- Wavey sets off to see if a relic of a rifle can best the horrors of the zone.
The challenge is simple: beat the Lost to the Zone mission set.
(Not doing Mortal Sin & Operation Afterglow)
These are our basic rules:
1. No serious cheating mods
2. Difficulty setting stay set to default values
3. Mosin only. Knife can be used, but sparingly.
4. Fast travel on visited only, stealth kills enabled.
5. Debug Mode disabled
(FYI, I do break #2 at some point.. oh well)

The Mosin is a pretty powerful weapon, what I want to see is if you can beat the game with a Makarov.
The even better challenge is beating the game with just a knife,
Any 9mm pistol or 7.62x25 pistol
thats actualy posibru and one of the biggest flexes in the Zone
you should get a achievment like 'spetnasz', 'degtyarev' or smth

The two rookie stalkers became literally legends they went to disable the miracle machine and brain scorcher without a special helmet

The Zone can break your mind, but it can never break friendship and cameraderie.

They accept to kill some boars or blind dogs instead they had an unexpected journey
"Can I beat the game with a weapon that can shut down an engine block?" "If you can't, that's because you missed your shots, cause that's a big-boi round and if you're made from flesh, it's lethal."
As you said in your own comment, it can kill an engine block, so being made of flesh isn't necessary to die from the Moistest of Nuggets.

I'm so glad people are finally doing challenges in this game
A harder challenge. Finish the UNISG campaign before it’s December in the game, using only a PKM (you may spawn it into your inventory via debug at the start) with only PP ammo, without using the disguise system, fast travel or any companions other then on missions that force it.
when ya play anomaly with a gun mod id ont reemmber what you can spawn with it in your inv. just about every gun is in the options so i got a nugget and just need a scope for it.
I was wondering when somebody would do Mitten Squad-style challenges for STALKER, pretty good stuff.
I remember an old playthrough of mine as Clear Sky, I used a scoped Mosin for about half of the game, named it 'Vasily' after a famous WW2 Soviet sniper, god, I miss it... One thing I'll say about bolt-actions is that they really make you aim far more carefully than with normal rifles, just due to how sluggish they are, the carefulness helps conserve ammo.
Anyways, if I may recommend a challenge that's been on my mind for a while:
Can you beat Anomaly as a Soviet Shock Trooper?
-You're restricted to the PPSh-41 as your primary weapon.
-Grenades (and lots of them) and melee are your only other form of attack besides it.
-You may only wear combat-oriented suits and armours.
-You have to aggressively engage the enemy in close-quarters combat at all times, no tickling them from afar.
Hope you do more of these challenges, mate.

good to know because i started with it (got the one gun mod so it allows me to spawn with it senese im nut dumb im also got an axe for the sakes of melee.
But there wasn't a Mosin in the original Clear Sky... there weren't any bolt-action rifles at all
Killing Eidolon was such a funny experience for me, I snuck into Pripyat unnoticed and threw exactly one F-1 grenade into the palace of culture. Eidolon died immediately.
I just recently attacked the palace of culture with 12 companions lmao

Well I try this challenge once and after getting my ass kick about 12 time at the cordon military outpost, I just switch to ppsh.
@@mentosvagabond I've done this challenge too before but using Kar98 and M1911 pistol as my sidearm. Turns out it's more frequent to be close combat than long one and here the M1911 mostly become my main gun 😂 than the Kar98 especially when you need to take down more than 2 enemy or....... a pack of rats.........

In EFP the starter mosin consistently 1 tapped renegades so if you have good ammo, you'll be painting the walls with grey matter like a demented Bob Ross.

Yep, surprisingly a mosin + ppsh combo is already good enough to handle most mutants and lightly armored stalkers

I just installed Stalker Anomaly today and I’ve jumped at darn near everything, from friendlies shooting at mutants to cats running at me through the brush. Can say 10/10 more jump scares to come lol. Your how to download stalker anomaly vid was really helpful too!
Cool stuff, love stalker challenge videos. Here's my idea - Bandit Squad Challenge: break action shotguns only, as many as you can/want to carry. Leather jacket only. Start with at least 5 companions, can acquire more, no limit. Disguise ok, no fast travel.
Edit: sorry if you've already done something like this, I'm too lazy to look 🤷♀️

I love challenges like this. Recently I managed to beat CoP with only the starting pistol.
If I remember correctly it took over 200 rounds to kill the psuedo giant in the lab. Aside from that and any snipers it's actually somewhat fun.
Next challenge - beat stalker anomaly mortal sin missions with a PMM.

