We had a fantastic time in that area. We did the Minuteman visitor's center (if you want to do the tour, book in advance), Badlands NP (stayed at the cabins and had fry bread tacos--YUM!), Wall Drug, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and Chapel in the Hills Norwegian Stave Church in Rapid City. Absolutely LOVED the night time ranger programs at both Rushmore and Badlands! Great hiking in Custer SP, swimming in the lake and driving the Needles highway.

It's crazy that you can find so much to do, and then when you leave you know you still need to come back because you couldn't get to it all haha!
Is there typically a lot of snow around Christmas time? If so would it be difficult for a visitor to drive around in a rental vehicle?
