I wish the Protecta/Striker shotgun had it's real FULL reload animation in the game. For those that don't know, you have to manually eject each spent shell with the ramrod attached under the barrel, like an old Colt single action army revolver, AND you have to wind the clock spring that moves the cylinder before shooting after each reload. It's like a 30+ second reload for a TRAINED shooter.
Shhhhhh don't tell the ATF. They're proud of banning that gun xD
Then up the Shell count
That was for the street sweeper variant, so it could be imported in the 1980s until the ATF banned them anyway, the armsel protecta actually ejects automatically after each shot after firing, the eject rod is still there, but only to clear a jam, but with the street sweeper, you have to eject them manually
The rod is there for tge last round since it uses gas to eject
Yea but you'd get sick of that long reload after seeing it for awhile
Most guns are broken due to modders' lack of gun knowledge. For instance Rex is a double action revolver, there is no point for pulling the hammer after each shot than magically have it on double action.
I mean... there actually IS a point. Use a double action gun, and then set then hammer and use it as if it were single action. There is a HUGE difference in feel and weight of the trigger pull. It's to be precise and accurate using double action, with the extremely heavy weight of pull, and setting the hammer first leads to a light and crisp break.
If you were up close and personal, enough to where point shooting would suffice, then yeah, just pull and shoot. But trying to shoot accurately at a longer distance, it would definitely be beneficial to set the hammer first.
Its a limitation of the engine.
@@toastbrains1471 faking the hammer to act like a double action is possible, but you can't have the trigger pull delay like in CSGO
Oh and btw, mohammed

Yeah It makes me laugh when according to this game 7.62x25 Is weaker than 9x18 LMFAO
The problem with many weapon mods is trying to apply "realism" to the stat distribution. One school of thought is if it fires a certain round that round should do the same damage in every weapon. Which is more of less how the real world works. The problem is you put that round in a slow fire or slow reload weapon and leave the damage the same it just pushes everyone to a faster firing or faster reloading weapon.
In real life a faster firing/faster reloading AR/Pistol beats most other options, it makes for a bad game balance. A lot of the weapons in the game are not usable compared to other options and you end up just looking for the best do-it-all AR you can find.
Most first party game devs ship weapons with pluses and minuses to promote a diverse set of weapons and playstyles. A revolver is slower than an auto-loading pistol so the revolver will have higher damage and or range and rewards careful shot placement. The auto-loading pistol does less damage and has less range/accuracy but allows you to dump a lot of rounds quickly, reload and move on. It's a balance not based in reality, but it does promote a broader set of playstyles.
Weapons do deal more or less damage depending on the gun, the damage stat just doesn't change because of a visual issue. It has something to do with the bullet's velocity and the gun's flatness, so a gun with a large barrel will deal more damage than one with less accuracy.
That aside, I don't entirely disagree, but you have to keep in mind that the weapons are also balanced by their rarity and how easy it is to craft one. Another thing he didn't seem to mention here is the weight of the weapon, which is understandable considering it's not that big of a deal on most weapons, but on short weapons that trade their stats for low weight, it should be mentioned.
Accurate list IMO. But sometimes I like to take on bad guns just for the challenge.
If every gun was good, then no gun is good.

VSSK used to be good. It was a 150dmg sniper that pierced class V like paper.
Obviously, the same round dealing 51 damage when fired from one gun and 150 from another is absurd, so it was balanced.
yeah, wish roudns had proper balrrel length = damage scaing kinda...
@@any1aliveThey actually do
I'm surprised to see the K98 on the list as it fairly rips through lightly armoured opponents in the early game. You'll want to ditch it before you go on the brainscorcher, tho
Been using it exclusively, I like bolt sniper so much I finished gamma with it.
Lol i messed up and had to use it to escape the brain scorcher. Headshots and AP ammo.
@@bookcoda5506same
you know what also rips through lightly armoured opponenets?
basically everything(especially) including other snipers that are also capable of dealing with armored enemies
It has horrendous penetration, all rifles do better and I think even smg do better.
