    Delay is to align a rear speaker that’s out of sync with the front to tighten the sound (you would delay your fronts to make the rears more in phase/tight Would be useful the larger the vehicle is… at extremes you would hear doubling … could also delay the passenger speaker to the drivers .. out of phase speakers will kill bass (most noticeably)

      Hey bro. I've been using this DSP for over a year now and just learned something. I was playing with my system and had only the sub going with a podcast playing. I heard the words through my sub and was like what the hell. Crossed it over down to 30 Hz and could still hear words. The crossover on this thing can't be trusted bro. So I tested further. Played at 40 Hz tone and my door speakers were trying to play it. Buzzing. I have them crossed at 150 Hz. Check it out yourself. Imma try a Dayton. I love the features on this thing but I can't run it anymore. I ordered another off Amazon just to see and it's the same way. Plus it lets a little noise in the system. I tried a good Newmar noise filter on it and it still had noise. I mean for the price you can't expect perfection. A good starter DSP nonetheless. Thanks for your videos bro. You rock!

      The x8air you must use the app . No buttons on unit. It has only 1 band custom eQ per output. ( px2 has 3 ) the x8air main difference is it has 2 pair inputs with right and left channels so you can keep your balance and fader control. On your head unit. Quick question no do you know if my head unit output to this is 2 volts through the RCA and I increase the gain on one channel will it increase the output voltage too that RCA? I need to hit 5 v for my amplifier input sensitivity. I've also read that taramps like to have their gain turned up a little bit. So in your opinion should I leave the input voltage to the a little bit lower? And also my smart3bass amp will not allow you to turn the crossovers off so should I turn the high pass filter all the way down and the low pass filter all the way up in order to use this DSP crossover? Thanks for your time

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  Рік тому

      Yes it will boost voltage slightly so if you want to keep the voltage on the output rca’s T a certain voltage turn up to mace listening head unit volume and check the output from the DSP and adjust the gain to where it stays where you’d want it. From what I remember at max output gain it boosted a 2v rca input to around 5v. And yes the taramps seem to do better with a lower voltage input signal. Around 2 volts . You can go higher or lower some guys run like 7 volts and some 1.5v but to me they do better with lower input voltage so you can turn the amp gain knob up more. High voltage makes them “ jumpy”.

      This has more adjustability for sure. But the Pioneer is a good basic DSP plus the Pioneer has a built in amp to replace your head unit power for your door speakers if you need that then its good but otherwise the Expert or comparable DSP is more tweakable.

    Do you use 1 pair of FULL RANGE RCA's from the head unit to INPUT on the DSP? And from that you get full sound even the subwoofer sound? My head unit has 3 pairs of RCA's and one of those pairs is a dedicated sub output.
    and use DEFEAT or else set everything to 0 on head unit?
    Also, is the AudioControl Epicenter still useable on the sub output to the sub amp ?
    Thanks, maybe somebody else has these questions too. 😃

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  2 роки тому +3

      the DSP controls all the channels so you would not use the factory sub output. You would just use the 2 main RCA in and then configure the DSP to output the sub channel.

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  2 роки тому

      This has 6 controllable outputs. They can be configured MONO or you can output them as left and right as a pair. So if you had them all set as stereo outputs then there would be 3 outputs. But it is customizable. There is also 1 pair ( Left / right ) pass thru outputs. ( where they are outputs but not running on DSP ) . So it just depends on how many and how your amps are set up. for example you could set it up to where you use 1 mono or stereo output for your sub amp , and you can have 2 stereo outputs for 2 full range amps. You can use any combination of the output channels.
