The M3 RWD is an incredibly compelling product right now. I think most people can´t see it, mostly because of range anxiety, they fail to see that they are going to be perfectly fine. In Europe, with our fuel prices, it is VERY HARD to think of a better alternative if one is thinking of buying a new car and price is a decision factor)
I heard a bunch of people complaign about the missing display behind the wheel, and obviously they havent driven the mini or a bunch of other cars with centre displays. But having driven my friends tesla for a week, i found a super cheep solution, a $15 magnetic phone holder. I stuck y phone horizontally downloaded a gps speedometer app and it worked perfect.
Jacking the seat height on Easy Entry makes a big difference to entry and exit. The seat sinks to your driving height when you shift into gear and back out into Easy Entry height when you shift into Park. Its amazing they thought of that.

Drive what you have for a little while longer to save up for a Model 3. The tax credits become fully refundable and are applied at purchase in Jan 2024. This means less than $35k for a new Tesla. That's pretty much at your price range, similar size & range to Civic/Corolla but a much better car overall.
Boring has its benefits, but I think that point could be made in a less repetitive manner. I’ll be using your referral points to take a longer drive today. Thanks. (BTW, I like turkey burgers!)
Good review. We have a boring affordable EV hatchback, a 2022 Nissan Leaf plus. For road trips a 2023 Subaru Outback with wireless Apple car play. We passed on a Y because the Outback has better ground clearance for forest service roads.
Doesn’t matter what car you drive, after a year it’s either boring or annoying. You don’t want to think about your car anymore you just want it to work properly.
I mean, a gas car doesn’t really need this advanced of a trip planner. Gas stations are everywhere, fueling up takes 2-4min, phones and/or in-car navigation do all of the GPS work today for finding gas stations easy enough while in route, etc etc. Having an EV right now for road trips is just a bit more complicated. It’s great they’ve minimized it for the users down to a near perfect solution with so much intuitiveness and ease. It took a lot of work…
Except you don’t have a clear of where and when you’re going. If the gas station is even operational or has available stalls. That never happens with a Tesla
Re; Gate keeping: There is a guy on Facebook who comments on almost every post about the RWD, “I see the poors are into Tesla ownership now.” No matter how great something is, sooner or later an asshole will get involved.
I've always said this...the Model 3 is the Honda Civic of EVs...gets the job done. Nothing fancy (although I think it's fancy as hell) and straight to the point.
What about DC fast charging with LFP battery pack, e.g. weekly DC fast charging? Is that okay for long-term battery health, e.g. minimal battery degradation?
I love my 22 model 3 its pretty much loaded, besides a bit better audio system an range, just add a aftermarket harness to unlock your 4 more speakers in the pillar an tweeters in the door. Only downside you do experience battery degradation kind of fast, down 264 was 272 new back in August. almost 10k miles 2.9% but its pretty normal though
Should I go for Dual Motor (AWD) for Seattle? It snows here for hardly 2 weeks in a year. Does anyone have experience driving M3 RWD in snow? Were you able to get through?
I think owning a Tesla used to be the idea of "I'm special, I have a unique car", "I love talking about my car nobody else knows about". Now every 5 or 10 cars you pass in some cities is a Tesla. So the uniqueness is gone. Therefore, your feeling of newness isn't there. It's "boring".
It’s still impressive. Having used both premium and partial-premium interiors, the only things I noticed were the lack of rear surround from the trunk and obviously the lack of subwoofer on the partial premium. If you love bass, crank the bass to 8 and spend some time playing around with the EQ a little; I found placing the balance halfway to the back seats replicated the immersive sound decently well. Don’t let the sound system hold you back it sounds fantastic.
I don’t get why people want “self driving “, especially with such an expense. Cruise control is nice once in a while, and lane keep might be a good idea when you need to use both of your hands, but for the last 50 years I’ve found my left knee/thigh to be fine for lane keeping, so I’m certainly not going to pay for it. Keep all of the sensors, actuators, cameras, computers, screens, …. out of these cars and they might have a more reasonable price tag. I’d love to have a stripped down model 3, with only the essentials, would probably cost $10K - $15K less.
Im really not trying to hate, anyone who thinks teslas are luxury cars is deluded. Its shocking considering the price. Fortunately i dont care about luxury and never will. AC, radio and cooled seats(maybe) is all i need.
I agree on most of your points. I'd go a bit further on the Autopilot critique. For me it's only useful on interstates. My biggest criticism is that it will only let you drive 5 MPH over what it thinks the speed limit is on highways. Unfortunately, my M3 actually thinks it's going 2 MPH faster than it is, so in reality I can only go 3 MPH over the limit unless on interstates. To make it even worse, some highways have incorrect speed data. On a route I drive frequently it thinks the limit is 30 MPH when it's really 55. Ouch! And without auto lane changes it's only useful on the interstate when there's not much slower moving traffic. Tesla wants $6000 for Enhanced AP, but since most of other features it offers don't work it's not worth it.
Not accurate regarding 5 over the speed limit. Use the right scroll to increase (or decrease) the max speed the system is permitted to go up to given traffic conditions. If you have FSD, the max speed can go no higher than 85 mph when FSD is activated.
It is outright silly that the government between state (California) and federal will effectively discount the Model 3 by $15,000. This is a real problem for the Aptera getting investment and coming to market because with only very small state incentives for "e-motorcycles" ($750 in California) they are effectively at a huge artificial price disadvantage. Government policies should not be picking winners they should be offsetting the negative impact of the bad thing (buying new ICE cars). Any alternative including transit, ride sharing, having fewer cars, ebikes etc should be encouraged. If Aptera were to fail as a company I'll probably buy a model 3 within a month.
@@BobbieGWhiz I'm pleased you asked. Everything we buy personally and for business, we look for country of manufacture. If it's China, I look for an alternative brand or model. In the case of iPhone, it's only made in China so I buy it. However, thousands of other products are made in Taiwan, Philippines, Korea, Japan, and elsewhere to avoid China. Also, I sometimes pay slightly more to avoid China, but it's worth it. It's not animosity toward the Chinese people, but toward the CCP.
Your terminology and wording is stupid using the word "boring" in your way is obscured. Having the freedom to charge to 100% without worry is not "boring" it is convenient and nice lmao
While I agree this is good, efficient and relatively affordable vehicle and probably the most sensible offering from Tesla I strongly disagree about that (perceived) luxury part. I would argue this Mosel 3 interior looks worse than 15k budget economy european hatchback. It's simple and I like that, but looks and feel very cheap...
@@MrRandomguyTom All the software features for one. Smart unlock, route planning, remote starting etc The interior design is also more modernist which is much better than any budget hatchback.