“Ithaca” 💀

@@EvilDarkForcesRus it hurt us all

Pretty much agree with this list except 1 thing and the other was somewhat neglected. 1. The UMP-45 this gun and the controversies.. Anyway, it may be hard to get, (not as bad as the Vector) but it does its job well. .45 is gonna be most peoples go to for mutant killing and that it does well. Most don't like it because of the slower fire rate, but that is something good about it, instead of spamming ammo at something and wasting money, you can save ammo and money for it. 2. The Kar98K, this is basically an equivalent to the Mosin (if you play GAMMA) and works well into mid game. Yea the rounds aren't as good at penetration but this is more of a starter weapon anyway. Also in GAMMA at least it has an upgrade that modernizes it, with the ability to add a suppressor and bigger mags. This should have been included since it gives more life to it then the mosin.
You should always consider mag redux tho, I like the Rex early game just cause I don’t stuff my outfit with pistol mags
I ended up using the protecta for quite some time and I actually like it, despite the reload. Usually 12 rounds were indeed enough, and in the cases where it wasn't I could run around without getting hit much while reloading. My next upgrade was a saiga but it almost felt like a downgrade considering that the 6 round reload was a bit long, the equip animation was long, and of course it sucked to have a halved capacity.
Also the revolver has an upgrade that allows it to use a red dot sight, which makes it a lot more useable.
Mp412 is the budget deagle WITH red dot capability. Besides 6 rounds in the cylinder, it is a great pistol early/mid game for mutants smaller than fractures imo.
Thanks for being the only tuber to make these videos
Anything with HP rounds is just as good against mutants smaller than fractures.
If you don't find a merc with .45 in Cordon, you can stick to a 9×19. These will have good firerate, nice accuracy, and some guns can later be upgraded to fit red dots.
Why bother with a gun difficult to repair and hard to find bullets for?
The TOZ-106 (2 shot variant with the wire stock), while objectively pretty bad, has a few redeeming qualities.
It's ammo is dirt cheap to buy, it's accuracy is pretty damn fine, and even with it using buckshot only it's spread is tight enough to one tap things like dogs and cats from long range, and even stalkers if their helmet isn't super strong.
While it won't save you from many things bigger than a boar, it can commonly two shot them if you don't flub the aim.
Doesn't make it great, but for the early game when you bring it with you into the zone for 50 points, it makes it a respectable enough starting weapon I think.
Lemme know what you think.
I agree, it’s my early game workhorse
Early game I would rather use a 12 gauge like the TOZ34.
I think you're still better off taking a double barrel. It'll be useful a lot longer.
The only time I ever use the LMGs in Gamma is when I raid the Brain Scorcher, Monolith hq for the main story quest, and the CNPP. The large magazines are a life saver when you have like ten Monolith troops all coming around the corner at the same time
Would you make another gun list that "you wish you could carry it around but it's just not good enough"? For me it's the Howa type 20 😅
Iam always get crash when i install efp weapons pack do you know what should I do?
2:15 "ITH-uh-kuh." It's a dactyl with descending emphasis on each syllable. The company's named after Ithaca, New York.
2:21 Should hold five. Four in the tube plus one in the chamber. How'd they screw that up?! They got the reload animation right with the player character cycling the first shell into the chamber instead of the last, so there's no excuse for it to have the wrong capacity. Fun fact: The Ithaca 37 Stakeout is the gun Michael Biehn used in 'Aliens' when he played Dwayne Hicks. It was his backup weapon and was also a family heirloom with its own backstory, so you could say it was a Legendary weapon. He blows a xenomorph's brain out the back of its head with it.
2:44 Ian McCollum would probably back you up on that.
3:00 Fortunately, you can interrupt the reload by pressing your fire key. In Killing Floor, you can interrupt a single-loaded gun's reload with the aim key.
3:28 20-gauge, 2.75". Its full metric designation would be 15.6x70mm. 12-gauge would be 18.5mm (70mm standard, 76mm Magnum). 20-gauge is no slouch IRL. Packs about 75% as much punch as a 12-gauge with about half the recoil. That's why old-timers used to say "twenty is plenty." There's also 16-gauge which does most of what a 12 can do with recoil comparable to a 20, so you'd think it would have have become a lot more popular. First shotgun I ever fired (when I was a teenager in the '90s) was a single-shot 16-gauge. It was a lot like the one Bruce Campbell used in 'The Evil Dead' except that one was 20-gauge.
4:14 Russians actually classify it as an SMG despite its caliber, but they don't factor caliber into their nomenclature. At least not for that particular classification. Only doctrine of use.
