Hey everyone! Thanks for watching this one. I’ve been experimenting with a couple of different styles for my videos. In addition to “music only” cooks like this one, I also do videos with no talking or music. Just the sounds happening in the backyard. Of course I also do traditional videos where I’m on screen explaining the steps, giving tips, etc. Which style do you enjoy most?
This is a great video. Not trying to push any technique or method (not that I don't enjoy those), but this is just for the joy and love of smoking meat on a Weber. Cheers!
Yes! You totally get it, lol! I don’t do my videos in this style all the time-most of my videos are narrated with some music in spots where I’m not speaking- but when I do it’s about exactly what you said; just celebrating the peaceful, relaxing vibe of throwing some meat on the grill. I have a few with no talking OR music, just the sounds happening in and around the backyard. Be sure and check those out too.
I’ve been strongly considering doing two versions of my videos, man. One the regular way with full narration/explaining, and another shorter version with just footage and nice music. I just finished one for the salmon video and it’s really nice. I’m strongly considering quoting your great comment somewhere on these videos man. Maybe in the description, or even on screen. I love how you explained it because it’s the vibe I’m looking for.
Hey there... new follower and new again to grilling. Is there somewhere I could maybe find your standard recipes for grilling a pork butt, like for how long and the temp of the meat, and how long did it take for you to grill it? I saw you had a temperature on there, but I could not tell what it was. Thanks!
Hi Stacie! A big cut of meat like Pork Butt should be smoked, not grilled. But that's probably what you meant. As far cooking temperature, anywhere between 225-275 is fine. When cooking you always want to cook to internal temperature, not to time. One day a pork butt could take 8 hours, another day it could take 12. Most people will smoke the Butt uncovered until it reaches around 165 internal temp, then cover it in foil or a foil covered pan. From there you'll want to take it up to around 200-205 internal temperature. When smoking a big piece of meat like a Pork Butt it can enter what's called a "stall". That's when the internal temperature stops rising for a long period of time. To push past that some people smoke their meat at a higher temperature, closer to 275 rather than 225. Not to mention it just takes much longer the lower you smoke it. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions ask away.

Music is a great accompaniment to this video. Nicely done Ron
Thanks man! I’m very pleasantly surprised at how well it’s doing.

@@RonOnTheGrill That's awesome, man. By all means use the quote, and use it as your own. Your great video inspired my words.
Hey Ron, you can shred some of that meat, put it in a soft taco shell with cheese, refried beans, salsa etc.
That would be Slammin' to.

Oh yeah, there are endless ways to use a Pork Butt.
