love thisss, people always say batman has plot armor, in some cases yes he does because duh he's a beloved character, but at the same time people forget even darkseid calls batman the greatest detective and master strategist, the man's a maxed out human with capabilities that put him in a league of his own
But here's the thing...every character takes prep time when story gives them...spider-man,not having money and lab of his own, can't make specific backup gadgets but after encountering the specific villains for first time...he uses their abondend lab,resourses and old weapons he scavanges in 2nd act and lastly uses all in 3rd act...and its all when he first meets the villain...and same goes for reed hank and other intelligence based characters...tony build a fucking phoenix buster for gods sake...if writers didn't nerf tony by giving his invention faulty,there wouldn't be story to progress...on the other hand they made Dr.doom marvels master preper...its still plot armour considering its always stated DCs smartest were luthor yet his contingency plans mostly failed...in conclusion every intelligence power base character has shown to make prep time...sometime for story sake it backfired,deemed useless or sometimes character wasnt given prep time for the suddenly occurred out of no where and character was busy fighting street level and didn't had enough resource to make something like hulkbuster...
I feel another underrated stat in fights is weapons, since weapons paired with speed can be a deadly combo, let’s take into account, Jason vs Freddy, it should be a absolute stomp in Jason’s favor right? Well as we see, Freddy was able to outspeed Jason and use surrounding weapons to help him toy around with Jason, but that’s not the best seeing as Freddy had to use his surroundings, let’s do, art the clown vs Michael Myers, Michael is smarter, more strong and even more durable, but yet Art has a huge variety of weapons, all that could have a specific effect on Michael, and some could kill him, I just don’t like how people keep downgrading weapons as a stat, but I agree with this video, prep time can change the tide of a battle in just a few seconds.
