We finally start Journey! I know some of you have been asking for this for SOOOO long and I apologize that it's taken awhile to get around to it. So far it's so soothing it puts me into a trance XD
Its a 2-3 hour game depending on how much you explore. Btw those empty side buildings/structures you found outside of the main path, try using O when you find another one. There is usually something you can activate in them
This game is like an intruiging dream, leaving a peaceful, memorable trace... Once you get the hang of the game mechanics it feels like you're naturally traveling to where the wind carries you. Pretty sure you're going to love the experience 😌
Think that other player was trying to get a trophy. There's one were you both have to sit in that meditation position for like 20 seconds. Not easy if the other player doesn't know about it.
If you bump into another player again, look at their robe - you can tell whether they've played the game before by the amount of gold embroidery they have on their robe. If the robe is white, they've definitely played before. As others have said, the game is open to interpretation, but I think the images that we see when we meditate will make sense by the end of the game. Would say more but I don't want to spoil things for you :)
I still remember my first moment seeing someone else in this game and realising it was an actual other player. Took my breath away how seamless it was. How real the interaction felt. No other game has ever made me feel this way
Yes. I remember playing this through in 2 sittings. While standing in the local game store. It was that intruiging, the owner of the store let me play the whole game! Marz you are awesome and cute by the way!
Just started watching, but I assume you'll love this game's soundtrack, too. The composer is Austin wintory and I think you can find the whole OST on UA-cam 😊😉
One of the most beautiful games i ever played! That summer i always made a journey and i met a few other travelers in the game but there was one who i traveled with from the beginning til the end and just before we parted i drew a heart in the sand to the other one. This traveler jumped up and down and ran around of joy, it was truly, a happy moment!
Aww you missed some murals. They're the blackboard-like walls with a few small stone pillars next to them on both sides. Anyway, Journey was a really wonderful experience when I first played it years ago. Playing it with other people made the experience even better. It was like a journey through life with different people by your side. Hope you enjoy the rest of it too!
The important thing to notice from the story so far, without spoilers, is seeing the plants replaced by the city buildings. Other than that, anything more would be a spoiler. You missed a couple secret things around the world, but you are more likely to get them on a second playthrough.
I played this game with my sons blind, not knowing anything. I loved learning and trying to piece together the story. I’m excited to see how you interpret the story as it unfolds! Have fun and enjoy.
Holy moly, my all time favorite game. Savor the experience - its best to complete the whole thing in as few sittings as possible. I will confess to shedding that One Manly Tear upon completion of the game.
For me the story was always quite clear (though I guess it’s open to interpretation) The story starts with creation and the origin of life (the birds, plants, the first people) The peoples’ descendants started to use and exploit the world around them, building a civilisation from it, in time abusing that power and subjugating it for their own ends, that in turn resulted in them basically destroying their whole civilisation when they turned on each other, the game is set well after its’ fall and all that remains is ruins, you being one of the few remaining descendants.
I will definitely watch you play this in its entirety. I first played this almost 5 years ago. It was the night before my wife went into labor and gave birth to our first and only child. To this day the combination of both experiences is single handedly the greatest moment of my life. I truly hope that you get something out of this experience as well.
This game looks so different from any game I have ever played or seen that I had to google it to find out more about it. Thanks for introducing me to this.
This weekend I've played throu this game maybe like 5 times, and I met a lot of people during my journey. That means that people are still playing it 👍
All these comments and no help anyway when you see some of the ruins there are greyed out walls with the tomb stones or whatever press your circle to light them up your missing story pieces
Love that you are enjoying this. I remember playing it for the first time, and not knowing it had an online feature, and then bumping in to another person, it was really surprising.
Fantastic, so looking forward to watch you play this gem. Hopefully there are still people online as it is the best way to play when you are paired up.
P H To each his own, I loved ABZU and I took my sweet ass time with it, enjoying all of it's beauty. But I also studied marine science, so I'm obviously biased.
Oh Cool , one of my favorites though it is (was) very short but very unique and beautiful almost soothing and just for the beauty of the Ending , remember that mountain and the shooting star thing @ 23:25 ;)
I wouldn't be too concerned about understanding the meditations/checkpoints just yet. As long as you pay attention to the way each stage makes you feel, individually and as a whole, it's truth will resonate. So, as for it being relaxing, like any good tale there are catastrophic lows and euphoric highs to be had. I hope by the end it'll hold great meaning to you, like it has for so many. Savor this one Marz :)
Love this game. Quick hint, if you notice at the end of the level where you sit, there are stones in front of the slanted triangle thing. They light up for every white orb you pick up, those things that add to your scarf length. If there are any unlit, you missed some. Great in game check list for if you want to collect those later on.
