☺
A goofy Hollywood-themed island zombie game would be so good right now.
8 years and development is still a mystery. Thats sketch
Hope we got good multiplayer became I loved playing with friends.
You can kind of see the direction they wanted to head with dead island 2, at the beginning they emphasize those sneakers and running in general. I think whether we got dead island 2 or dying light, parkour would play a big part in their next game… playing dead island in 5th grade tho blew my mind and raised the bar for countless zombies games with their rag doll physics and dismemberment
I pre-ordered this game at GameStop many years back I’m never getting that cash back
it be funny if the day this game comes out. you suddenly get a copy of "Dead Island 2" free of charge for your 8 years missing 60$
@@IdiotStinky02 that'd be great lol
I can remember downloading a super early playable demo version about a year back and mucking about on that for a while. Just really hope the fully developed game is acutally good and has effort put in to unlike a lot of games now a days.
I'd be more excited if there was rumor of a Left 4 Dead 3!
February 2023. Official Dead Island 2 Trailer is out. I cannot wait.
im more hyped for dead island 2 than i ever was for dying light 2
hopefully they won't disappoint us but judging by the fact that they scrapped the last gen versions i have good faith that its going to be just fine
people seem to forget that dying light 2 also went through development hell and its not hard to tell. maybe it wasn't as long as di2 was, but 2/3 years of dev hell isnt Good either
Dying light 2 didnt deliver. It was a huge downgrade compared to what was shown in demo trailers earlier. They pulled off a Cyberpunk just less buggy.
Just a reminder it's going to be like dying like 2 but without the parkour
no lol its going to be so much different
I wouldn't mind a change of scenery with fun gameplay
I absolutely enjoyed dead island it was something so different when it came out and co-op with buddies was sweet too. For what It was at the what a blast
The video game industry is the only one that seems to not have been able o find a way to make remote working work. Business software development has found a way to make remote working work out so why is the video game software development industry unable to do this or are they just using covid as an excuse to get delays that they otherwise would not be able to sell to shareholders/investors?
I totally forgot about this. Just been replaying dead island
Dead Island 2 releases in 2023.
My source: My uncle who works at Nintendo.
the thing is that even embracer confirmed that its coming out around that time
I went to the edge of the universe and back while they were making this game.
what I believe deep silver are still making saints row so when that's made there going full throttle on devolvement for dead island 2
*One of the greatest video game trailers.....EVER!*
I sure hope the final product has different sprinting animations. The thugs need to change as well if they somehow haven’t yet. Not as menacing at all.
not sure if they can deliver a better killing zombies mechanic then dying light... I mean this is pretty damn good
i wish the runner in the trailer could be in gameplay
Ah yes, the next Duke Nukem forever experience
duke nukem was being made by one developer for like 15 years though
2045 still waiting for dead island 2
I hope they dont F it up like they F up dying light 2
They need to make it just as frightening. If your zombie game isn’t scary just put it back on the shelf.
It's not more right now it's more like back then
Hopefully it happening. I enjoyed the original dead island and am loving dying light 2 so would love some more.
Love both franchise
I'll be buying Dead Island 2, but I'm gonna admit.. it's gonna be super outdated in the zombie genre. Nostalgia is a funny thing, but I'll still enjoy it for what it is.
I'll believe it when I see it. No Hate towards you or anything. I just lost hope in this until i see actual showing.
How long do they need. It’s been 7 years
development hell is a thing you know?
@@void7837 not for 7 years it’s not.
@@isaiahphelps3232 wdym not for 7 years Duke nukem forever was in dev hell for like 10/ 15 years and dead Island 2 started development in 2012 and got rebooted in 2019, thats almost 8 years of rebooting
Funny... I just got back into it because it was heavily discounted on Playstation. Insane that this vid gets recommended now. 😂😂
The definitive editions are a lot of fun
I bought dead island recently. Holy shit the story is hot doo doo. But i dont blame the people who love dead island. Im sure it was hella fun back in 2011
Story doo doo? Really? I thought it was good
the story is shit but the combat was hella fun
@@ghostlegit voo doo
It's still a lot of fun today and the story is so bad it's good to me
Been waiting for this video
People who are enjoyers of both dead island and dying light>people who argue about which series is better
Yeah
It's taking so long because the scope of dead island and number of systems involved is like 10x that of Dying light
Really hoping that the setting remains in California!
might as well make it 2024 to be officially a 10 year wait since the OG Trailer.
Nothing beats the Xbox 360 era. Great times playing this game. Whats up with all the comments lol.. Typical PS4 players.
I love the games and Ive only played them on ps3/PS4 lol
Playing dying light 2 even tho I love it looking at these early builds of dead island 2 I think I would love it more than dying light lol.
true i always loved how much color and gore there was in the gameplay trailers. it will be so much different from dying light
I forgot this game existed lmao
This is to a beautiful cinematography I would love to see what this trailer would look like if they did again but a little bit better as in like they basically remastered this trailer because it's still great as it is now but I love to see what I would look like on something else but if another studio just took this and basically we've ended reinvented this trailer but in their own style like a Square enix to the final fantasy version of gifts or if not he done did their version of this in their style it will be interesting to see what other service they could do with you even have the anime version of this it will just be interesting and find to actually see CR company is would you you with this trailer
This game better be very good and long
I still play both definitive editions and am constantly getting more and more stuff done on them with multiple accounts, if they do this, I will be sooooo happpppyyyyy!!😌😌
And for the record played when the games were OG on 360 and harder. Both on older version and newer definitive they are ALL fun 🤩
This game is approaching Duke Nukem Forever levels of waiting frustration. Fucking release the game Deep Silver!!!!!!!
and when they release it you will cry that its buggy. let them work on the damn game, its only been in development for not even 3 years, the assets from previous devs let them release it a lot earlier than it should
@@void7837 the game has been in development for 8 years. 8 YEARS, NOT 3. You can see why I’m so pissed off of the constant changing of developers and systems. 3 years, have been living under a rock?
@@Swordslinger-hb1ns yeah sure 8 years if you want to go that Way. Now People will say that the game will be insane because it was in development for 8 years not 3 which is actually the case since they rebooted the game in 2019