Bro. Mosin was my favourite go to weapon up to the end of my first gameplay. It is just satisfying to shoot.
It is also pretty powerfull against human oponents. Even more than automatic weapons I would say.

Mosin is by far my favourite weapon, good looking, cheap and easy to maintain and fairly common ammo. it's powerful with and without a scope and just a great allrounder until the late game.

Just a random note, the game usually crashes when your companions can't follow you, especially in labs. But if you use the wait command on them, you're fine. Nice video tho!

Lol that’s not a cheat. Makes it like any other RPG where they get incapacitated instead of just dying.
Cheats would make them invincible, so they fight back the whole time.

I kept them out of spite, but they got me killed quite a few times lol
I would recommend making the brightness higher in post so we can see better, it is pretty hard to see sometimes. Overall pretty nice video.
Funny, cause i already do that. STALKER is naturally dark tho, if i push it much more than the brighter spots look washed out

I literally constantly use mosin nearly all of the time, not because im limiting myself, but because It is actually OP and one hits any human and or weak enemy. I'd still carry a DB shotgun for emergencies and a custom handgun.
Only problem is, the ammo is hella expensive.

Took me a year to get around to these types of videos, but it was so much fun to do!
I had an intense and very lucrative firefight in Zaton, in the electric substation where the gauss was being researched. The loot was too heavy but I didn't want to leave my hard earned stuff behind, so instead I put everything on a corpse and dragged the corpse all the way back to the Skadovsk ship.
Now that’s dedication to the cause!!

Everyone I hire or do a quest with would not enter these zones.
When you hire people, they’ll typically say “i won’t go to labs or monolith territories”
Those goobers were part of an escort mission. So they didn’t have a choice

When I killed eidolon for the first time I put 4 full mags of ak103 rounds into him, was hella confused how he was standing after the first mag but I just kept shooting, didn’t realise he was the important one I had to kill until I noticed the loot and checked the name.

I tried to do it too, and for the most part I do well with the Mosin since with the tagged patches mod, I also track how much I kill - with the Mosin alone I had killed 13 Military, around 27 Bandits, 9 Mercs, 6 Renegades, and 2 Freedom with just the Mosin
Though i abandoned the run and switched to the TOZ-34 beloved because I somehow couldn’t resist
Did a shotguns only run recently. Loved it, you can turn your Vepr 12 into a pretty good one-shotting AR substitute. Fucking recoil though.

Literally just starting the video and I'm beyond sure homeboy is gonna have a brutal time with the mission that you spend with Strelok and his boys. The mission fails if even a single one of them dies and you're fighting a whole ass army. Unless that's a different mission set.
We worked around it a bit by using a mod that makes sure the companions get incapacitated, not killed.

Hey there, I am trying to get the game to look like yrs but i cant get past the antialiasing problems. It seems like it just doesnt work... Trees and grass flickers, edges are jagged and both vertical and horizontal objects flicker as I move :( . Most noticeable and ugly thing is the powerlines. Do you use any nvidia settings or something ?
If there's flickering, there could be all sorts of issues beyond just the settings.
The way I set this up was with the high preset in the advanced video options.
I then set sun rays and shadows lower, and turn on the appropriate ambient occlusion. I use HDAO, because of my AMD card.
From there I have the PROSPERITY ReShade, using the 'Medium - Anomaly' preset
And I also have the reworked texture pack from EFP in here

Dude, of course you can. I choose Mosin over Remington, SVD or any other rifle. With AP rounds it onetaps any enemy even in Exoskeletons (with headshots). Take your time and yes - you can very much beat it. My main go-to weapon, and that's not a challenge but normal playthrough.
Knowing the AI behaviour is half the battle, other half is just good aim.
Using a pistol it takes like 3 9mm rounds to the dome to take out some of the more heavily armored enemies. I found that they tend to mostly be hard to take out in areas with lots of forested areas. Don't think it's possible to do it with a knife though takes too many hits, they melee you back tossing off your aim, and also shoot you point blank. Though I could imagine you can do it with a pistol.

I have a problem with game FOV, the weapons very tight and i don't like how it looks .. anyone know a mod for that? I see on streams or other yt vids and the weapons looks normal but for me are very tight i play on 1920x1080 16:9 maybe for that?
