everything is a subject of dispute and games, the bears are circus enthusiasts, they would have enjoyed being clowns, without disguise, with many admirers,
Such fun they had! I especially loved it when Sadie braced herself against the tree to have a better go at the carpet. These lovely bears (and all the other animals) really brighten our days! (I always return to the hopping/skipping coyote when I need a cheer up.) 💚💚💚
Thanks so much Amy ,your videos always make me smile, depending 😊. Hope you are doing a little better every day. At least the bears can make you smile a little. ❤🐾🐻❤🐾🐻❤🐾❤❤
Amy - You did a fantastic job with those cameras! The colors and resolution are perfect! I don’t think I’ve seen videos of bears that look as good as yours (and I watch a lot of bear videos). As you know, it’s hard for me to think of anything nicer than watching bears playing with your toys or basking in your tubs. I get a very “human” vibe from those videos. Maybe the most amazing thing is when one or two bears manage to get on your hammock! That takes SERIOUS skill and I have no idea how bears evolved to be able to swing in a hammock! I’m glad you are showing bears just relaxing and having fun!
🥰 - thank you!! Always my pleasure. The bears are slowly making their way up to my elevation as things green up the mountains. Activity really starts to pick up during bear mating season, later in the summer. I wonder which Mama Bears and cubs we’ll get to witness this year? Hopefully several and often. 😁
Bears! Teddybears! Aren't they cute! The little teddy still loves to play! Sad though that he is the only surviving one. Heartbreaking when bears don't make it! How are you keeping, Amy? So glad to see the bears are continuing to keep you company. 💜
So far, so good! The bears are still pretty scarce up here other than the few visits from Scruffy and Pandy. Activity will pick up as the weather gets warmer, and as we near bear mating season. Can’t wait!
@@FAIRVIEWCRITTERCAMS Nor me - mating season means tiny teddies next year... Glad you are keeping well. It was a terrible shock when you lost your husband. The bears and all the other animals and wildlife will always be there for you, keeping you company. Hugs to you, and to the bears!
Thankfully, it’s relatively easy to coexist with Black Bears. If you do right by them (and if your neighbors do right by them), and you always give them an out if you run into each other - then they aren’t really dangerous. They’re primarily a delight, although, to be fair, they can be quite the occasional nuisance. I’d feel differently if I were living in Grizzly or Polar Bear territory, though. Those types of bears can be much more dangerous. I’m glad to be living here in the Southern Appalachians for that reason.
Outstanding as always. Thanks Amy. I almost always read all of the comments other viewers make and I'm always amazed and grateful that you reply to so many of us. I for one really appreciate you doing that. Its rare on UA-cam that the content provider replies and to make that much of a time commitment. Thank you on behalf of all of us. You are special. @20NotTwothousand commented here and asked about bear encounters you have had. I remember the one you were hesitant to post because of some intensity with the bear chasing your dog that came running back to you. I would encourage you to tell us more about those encounters, even if you have less video of them. I recently fertilized my lawn with a regular we call Gretta laying under the bird feeder looking for bird seed. She was unconcerned with me coming and going with the spreader within about 15 feet of her. She accepts me and I'd bet my morning doughnut that the bears of North Carolina would be pretty tolerant of a fine lady with her dog on the trail, too. As long as your dog wasn't barking too much. Just a thought and suggestion for future content for you (and for us). Many thanks, Rick in B.C.
Thank you so much, Rick! (spellchecker wanted me to spell, “much” as “cub” - hahaha.) I do think Sadie was comfortable enough with me, otherwise that encounter with my dog Ava and her wee cub could have ended terribly! So cool that Gretta is comfortable with you around! I haven’t tried pushing things. I know the bears know my scent by now. And I know they know I know them. 😂 But, I still try to give them leeway. Like the times the bears are wanting to get into the tub precisely when I’m trying to head down the driveway with the dogs, for a walk. If I see the bears heading for the tub, I just turn right back around, much to the dogs’ disappointment, and the bears continue on into the tub, which was their ultimate destination. Cracks me up when that happens. So far, this has happened the most with Brownie. (He’s the same bear who took a nap on the ridge and who courted Belle - the beautiful sow with the radio collar who appears in the Mother’s Day hammock bears video.) Pandy came back again this morning. this time she was with her buddy. Perhaps her male sibling? (I recognize the male because of the scarring on his rump.) Turns out she absconded with the rubber ducky. It’s only April 24 and I already had to replace the rubber ducky. 😂
It’s not often, but it does happen. Usually we encounter each other when I’m out gardening. Occasionally it happens when I”m out walking the dogs - but almost always from a very safe distance. (A few times I’ve begun my walk in the dogs only to realize there’s a bear waaaaay down the driveway, inside the Rub-a-Dub-Tub, or getting ready to climb in. That’s when we do an about-face and we go for our dog-walk later. 😁 - One time Al and I were out walking with the dogs and we saw big old Brownie waiting for his turn in the tub. He saw us approach and waited. As soon as we turned around to head back home, he took that opportunity to jump into the tub. 😂 🐻 🛀 )
