- Offered for sale is this gorgeous example of the XLR Roadster from Cadillac, a 2008 in Triple Black with only 56K miles and a 1-owner CarFax. This stunning car has been babied and garaged since new, and driven by mature, affluent owners. The exterior is all original, and the interior leather and trim are immaculate. Features include dual heated power leather seats with driver memory, Heads-Up Display, In-Dash CD/DVD/Navigation/Sirius, a Northstar V8 putting out 320HP, and a six speed automatic gearbox. From top to bottom, this is as clean an XLR as you're going to find, and everything is working properly.
I remember car and driver said this was a corvette that had gone to finishing school! Love it!

Always thought it was a shame they never sold these here in the UK. The Corvette is rare and doesn't have a particularly good image over here, Cadillac still has an air of class despite the fact they barely import anymore. The STS was the last car over here that sold in any decent numbers.
An RHD XLR would've provided a nice alternative to the Mercedes-Benz SL and the British people are generally going to ve more willing to support an American manufacturer over a German one. Plus its a great looking car and the Northstar sounds wonderful.

Triple Black is not a paint description, it refers to 1 black in color outside, 2 black upholstery inside and 3 a black vinyl or convertible top.
Nowadays it refers to black wheels. Chrome wheels do black cars no favors.

Their Northstar motor is crap. Get a corvette C5 , pay less , go faster and get a much more reliable motor.

@ Humunculo Mexicano, they are available in used markets. They are no longer being manufactured by GM
It's too bad it took GM so long to work out the bugs in the Northstar. Would have great if Cadillac had a 32 valve V8 throughout the the 2000s and 2010s .
They should have used the LS series motor of the time, it was was superior to the Northstar. Car looks cool though.

Window tint doesn't count. You can have non tinted windows with black wheels, black body color, and black interior and still be "Murdered Out" aka triple black.
All good til things break on these. A nice LS would be a great upgrade for this car...

Don't mean to be out of the loop but what is this blackwing you are talking about because I just happen to have a Northstar in my 05 xlr.. I have thourely enjoyed the car regardless of reviews or opinions about the car.. I have driven it for 3 years now and I have to say I enjoy driving it every time I climb into it...
Now I have never been a man that would even give a Cadillac a second glance because I was never drawn to luxery rides such as lincon and automobiles of that nature ..
I'm the 69 - 70 Chevelle SS . 69 til around 78 is the years that most appeal to me and have had a lot of nice rides but Cadillacwould have been my last choice at any time in my life because they weren't all that appealing but when I saw the XLR sitting there I really liked the stance of the car .. and after I got to driving the car over the past 3 years it has not once gotten old or become just driving the car... You know what I'm sayn it's las much fun to drive today as it was the day I got it...
Now it's not the fastest thing on the road but don't be fooled it don't take back seat by no means next the average car on the road.. and it may not be a race car but it goes fast enough I don't worry about the difference . Lol. .
Being able to come out if the hole quick sometimes can make a difference between getting away smoothe and clean or dragging around and not doing so well .
Anyways was courious about the blackwing? Guess I could look into it.

You're not triple black. Your wheels aren't black. Triple black is aka "Murdered Out".
Sucks to see the attempt to be similar to the Corvette that they decided to throw in the northstar
They fixed the short head bolt problemi in 2000 and then went to a coarser head pitch in 2004.

No. Hand built supercharged 4.4 liter v8. Was not the 4.6 North Star vat engine. The 4.4 was much better and more reliable

Norstar is the WORSE engine Cadillac ever produced. Never buy a Cadillac with a Norstar engine. I learned the hard way. Ask any mechanic about the Norstar you will be hard to find any of them say anything good about them