Just got my model 3 RWD on June 6th. It was one of their new existing inventories with a price of 37,830 after TTLR 43,3XX. I took delivery with 3 miles on it and I love this car. This is me coming from a 2022 Honda Accord hybrid. Your auto steer comment is spot on and I’m enjoying charging to 100 whenever. For me I charge every other day just bc I don’t feel like I need to charge every day but the option is great.
how long do you have to wait for pickup when ordering off the new inventory?
@@themixednomad for me, it was about 3 days.
And I'm watching 16 mins after uploaded! Neat!
One of the best reviews I’ve seen on any vehicle. Nice job!!
I like it , only issues is the car very low not easy to get out at an older age
That’s one reason I switched to the Model Y.
Jacking the seat height on Easy Entry makes a big difference to entry and exit. The seat sinks to your driving height when you shift into gear and back out into Easy Entry height when you shift into Park. Its amazing they thought of that.
Ive been saving money and at the moment I could go and buy a Model 3 in cash, ik in the long run it would be worth it and I would have my dream car but idk if thats the smartest decision at 20
I wish you guys had the model Y LFP. It's so amazing and affordable.
So do we.
Its coming soon. RWD model Y LFP. Will cost 3k less
Ease of use at the supercharger has to be one of the things I like about having my tesla and i like jumping into a warm car that has been prehated on frosty cold morning hard to beat
I bought my 2023 Model 3 RWD in Nov. 2022 when they cost a lot more. Despite that, I love it. Even though Auto-Pilot sucks, I love the car, overall. It's like going from 300 baud dial-up to 10 Gbps Ethernet. But it's a car.
im currently in the market for a new vehicle as i got my first real job last year, and im just kinda upset we still dont have a normal sedan ev in the 25-30k range. Like if there was an ev version of the civic or corolla Id buy one tomorrow but for some reason Japanese manufacturers are allergic to evs
Isn’t “Upset” quite a strong word?
Drive what you have for a little while longer to save up for a Model 3. The tax credits become fully refundable and are applied at purchase in Jan 2024. This means less than $35k for a new Tesla. That's pretty much at your price range, similar size & range to Civic/Corolla but a much better car overall.
Boring is good
Evs are boring. Perfect daily cars. I wish theyd stop pushing ice out with bans. Its as stupid as banning blackberries because an iPhone exists..