Ever since this game came out I've been hearing how beautiful and relaxing it is. Always wanted to experience it but never could. So ever since I saw people recommending this game to you, I've been patiently waiting for you to play it. Glad to see you finally play it and am happy to be able to take part in yet another journey with you and your community :)
I hope you read that. I love journey, it's one of the most incredible games I've ever played, but one piece of advice: play from beginning to end without stopping! game is not long, and so playing at once makes the game look better!
Great pick. This game is great regardless if you go through it alone or with someone else. But it is reccomended you do it on one sitting. It's just a little over 2 hours and the payoff is so awesome.
I hope That Game Company makes an amazing game for this current generation. It's been 10 years since Journey came out and all they've made since then is a mobile game. They really need to get back to what they do best. Journey and Flower both being masterpieces.
Yeahhhh! I have been so excited to see you play this, this game is so beautiful, this I think is a game made for you. It is amazing. Hope you have fun.
I went through a bunch of the comments here and I didn't see it mentioned, but I thought you might be interested in this because you enjoy game stories on a personal level. But a while back in 2013, Jenova Chen got a letter from a 15 year old girl who played this game with her father after he was diagnosed with an unspecified illness. They enjoyed the game together, and he passed away a couple months after that. She said that the game helped her cope with his loss, and that the game felt like a metaphor for his journey to the end. I think one of the great things about a story like the one in this game is that it's not just up to interpretation - its openness allows people to attach their own personal meanings and value to it. I don't necessarily think all stories should be like that, but in this case I think it works very well as it is.
I would suggest The Stanley Parable (which is a hilarious game) or The Beginners Guide (by the same developer) if you want to play games that are completely different than action RPG`s. Although The Beginners Guide is not exactly a chill experience, its a game about depression after all :/
This is one of my favorite games of this decade! Awesome! As a hint: whenever you see ruins that have a couple of monoliths at what it looks like a screen (like the ones at 6:46 and 26:11) try to interact with them by pressing circle :)
If you'll notice, the other player had more markings on the bottom edge of his cloak. Your cloak will get more markings with each subsequent playthrough.
Hey Marz just wanted to say hi and that even though I only recently started watching your channel I can say that you’re quickly becoming one of my favourite youtubers so thanks so much doing UA-cam and I hope your channel continues to grow cause you deserve it 🙂
Good morning, I'm a fan of yours here from Brazil. I follow your BloodBorne videos from the beginning, always looking forward to the next one. Today I had a good surprise, you played Journey, this game was awarded, you have a message back, when you finish the game, I would like you to talk about what message is passed through the game. You are very beautiful, with all respect, I can not look at you, your fiancé is a lucky guy, congratulations to you !!
You should REALLY play this through in one go - as its designed for. To break for days during it is going to spoil it. Its like having a week break in the middle of a Mozart symphony! Its only like 2hr long! If you want 30min long eps you can still cut it up to publish!
Oh my gosh, this game looks beautiful! I could watch too much incase I play it myself one day, but I’m happy to see you starting it and having so much fun!
Yessss, I totally love this game, at first I though I would get bored after finishing my first playtrhough but then I just went on and on until I got the platinum, and everytime I invite a friend to my house I make them play this game and abzu (wich I personally love even more than this game) Besides this is for sure going to be good for relaxing after so many dosis of complex storytelling games like bloodborne and nier xD
I played through this too many times when it came out. Each time u complete the game you get a new design wrapped around your garb. I got like half way up 😭
Please play ABZU. It is by the same developers and about underwater life. I love your let's plays keep up the great work!! Another stunning game by these devs is called flower. You play as the wind blowing flowers around through the story .
if you like the art and music of journey i suggest ori and the blind forest has amazing music and background is all hand drawn, only thing its a bit more complex and is a plat former but amazing non dialoge story line with amazing art and sound track
Dang, there will be viewers that wished they were online to share your Journeys! Though it is a random pairing. When are you playing again? The art style in this game is simply gorgeous, as is Austin Wintory’s music score. The story reveals itself in beautiful tableaux sequences. Yet the whole game remains open for personal interpretation.
Recently found your channel through Heavy Rain, awesome channel you have, you should definitely play Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit (its older but similar and from the same developers as Heavy Rain and Detroit Become Human) or maybe something like LA Noire (getting ready for Red Dead Redemption 2), keep it up :-)
Hey, you played this one too? Hah, wicked. I just introduced it to my 3.75 year old for the reasons of beauty and song. and no violence of course. Need more PS3 games for kids.....can't find any:( Suggestions ?

