- During one of her recent, raucous visits, Pandy arrived with a buddy. The other bear is most likely a sibling. I call him, Scarbee - and I know him by the scars on his butt. You may remember him from previous video posts, last year.)
Anyway, I knew something fun had happened because when I did my daily check on the tub, I saw the the rubber ducky was missing. (Since replaced.) The other toys had been knocked around, too, and the water level was down. Seeing those telltale signs always makes my day because I know there's even more joy around the corner.
I hope you enjoy watching this duo and their fun antics. Hopefully they'll come back again soon!

It is. But a labor of love. I keep my cleaning gear in my van so I don’t always have to trek down there on foot with it. It’s pretty wonderful that my well is located so far from the house as it gives the bears lots of privacy.
Sometimes it feels like the bears are ‘waiting in the wings’, just behind the trees, waiting for me to finish providing them clean water so they can muddy it up in an instant. All it takes is one bear-dip for the water to appear dirty. 😂

Pretty sure food is the problem, and toys aren’t. Of course even if I didn’t put out the toys, the bears would find something to play with. Pretty much anything can be a toy to a bear. 🐻 😊
Hi Amy...that is so darn cute! It's amazing the difference in their sizes. As always, I enjoy your videos immensely. On a different note; I'm in a similar circumstance (in one way) as you, last year. My daughter (my only child), 49 yrs old...passed away April 20th. She, and her body suffered the ravages of substance abuse, for over a decade. I tried my best to help her. Addiction took her from me years ago. Through God's grace, I pray my grandson's scars will heal quickly. I'm so glad you have the bears to help cheer you up. Thank you for sharing them with your audience. Ya never know how much help they are... for so many other's as well. Much love to you Amy...🙏🕊🙏

I remember you had a serious, ongoing struggle in your family but I couldn’t recall what it was until you reminded me.
That is the most tragic loss! In so many ways! I can’t imagine. I know you ‘technically’ lost your daughter to addiction already, years ago, but this final, physical loss steals away that last glimmer of hope. But there is abiding hope and love in your grandson now. He will be so lucky to have you in his life. He’ll need your loving guidance more than he realizes, I’m sure.
I’m so, so sorry! Just heartbroken for you all over again.

Once they’re done with their winter naps, the bears pretty much bed down wherever they feel like it, wherever’s safe and convenient. It’s a rare treat when I get to see bears take naps up here. 🐻 🤎

I’ve got some great new night-time footage of a similarly-aged pair of male bears playing and playing and playing around my hammock. Juggling a lot here, but I hope to post some of that footage soon. It was a pretty epic play-session, for bears, anyway, since they lingered and wrestled there for well over an hour. All three of my hammock cameras were working at the time (Yay!) so I have loads of clips to edit and sort through.

More authentic than the WWE. Although...I have yet to hear of a wrestler who grabbed his rubber duckie and then ran off with it so his opponent wouldn't be able to play with it.
I'm still searching for all the missing rubber duckies!
I just got permission to hike my neighbors adjacent acreage, so I'll be keeping a look-out for all the toys that went "missing." :-D

I'm so glad I'm over my old "musician's hours" (late to bed, late to rise) and now get up before light. It's always a treat to hear the first bird greet the day, followed by all the other birds in the forest. The best symphony there is.
Amy - Not only are your videos wonderful, but they also pose fun questions, like, is the new bear a sibling. I assume he/she is because that bit of wrestling seemed too gentle for a real confrontation.
It makes me really happy to see the bears enjoying the toys you leave out for them! And it amazes me how some bears actually make it onto the hammock and swing back and forth. I would have thought bears couldn’t figure out how a hammock works, but they are obviously smarter than I thought.

I’m pretty sure this is a sibling as I’ve seen this same male before. I probably saw him playing with Pandy last year - before I was calling her Pandy. I’ll have to go through my older footage to be sure. But I know that poor boy by the scars on his butt, for sure. He’s definitely been around before.
Scarbee may be on his last hurrah before striking out to find new territory of his own? I loved seeing them play together. Perhaps for the last time. I’m so glad they stopped by.
And I’m so glad that nearly everything can be a toy for a bear. 😁

@@FAIRVIEWCRITTERCAMS my sweetheart and I live over near the old mill in Weaverville and our trash got scattered all over the yard last night, lol we need to set up ring cameras!
🤣 Yeah around here, you have to set out the trash early-early on the morning of pick-up. Otherwise, that’s what happens.
My house is a couple miles from trash pick-up already so I just wait until my shed (the glorified trash can) reaches critical mass, then I make a trip to the transfer station.
Love that old mill. It’s so cool you live near there. Paul and his brother, Joe, and Al and I had a lovely meal there once, after having fun real-estate scouting together all afternoon. I remember being happily overcome by feral kittens after the meal. What a blast. Those were the days! I heard the new owners are working to bring that place back as an eatery? Hope that happens.