4:25 Yeah, that's dumb. The stock would only be folded for storage. Out in the field, you'd just leave the stock unfolded and ready for use. The only exception would be if you're a downed pilot (or helicopter crewman) and you had one of those in a hip holster. Yeah, that was a thing.
5:35 It was fine in standard-issue Anomaly.
5:55 The Val and the Vintorez both use the same mags and they come in 10, 20, 30-round capacity. The core S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games "balance" them by giving the Vintorez a 10-round mag and the Val a 20-round mag. Mods maintain it maybe out of "tradition."
6:14 Which both rawk in standard-issue Anomaly.
6:35 "Belts" or "belt boxes." The RPD's belt box could also be called a "belt can" or "belt canister."
7:04 I always convert it to 7.62 NATO (which the Israelis actually did way back in the day).
7:18 Why does the player character open the bolt after the last shot, then close it, then open it again before reloading?! NO ONE does that IRL! The Mauser 98 has a bolt stop, so you don't have to bother counting your rounds. The bolt will hold back after the last shot, so you immediately know that you need to reload. You can also close the bolt by pressing down on the follower. SO many games get this wrong. It's been going on for way too long by this point.
7:35 It's a straight-pull bolt-action, so it should be faster to cycle than that (even before upgrades). Pointless handicap.
The Protecta was a literal game changer for me..
Have you tried other Stalker mods such as NS 2023 or NLC 7? They are really amazing.
MP412 is a different gun when used with optic, it gets rid of the annoying animation and you never lose sight picture. Not only that, it also resets recoil after shots faster than deagle so you can follow up on your shots way faster
You have my respect for covering worst options, a rarely discussed topic.
If not min-maxing (as I tend to play) it is more important to know what to avoid, rather than what to strife for.
Even if you won't minmax, many options here are quite viable. The Itacha stakeout is good if you want to have a firearm with low weight, something that isn't discussed here.
As a person who loves revolvers, I don't really mind the animations of the MP412 and I don't really like the deagle since I find it quite bulky and if you were to fire one IRL you would most likely get a wrist injury from its heavy recoil.
(I know from experience 😢 )
Jo mate love ur vids, but can u do a best helmet list like the last best armor list? I am rly overwhelmed with the game and just got my first gasmask working after 15 hours on my first character 😅
Short answer: The best helmet is the Spartan Helmet and you need a exo-repair kit to fix it. On my way to it, I always go with the higher radiation protection on helmets/masks, so I don't waste costly meds and food just to counter the rads.
Sure, I'll get round to doing it sometime.
Type 63 is so rare, I've never picked it up before
i've picked it up many times mainly from bandit or renegades
Calls M249 bad, instantly shreds all enemies without going trhough half a mag
I kind of disagree with the one about type 62. It's meant to be used as a SKS on longer distances and full auto in close quarters, where the recoil is not problematic
ı do think you should add ''GAMMA'' at the end as weapon effectiveness can varry a lot between Anomaly, Anomaly modpacks and Main 3 Stalker games.
MP412 is a guilty pleasure of mine, I know that almost any 9mm or 45acp will outclass it, not even taking deagles in consideration, but it's the only revolver in the game, and sometimes you just crave to run around in shitty red jacket at max speed pretending to be Zone's own cowboy sheriff
lmao how dare you roast Strelock like that😂🤣
You should put a warning at the start of the video that says "Warning opinions ahead!" I almost went full Wehrmacht with what you said about the UMP lmao. but jokes aside I tend not to go hard against the double barreled shotguns, I mean, they're starter weapons meant to kill mutants faster and make good early money for it (I think I'm not the only one who does that), and about the UMP... having a considerably light secondary capable of killing mutants with pistol rounds (hydrashock is just too good) is something I look for in late game.
I honestly like K98 everytime I pick it up it stays with me Idk why but I do not question it anymore :)
Hey, the UMP is my go to mutant killer before i get my grubby little hand on a Kriss later on. automatic .45 ACP Hydroshock is amazing and Mercs tend to drop these.
Oh man I hate the VSSK so much. It's an advanced gun too so you never really get to use it until late game. And when you do finally get to fix up the literal tube with a gun attatched to it, all you feel is dissapointment.