Marz,
Yes! I’ve been waiting so long for this.
Fr
I feel like the game is up to your own interpretation. This ur your journey and how u experience it is up to you.
Hi. Marz
Its a 2-3 hour game depending on how much you explore. Btw those empty side buildings/structures you found outside of the main path, try using O when you find another one. There is usually something you can activate in them

That makes sense lol. I was wondering what was happening
If you bump into another player again, look at their robe - you can tell whether they've played the game before by the amount of gold embroidery they have on their robe. If the robe is white, they've definitely played before.

"Anything over here? Doesn't look like it," she says, somehow missing the huge panel and monuments.
You're killing me, Marz.
I felt the same. Super FacePalm haha Couldn't figure out how the curiosity didn't make her sing in that moment.
Teets_McGheets She’s not very bright
Whole ost is on spotify to.
If a game has music by Austin Wintory, then it’s a good game. Other examples are Banner Saga and Abzû
This game's soundtrack was even nominated for a Grammy, but The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo won.
The carpets try to tell you things! That building they were pointing you towards shows you lore if you sing/walk near to the stones by the wall
One of the most beautiful games i ever played! 3:20 "Arms? Where we're going, we don't need arms."😁
12:45 the demo ended right here. Instant purchase. Best game ever.😊
Holy moly, my all time favorite game. Savor the experience - its best to complete the whole thing in as few sittings as possible. I will confess to shedding that One Manly Tear upon completion of the game.
The music was incredible in this game.

This is literally one of my most favorite games of all time. I recommend playing through all of it in 1 sitting. It's so amazing!
Wow wow what a relaxation vibe the music is easy to listen to 😳
This game looks so different from any game I have ever played or seen that I had to google it to find out more about it. Thanks for introducing me to this.

Fantastic, so looking forward to watch you play this gem. Hopefully there are still people online as it is the best way to play when you are paired up.
This isn't a game it's an experience
Have you played Ori and the Blind Forest?
man forgot what masterpiece this game is so beautiful and soothing
Yay!
Please play ABZU as well, it's from the same devs and it's short too.
Abzu's not actually the same devs, but the studio that made it was started by the guy that was the art director on this.
Oh you are right, thank you for clarifying.
I didn't enjoy Abzu anywhere near as much as Journey. But maybe that's just me...
I've been hoping you'd play this!
Journey is one heck of a journey...
This is the polar opposite to Bloodborne. So calming.