LOL love the Parks reference. Great video as always, Drew! I love my 2021 M3!
Good video, I am not Tesla fan but you have given me a reason to look at the model 3 with LFP. So how does it work in the cold and snow?
It’s called Profound Simplicity, and Conspicuous Value. And it’s absolutely far from boring 🎉
Bought a MYP today. Used your referral code. Thanks for the content :)
Waiting for price to drop further and see what the Highland offer.
How does it handle on rainy days?
I totally agree about the rwd model 3. I bought mine for all the same reasons.
Just got a new RWDM3, loving it!
Any phantom braking?
I love my 22 model 3 its pretty much loaded, besides a bit better audio system an range, just add a aftermarket harness to unlock your 4 more speakers in the pillar an tweeters in the door. Only downside you do experience battery degradation kind of fast, down 264 was 272 new back in August. almost 10k miles 2.9% but its pretty normal though
I think I might swap it for the new model 3. Im using it to travel around on weekends and work every day.
It's a great car period. But some people still hate it for unknown cc reasons.
Should I go for Dual Motor (AWD) for Seattle? It snows here for hardly 2 weeks in a year. Does anyone have experience driving M3 RWD in snow? Were you able to get through?
Great video!!
Lacking no bells or whistles, by the way how is the paint holding up at 16,000 miles is it chipped all up in the front.
Can you do another update?
I think owning a Tesla used to be the idea of "I'm special, I have a unique car", "I love talking about my car nobody else knows about".
Now every 5 or 10 cars you pass in some cities is a Tesla. So the uniqueness is gone. Therefore, your feeling of newness isn't there. It's "boring".
Has the phantom braking issue gotten any better?
Better
Boring? I’m not there with my M3 RWD. Reliable yes, boring no.
How is the sound system in the base model? It’s very important to me.
@@jamesy4626 thanks for the info. It’s been an issue for me because I love music so much and didn’t want to risk it.
@@cl5163 The highs and mids are nearly identical it’s just the low end that lacks some ‘umph’.
Have the same car- just blue. Love it.

Im really not trying to hate, anyone who thinks teslas are luxury cars is deluded. Its shocking considering the price. Fortunately i dont care about luxury and never will. AC, radio and cooled seats(maybe) is all i need.
What’s a dirty grid?
You tell the truth, bless you!
The greatest part of EVs is lack of traditional maintenance of an ICE vehicle.
Model 3 LFP might be the best value in the auto market right now.
16,000 that's it? lol , upvoted!!
My model 3 RWD has more stamina than I do. It's range is fine.
Your Background looks like you were on a Safari in Africa !
Right now, only the Model Y RWD qualifies for the $7500 federal rebate. So the Model Y is the better value right now.
Spot on
Can you get a Tesla with a low credit score
I have a wish list of things I want, but almost all of them can be purchased after market. So it's kind of boring
just wish it was a hatch instead of a sedan
Tesla - the car for non-car people.
+ model 3 is a much better car to drive than the Y tbh
Tesla = iphone, no bells and whistles, everything in the software
I would buy a rear wheel m3 if it’s battery was not made in China. Why can’t Tesla, Panasonic, or LG provide this battery?
That may happen in the future given government incentives/mandates.
How do you manage with zero Chinese made products?
@@BobbieGWhiz I'm pleased you asked. Everything we buy personally and for business, we look for country of manufacture. If it's China, I look for an alternative brand or model. In the case of iPhone, it's only made in China so I buy it. However, thousands of other products are made in Taiwan, Philippines, Korea, Japan, and elsewhere to avoid China. Also, I sometimes pay slightly more to avoid China, but it's worth it. It's not animosity toward the Chinese people, but toward the CCP.
If you want good software go bmw we get pleanty of updates and the software is pretty good
Autopilot needs an update thats for sure
Then nobody would upgrade to the enhanced autopilot.
11 months later and fsd is still waiting too long to stop lol.
If there was an EV with the usual odometer, wheel, and physical buttons...I'd buy in. I don't like the stupid tablet. I like buttons.

While I agree this is good, efficient and relatively affordable vehicle and probably the most sensible offering from Tesla I strongly disagree about that (perceived) luxury part.
