Thank you to all the amazingly supportive messages you have made as this video picks up views. It was an honour meeting, photographing and filming Olivia and a real reminder of how determined folk can be in the most challenging of times, even with life changing conditions and injuries. Less than charitable comments and just downright mean and cruel ones with no purpose or context will be reported and/or deleted. Spare a thought for people like Olivia who tell stories like this in order to help others come to terms with their own challenges. Have a good day.

I got her autograph literally hours before her accident. I was actually still on set when it happened... As a amature stuntman still seeking my break into the big game, she absolutely inspires me to stay strong, keep fighting, and get through these hard times of little work until I can get my break into the big game.. Being a stuntman is a tough career, because you have either made it, or your like me, getting hurt, month after month, for small projects with little to no pay whatsoever, but you continue to do it, because it is what you love and what you feel you were made for.... As much as I've struggled, I'll never regret choosing this path...for example, after a job, I got tricked and didn't get paid enough to get home, so I ended living in the streets of Berlin for almost 8 months...and Im from Phoenix, Arizona, USA, so if you can imagine how scary that was, being homeless in foreign country, then you can see what I mean.. yet I won't quit, I know my break is coming, and it's her that has absolutely inspired me to know I'm do....

She talks about it like it was a bad day in work (well, it was at the end of the day). I sense extreme power, love of life and courage in this woman. Don't mean to insult anyone but people where I live complain about things that are pretty much Disney Land compared to what she been through. I'm amazed.

This is the first time I see her talking with her open heart and it shows you how much is affecting her, but more how much she have the strength to fight against the odds. This is why I love her, I hope someday I can give her a big and strong hug... Because I need it more than her.

A somewhat twisted story for you, which you may or may not find interesting.
A little while ago I was reading the news forums and found mention of the sad demise of a lady by the name of Deborah Carrington - she was an actress/stunt woman. Among the comments was one from somebody who suggested that stunt people were courageous and to be admired. This is a sentiment I agree with entirely. Attached to *that* comment was another mentioning this lady, Olivia Jackson. And actually naming you along with mention of this piece of work. Which is how I found this wonderful piece - I typed in Ms Jackson's name and here you are.
So I sat here and watched this mini movie. And, frankly, I filled up. Because I am old, I get sentimental, and this tale poked me right in the heart. Then I watched it again. And again. Then I just had to add a comment. And then I added it to my favourites so I can find it easily when - not if, when - I tell other people about it. I think more people need to see this.
I just thought you might like to know that I found you by way of you being mentioned out there, beyond UA-cam, on the broader internet.
I closing, and before I get too boring: you need to be extremely proud of this work, my friend. It is beautifully made, profoundly moving, definitely inspirational and frankly compulsive viewing. You portray Ms Jackson with great compassion and humanity.
So yeah. You're not too shabby yourself in the incredible department. And it was a privilege to hear her story in a wonderful piece of work that you made :)

Woh. Thank you for this comment and indeed for taking the time to write such a detailed account. I can't tell you how much difference it makes in driving me to want to make more films like it. It's interesting how you happened across the film too, that tentacle like nature of the web at work! As the 'owner' of such a micro channel in many respects, it's good to know that some of these films can make a real difference to people. So, thank you again, you've made more of a difference than you probably realise.

This is the most moving bit of work I have seen regarding massive, life altering injuries (especially in the action sports world) Ms. Jackson. I do not mean too treat your ordeal as some sort of case study, but - having seen the effects of life altering/ending injuries in person, I can safely say that you are tougher than anyone I may ever dream of emulating. Also, (I mean this in the most sincere way) it is incredible that you came out the other side as beautiful, stunning, and powerful as you are. Lets just say that if my face was "degloved", or I experienced half of what you have conquered - I would be happy too come out looking like Michael Myers. You on the other hand, still possess extreme beauty, poise and grace. As you said, it would be all to easy too dwell on the "why me" aspect, or harboring massive resentment for the car camera crew that failed you. But instead you have proven day in amd day out, that you are more than worthy of the opportunities you've come across.

It is a great vid that you made Neale, but I really hoped that I would not mainly be about her accident but about the way she keeps on going. Cuz bad accidents happens to many, and by saying this I have no intention to belittle her hardships in any way, but what is exceptional about Olivia is her strength. It was great to see her talk about what she experianced, but it would have been wonderful to capture her will and determination to go on. That would have told a lot more about her than her accident.
I'm confident, that with your determination you achieve your aim, and more, Olivia.

Good comment Agnes. But I think the film is all about her strength. The shoot was really to show how you can come out the other side, and to ignore the accident in what I think is the only if not one of the few film interviews with her about this so personally, would seem somewhat remiss of me. Funnily enough we didn't plan for the film interview, it just happened atop a chat as we were shooting pictures. But your comments are valid.

Tony Neat Again, very kind. I didn't want the focus to be gratuitous. Olivia is a strong and very determined woman and wanted to show anything we thought would tell the story but at the right time. But for sure, I think the fact that she tells her story first is important. You're right there. It was an absolute honour telling her story, and I'm blown away that so many people have taken the time to listen to her. I know I know, and you mention audience figures, you can gain more views showing something reasonably irreverent, but this is a film that is slowly creeping into peoples' imaginations. I think a few have very kindly shared and that inevitably helps. As for the personal thing of the 98.8 more you mention? I am genuinely 'pumped' as they say, that so many people have dropped by to watch my compositions and offerings - and of course acutely aware that those who I feature are as much the draw as the time that goes in to make them. People like Olivia are incredible people that should always draw attention for the inspiration they offer. LONG answer to a comment. :-)

This extremely brave, and beautiful woman should be carried on a silver platter.. Though no compensation can be big enough, she deserves every thinkable kind of help and compensation, the world can offer, even if it never can be enough.. Shame on the movie company.. Hope Karma will get them, in the end.

She is indeed a brave and beautiful individual. I'm sure the film company did not set out to somehow 'get her' though and accidents are an awful fact of stunt work. I do hope however that she continues her recovery, keeps building on her strength and I for one would love to see her back in the business she so clearly loved.

What an incredibly strong and positive lady.
These stunt doubles take ALL the risks associated with there profession for a fraction of what there "A" class actor's/actress's get paid who take little to no risk.

It's a risk assessment occupation that's for sure. It occurred to me when talking with her, that these doubles and stunt actors are absolutely consumed by the job and profession.

You know what s really crazy? I actually fought a girl in Thai Boxing who just so happened to also have her left arm amputated, although this one was jus below the elbow, so she could still sort of use her elbow to strike.
She put on a boxing glove on her stump arm and holy fuck did I get my ass handed to me. That girl was a a crazy fighter and a huge inspiration to me.
Over time I have got to know a lot of amazing people with disabilities, some doing awesome charity and some are even competing in the Paralympics.