It became my Truck Cemetery gun, just to make a tiny bit use of it, after I fixed it. (Found one with good barrel)
I feel like the Thompson should be rated lower than the ump because it atleast can take sights and recoils is nice.
Thompson can take a 50 round mag and fires faster. But yeah 25 round mag thompson is worse.
Can Type 63 even spawn? I knew about this gun for a long time, but after lots of playthroughs I have never found it not in stashes nor on stalkers.
Days without dumping on Strelok's hairline: 0
Same
I think you are correct, atleast for GAMMA
This is cool and all, but when is the worm economy vid coming out?
soon
TOZ-106 is the actual worst weapon in the game if you play with mags. The amount of upkeep you have to do with 2 round mags in absurd.
the itthacuh shotgun is killing me
Agree on all weapons but i wish gamma had done a bether job with rex, i rly like that revolver because i dont need to use mags, saves me weight.
i actually give the VSSK, Lapua and Gauss to my Master or legend companion so they can 1 shot everything in the game. because i dont want the game to feel way to easy if i use it.
VSSK is 100% 1 shot if head shot with AP and 2 shots in the face normal amo, 3 shots in the side/back of helmet. (not including mutants)
i think they should add 50 BMG or similar Russian shells(i think there are 2 in real life 1 similar and 1 above) to the game because why not since we already have big shells like mentioned earlier.(that way my Nosrog companion could blow a giant head off in 1 hit, im ready to pay for his ammo haha)
btw i noticed that companion AI only works somewhat well when they are Master or legend any less and their accuracy suffers greatly(like they miss point blank shots lol)
50bmg is 12.7×99mm the Russian one is 12.7×108mm
im south african and im so proud that my country made a gun most people like :D... dont talk about the reload ok
nOoooOOOoooO UmP iS tHe BeSt GuN!!11one1!one!!
on a serious note, i agree with you on the list, most guns either use a bad round, or have horrendous ironsights, the armsel is usable, just looks goofy.
also, why you gotta do my boi zdrelog like that dogeKEK
Strelok had it coming
The chapters show you might have some vitriol for the Toz-66

I have to disagree with the toz 66 being here due to the fact that all double barrels have this cool factor that outweigh any con
I love the AKSU. Can´t hit things past 300 meters. But I rarely shoot at anything 300 meters away
The worst gun in stalker is every gun i use because i can't aim
Use the Kar (I misaligned it)
The only good thing about the ump45 is that it was in the matrix lol
The Armsel shotguns kinda suck IRL too, not to mention they're twice as slow to reload IRL as well so not a bad choice there.
I play stalker anomaly all day everyday with my wack PC at the lowest of graphics but boi do I love this game to death.
UMP45 get access to hydra shock 45 ACP my dude and its low fire rate get fixed with upgrades the only thing bad about is the 25 round mag cause u cant switch mags in gamma sadly :C
Still waiting for a mod to add a Zip .22 to dethrone ALL these guns in this video. It could be the real challenge gun run of the game
YOU ROCK!!!1!!!!11!
3:53 Imagine they make ump9 just to troll-
This game needs a balance like how bf4 did with there guns
My Weapon Favorite Is Toz-66
Good thing about UMP45 is that it uses .45 ACP, which is dirt cheap to get from Butcher in Garbage. Other than that, it's pretty shit for even medium armored targets due to the lack of AP ammo type (Misery had Depleted Uranium).
Which makes UMP45 a good weapon to just carry around for shit like Dogs, Cats, Boars, Fleshes, and etc.
Which is outclassed by a .45 ACP pistol carrying Hydroshok, but money...
Shut up Strelok is beautiful
Moxy is so alpha he dared anyone who disagrees to come to his stream to send death threats lol
the toz 106 will carry you thru half of the game if you have the mags addoon enabled
VSS is meant to be a sniper rifle!
Then why is the bullet so slow :(
@@nullmoxyBecause its a subsonic bullet. Its meant to never pierce the speed of sound, so enemy cant hear the whizzle you normally hear when bullets fly near you. Educate dummy furry
You’re all about conserving as much ammo as possible, but hate the UMP45? Damn
I disagree about the k98 and striker as the k98 is the best of the starter options bandits do not need high pen bullets. The striker reload might be bad but you know whats worse... the Toz-66 sawn off. It is the equivalent of talking badly about the ak74u when your choices are either that or a pm.