Definitely appreciate a mix of game types on the channel.
This game is a piece of art for me.
Love this game. Quick hint, if you notice at the end of the level where you sit, there are stones in front of the slanted triangle thing. Mr P ok man calm down no one wants to read a paragraph
everyones account it‘s not that long though
So happy you're playing this! I love this game's use of 'multiplayer'
You should play Okami. I think you would like it.
Yes, finally Journey playthrough. I will be late to work but I have to watch it!
This game is really amazing, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when I played. The OST is great btw you can find it con spotify. Keep playing Marz!
I hope you read that.
I love journey, it's one of the most incredible games I've ever played, but one piece of advice: play from beginning to end without stopping! game is not long, and so playing at once makes the game look better!

Awesome playthrough. Journey is a beautiful game. I got the collection from the UK.
I would suggest The Stanley Parable (which is a hilarious game) or The Beginners Guide (by the same developer) if you want to play games that are completely different than action RPG`s. Although The Beginners Guide is not exactly a chill experience, its a game about depression after all :/
I agree! She should play both. They're so simple yet so creative and interesting!
This is one of my favorite games of this decade! Awesome!

Journey was my sh*t way back when! Bring me back baby! Bring me back loll
Good for you, playing Journey, I think you'll love it. If you haven't already, I highly recommend Stardew Valley! Really charming and fun.
Yesss! I'm so glad you're playing this game. Enjoy it!
I watched the GDC talk on the camera from Journey, speech was given from the camera programmer, it was so damn interesting.
Hey Marz just wanted to say hi and that even though I only recently started watching your channel I can say that you’re quickly becoming one of my favourite youtubers so thanks so much doing UA-cam and I hope your channel continues to grow cause you deserve it 🙂

Stopped just before the most gorgeous part of the game. So stoked for the next one!
No one journeys alone, Marz.
It really took my breath away playing this game, but the visuals, the incredibly satisfying movement and the emotional experience. Enjoy!
YESSSSSSSSSSSS FINALLYYYYYYYYY Been waiting for this forever, thx u for picking this up!!!!
Omg...

The building in the beginning shows a mural of all the gravestones being that of the white beings
Oh my gosh, this game looks beautiful! I could watch too much incase I play it myself one day, but I’m happy to see you starting it and having so much fun!
Ahhhhh! She keeps skipping the murals >.
Yessss, I totally love this game, at first I though I would get bored after finishing my first playtrhough but then I just went on and on until I got the platinum, and everytime I invite a friend to my house I make them play this game and abzu (wich I personally love even more than this game)

The sun is shinning👍
Such a relaxing game...

Maybe you should try singing to the gnats. ;-)

You won't regret this, even if it doesn't last long...great game
The game doesn't last long, but the memory of it surely does.
I miss this game so much... I loved my PS3 until she died...
Oooh! Journey Nice! Really beautiful landscape
You look good btw 👍
Oh, I remember reading about that too, awesome, I'll watch it later on :)
Yoo, I had no idea you were going to play Journey. I love this game!
Watching you play this so relaxing. This is not the thing to be doing at work :P
YESS!! Soo happy you're playing this
Yayyy! so glad your playing this game, your going to really enjoy it :D Love your vids Marz

Can't wait for the next Bloodborne video!
Game recommendation: Okami HD

This games looks cool. Keep playing ❤
you wont regret playing it
i recomend you to finish the game and then know about the message of the game
soundtrack is *AMAZING*
Thanks for the journey
Recently found your channel through Heavy Rain, awesome channel you have, you should definitely play Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit (its older but similar and from the same developers as Heavy Rain and Detroit Become Human) or maybe something like LA Noire (getting ready for Red Dead Redemption 2), keep it up :-)
After you've finished playing this you should play the next game in the series its called 'Abzu' its even more beautiful, like its so gorgeous 😊😊😊
Play “The Unfinished Swan” it’s really good, soothing like journey.
Marz, if you wanna turn the light off.....just turn the light off!
I did and it was too dark! XD
*AMAZING GAME*
Hey, you played this one too? Hah, wicked. I just introduced it to my 3.75 year old for the reasons of beauty and song. and no violence of course. Need more PS3 games for kids.....can't find any:( Suggestions ?
this game its beautiful like youuu
Ahhhh I see you finally played this game
