There is a reason it was called the "Disfatta di Caporetto"... literally the "Defeat of Caporetto", but it is still a dark memory on the Italian history of the WW1. It was a TERRIBLE defeat in a terrible battleground
Are you planning on making a Top 100 Best and Top 100 Worst Maps of Battlefield only making short mentions of the said maps linking to these type of videos? Love the content! :)
Although i found a lot of bf1's maps to be mid, they are saved by the game's God tier atmosphere and i honestly wished they brought back the operation game mode in a more modern bf setting since i enjoyed playing that in bf1 more than conquest. Also have you play battlebit remastered? If so, what do you think of it?
I have played quite a bit of Battlebit. I think it is a great game for what It is, combining Milsim elements with a faster-paced Battlefield style. It has great depth and features, but certain things prevent me from loving it. Personally I hate the bleed out system, and the art style just isnt for me. I dont mind cartoony graphics, but its just too limited for my tastes, as it makes the maps bland and hard to navigate at times. If it looked like TF2, at least visually, id be playing nonstop probably.
Good things about Caporetto : 1: It has the Apocalypse music. 2: A heavy bomber’s wet dream 3:It is so bad that it usually gets outvoted by another map.
@@emilyschwartz9536 yeah I feel it's the maop I've played the most from the apocalypse DLC, and I really really don't like it, it's not even goodlooking imo
I especially have a deep hatred for this map because for some reason people would vote this map next on the map vote more often than not on otherwise good servers that had a good rotation. I would be playing on a server for an hr or 2 , having a great time, and then this map gets voted and I'm forced to leave because I'm not playing this trash heap.
Love all these map analysis videos! Unrelated note, I keep seeing Hangar 21 on the intros of your worst maps videos, is it one of your most hated? I'm curious to see your thoughts on it, since it's actually one of my favorite BF4 maps lol
Yea, Hangar is on my list for worst maps. That intro seemed to stack BF4 maps lol. Eventually Ill get around to it. Hangar isnt like the worst of the worst, but it does have problems. Maybe im mellowing on it lol. Anyways, everyone should absolutely be able to enjoy maps. That is one of the great things about Battlefield- its enormous map diversity.
@@GravityBFTV Haha definitely agreed with the map variety. Whether you roast my favorite maps or praise my most hated, it's always good watching your vids & your in-depth analyses!
The codex goes into detail about that. The Austria-Hungarians used gas which could overcome the outdated masks used by Italian troops. They also had German forces bringing in elite stormtrooper squads armed with MG-08/15 LMGs, light mortars, flamethrowers and small unit tactics. The Italians were effectively caught with their pants down and got spanked for it.
Love this series but I want to tell you that I wish you covered more recent BF maps, I like the old BF maps vids but some are way too long, anything from the Frostbite era is an instant watch for me
I understand. I am definitely trying to cut down on newer videos when I can. As for the recent BF games, I love the newer ones, but some people enjoy learning about the older titles too. There are so many maps to cover that its just a win some/ lose some thing.
I still do not see the goat of all the mountain maps in battlefield franchise monte grappa The only map in BF1 that sucks in every mode that no amount of redesign can save it
Funnily enough I really like the map, I tend to play well when I on this map, maybe because I lock in because the setting is beautiful. I can see and understand why people may hate, but I just really love it >:3
Would you be interested in discussing the map designs of battlefront 2 ea in galactic assualt and clone wars supremacy?? The developer DICE would still be on theme. I have my thoughts on their map design for these modes but I think you would have interesting input.
I appreciate the recommendation, but I dont have the much experience with that game. I dont feel like I should provide an opinion or any sort of analysis on something I dont have much knowledge of. Sorry
Quite a few UA-camrs i watch instantly call BF1s maps garbage, but thats not quite true. Its actually meh, not terrible, not great. Adequately playable is what I'd say. But then they also seem to ignore the absolute gems like Fort du voux, ballroom blitz, Al fa peninsula, gallipoli, paschendael, somme (kinda), zebrugge, most of the french maps, Amiens, and beallou wood.
Yea, that is definitely a common trope among people who generally hate BF1 overall. I dont agree. Each BF game has its winners and losers. You definitely named a few I consider great, and some I disagree with you on. I assume you meant Argonne instead of Beallou. At present, i have 4 maps from BF1 already complete on the Best Maps playlist. More will be added in time.
really love this serie. but I have to disagree with you at this time. Beside the view, for me this map is 1 of the best in bf1. - seem like you mention about open space. No, this map provide already enough trend, rock, obstacle, ... for you to roaming around the map without getting snipe so easy like in a desert in Sinai. This also, in other way around, help camper and sniper to locate their position ( if they smart enough ). So basically, 4 infrantry classes have equal advantage in this map - I don't have any problem with 2 heavy bomber in this map ( or maybe I just got to play this map in conquest assault only ). Most of plane are being threaten easily by AA gun and supporter lying in the trench releasing the whole magazine on them. Personally, in bf1 i'm main horse ( nearly 1000 hours with this animal I guess ). Even through it's a bit annoying for infrantry to take care of 3 enemy horses at the same time, but I have to say this map isn't for horse rider: so much trench, rock that trigger jumping animation, locations that can not get access easily. If the match is actually equal, most of the time horse rider would be catched in open space. And even through I found a way to get close to infrantry, they will dodge me easily ( if they know how mechansim of horse attack in this game ) - 1 thing more: no tank in this map is a huge W. I don't want to see tanker camping in A flags, shooting down other people 90% of the time like D flag in Fao fortress. IMO, this map fit for almost all playstyles. I give me 8/10. -2 is for how dice create C flag and gas cannon ( which is even through very potential to create better atmosphere, irl useless )
Nice response to the video. I appreciate the detail. Its never a bad thing to enjoy a map, and always great to see the good in it. The "open space" I mention is in relation to the first area around the A flag. The rest of the map does have significant rock and crevasse cover. My main concerns on the map were the steady imbalance in elevation and the CQ assault issues. As you mentioned, no tank on the map IS a W, i agree. Also, super excited to talk to a horse main. Do you think that in BF1 in general the horses were balanced well?
@@GravityBFTV i main it for a reason. For me, horse is the best balanced vehicle in the whole bf series. In the 50-50 match, horse rider can not charge easily toward infrantry, get kill and get out without a scratch like jet driver. u also, of course, dont have ability and sit back and camp like tank. So basically u has to have very deep knowledge about the map, especially the terrain and the flow of enemy. Other than that, team coordination is a must. Good jet or tank driver can ignore their team and relax with their kill feed. Horse rider can't. 1 on 1 vs 1 single assault is a death sentences, headless charge against supporters without the your teammate behind is not good either . u has to know whether to use teammate as a bait for a flank, or even make your self as a target ( smartly ) and resupply medic and armor for them to push up and get to the point. Learn how to throw gernade while moving, timing gernade recharge in order to annoy tank constantly, also create a huge gap between good and casual horse rider. And im still not talking about mastering shooting while moving ( anw i play horse because of melee kill, not for gun play ). Summary, horse in bf1 is known for the mobility, but has so many counter just by any single solder. a good horse rider is not about 3 digit k/d, but its actually about how you affect the flow of the match using your super mobility ( assasin the sniper, or camper the holding choke point, or lure line of enemy infrantry and tank get out of their safe place, ... )

Man that edit to make the music kick in when you said breathtaking gave me chills. Great video, as always.
The Somme was a great map imo. On Breakthrough it feels 100% like WW1, it's really impressive.