"I dislike the VSSK" yeah but you failed to take the SCHK SHAKC into consideration!
The k98s accuracy is also extremely bad. Its a waste of money and weight. The only targets you'd be interested in sniping are armored targets which this gun can't pen
I use the UMP exclusively to mutants.
VSS is more of sniper rifle than assault.
Personally all the .357 firearms seems wildly underwhelming even against mutants
Dunno, I have Steppe eagle as a sidearm in most of my runs and it does its job well.
The desert eagle is decent at killing packs of dogs/cats. (And is fun to use)
The UMP for me is one of the best guns for mutant killing, pair it with HS rounds and it's basically what I use for mutants
The UMP is probably the best starter weapon, and the MP5 Frasier gives the same experience, just better.
@@Thor.Jorgensen i agree. I still use it all the time even in the final missions
@@user-qt9kc1jt7s Oh yeah, especially since you can get dirt cheap hydrashock bullets from Butcher in Garbage, and now even more so because crafting hydrashock bullets now costs fewer resources.
I use the Fraiser now when I am out to get a lot of money, so I can use the more fun stuff later. Calling it my economy loadout.
6:43 violation
Not sure why the Ithaca has much worse accuracy than the sawn-off DB
I spit on makarov pistols and it's pellet bullets, I'd rather anything else
hahahaha, I find the handling of amsel protecta strange and bad, and despite being a semi automatic it shoots really slow, I do better with remington 870 than protecta
just like the ithaca, this tier list has an accuracy rating of 24% which is funny because there are guns that i almost agree with you on, but your logic on why theyre bad is so ass backwards lmao
when people who never fired a weapon make mods and do "realism" that sends your view to sky after 4 shots
Thiccness expert at 4:42
Toz 106 is doubly bad in EFP because it wastes magazine slots.
It has a 4round mag in EFP, though. Doesn't make it much better, but it's cheap as dirt and much better than not having any main weapon at all.
I really don't understand the pistol balance in the mods for this game. There are no useable 9x18s. It's something you can't really even use in the opening game. They just frustrate new players.
9x18 hp isn't too bad for mutants.
Any shotgun is a good gun.
Ducks are the dumbest birds to exist :clueless:
True
Ump is overhyped. I wish the Scorpion EVO was in the game
There is a mod that adds it to the game. Sidirovich sells it, and it uses mp5 mags, so you just save up a bit and have it right away. It's basically an mp5 with higher RoF.
ПБ хорош в самом начале, бандитов в куртках шлепать
1. AKMS is GOOD. perfectly fine accuracy, handling and recoil. gets the job done. early game 7.62. Also, the 4x scope on this becomes 7-8x for some reason; this makes it a very good early game sniper/dmr, unless it is your primary.
2. The Ash is not a VSSK alternative. Damage isn't even close and it is limited to 4x magnification max (in GAMMA). Seriously? Do you even take these into account?
Why use the VSSK when there’s other snipers with ammunition that is significantly more plentiful?
@@brawler5760 I wasn't recommending the VSSK, just stating that ASH is not comparable in any way. Also, those snipers you imply are extremely rare, and nowhere to be found even mid-game. L96 AWSM and above are all very rare even late game, and you'll find them in Zaton, Outskirts, etc. The earlier findings down south will be L96A1, SV98, etc. which are less than 2/3 of the VSSK damage but have superior optics.
The makarov is the best gun in the game.

"Weak 7.62x25 round"......Are you aware that this is still to this day one ofthe strongest pistol caliber ? With massive energy and penetration it hascompetition only in 5.7 calibers. It's sad that Gamma displayed it so poorly, but irl i would Rather get shot by anything else than Tokarev
I read long time ago, that Polish policemen did quite a prank to the marketer, who was marketing Izraeli made soft body armours. They punched through stacked up, three 3a vests with TT-33. The thing is, they used 7,62x25 Tokarev... but it was AP smg round, designed to fired from a PPSh.
And i watched a similiar thing on shooting range. Instructor asked the girl, if she want more "umph" from the TT, she agreed, so he loaded the pistol with fmj smg ammo. That thing "roared" and kicked like a Deagle!
5.7 and 7.62x25 are weak when the main factor of a handguns power is its tissue damage. Sure the round is fast and good against armor, but it does less damage.
