That opening scene is a direct shot for shot remake from the movie Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone. It’s funny how Ace mentions The Shawshank Redemption because Bob Gunton (Burton Quinn) is the warden in that movie. That rhino scene is one of the best moments in cinematic history
Bumblebee Tuna everyone!! When I went to see this at the cinema with my aunt and cousins - I ended up with tears in my eyes and cramps in my stomach. Very, VERY happy day 😊
The Rhino "birth" scene is still a favourite of mine . Carrey is so extra in his behaviour. The opening scene with the raccoon is a parody of the Sylvester Stallone Cliffhanger movie
Fun fact, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang song was totally unscripted. Jim did that off the cuff and the director loved it. You can see the other guy break character at the last second right before they come through the trees.
And when he did that the other guy trying not to laugh but after that he did and left in the movie and im glad they did. Ps in the top ten jim carry unscented in movie and it hit number 6 in it.
Fuck yes. This is one of my favourite movies as a kid. I saw it for thr first time on TV without knowing it was a sequel and didn't see the first one until years later.
Jim Carrey actually didn't like the idea of Ace having fear of bats because he thought it was out of character & he did have an argue with the director about it. Carrey suggested that Ace should have an allergy for bats instead. Even though the batphobia is funny in the movie, I have to agree that the allergy suggestion makes much more sense. Jim really didn't want to do this sequel at all, but he had to because of contract obligation. Jim was one of those actors who didn't like to do sequels & reprise a role, & back then when they were planning to make a The Mask 2 I'm pretty sure he didn't look forward to make it at all, but was very relieved when that movie got cancelled. But when he got older & he wasn't in his heyday anymore, he was more willing to do sequels with Dumb & Dumber 2 & the sequels for Sonic the Hedgehog movie. It was an apple core he took out of the tribes man. There was no point on turning off the lights because it was daytime & it was daylight inside 😂😜
Yes exactly! That’s why he’s the best comedian, because he’s very versatile. He plays different characters in all of his movies and doesn’t like to play the same character twice. The only other comedian who’s just as versatile as him is Robin Williams
The warrior that Ace Ventura flights is one of the cast members on the funny tv show IN LIVING COLOR witch Jim Carrey also appeared on with the Wayne brothers
Ace being trapped in the mechanical rhino and struggling to get out and making it look like the rhino’s giving birth to him is the best and funniest scene! LOL 🤣
"Hello Ace! I got captured, no sweat!" Every scene with Ouda is a delight 😃 he's just so joyful, even when translating the most dire of news. And always so eager to help Ace 😅
Speaking of Bats there was a Sci Fi Thriller from the 90s called bats that’s really good. Ironically the guy who plays Burton Quinn is also in that movie
If it makes you feel better that elephant taxidermy was a plastic replica, they sell them in different poses, including rhino, hippo, walrus and polar bear
This was a good one, but IMO the first one is still the superior movie. Having said that, I can still remember my uncle - who later has a stroke and lost the ability to speak - laughing SO HARD at Ace coming out of the rhinos butt. It's been so long since I heard my uncle's voice, but I can vividly remember his bellowing laugh.
Opinions..was this better than part 1? I'd say so.. was waaaaay smarter.. ace ventura is something jim could reboot and it would be so relevant today..what controversy he could expunge on todays socitey 😂 this is genius ❤
The scene that Ace said the old man you must be the monopoly guy it's true he kind a look alike but the missing parts of him is the hat, the glasses and the cane too.
My mum showed me these movies as a kid, because i was really starting to like Jim Carey. I watched The Mask a lot. These became another set of wear-the-tapes-out childhood classics. I didn't understand the adult jokes at all until i got much older, had the talk and sex-ed and all that.😂
When I first saw this when I was 13, I thought the rhino machine was real and I rewatched the movie and was very relived cause that could’ve been a whole lot worse ya know.
At 22:24. The bloke who says 'wed get 5,000 dollars for one of those' is played by Bruce Spence, A New Zealand-Australian actor. I only noticed TODAY, he also played 'The Train man' in the 2nd&3rd Matrix movies!!!

Both Ace Ventura movies are hilariously funny. Even with the parts that some would find gross, they are movie that you can't help but laugh at. I am curious to know if you will be reacting to the Alien Romulus trailer or it's movie when it comes out?

Great sequel to the original. Nice reaction Mary. Jim was fantastic as usual, the rhino scene is so iconic lol. That's my favorite part of the film. The opening scene with the raccoon was making fun of Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone. Bumble Bee Tuna!

MARY'S FAVORITE PART WAS AT 12:43😏
Woooow. You are so beautiful.
Jim Carrey crawling out of a Rhino is the Mona Lisa of comedy.
Excellent way of putting that 😆
Ace Ventura walked 🦏 so the Brothers Grimsby could run 🐘
YESSIR!!
People were losing their minds in the theater. 🤣
Look kids it's giving birth!
The miracle of life ^_^
That opening scene is a direct shot for shot remake from the movie Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone. It’s funny how Ace mentions The Shawshank Redemption because Bob Gunton (Burton Quinn) is the warden in that movie. That rhino scene is one of the best moments in cinematic history
The next scene is also a nod to a Stallone movie (Rambo 3) which opens with Rambo hiding out in a monastery.
"Did you just refer to me as White Devil?"
"This how they know you."
My favorite line. lol
Well tell them I'm not.
😂😂😂
"Leave that part out!"
I always liked the line that i use to say to my girlfriend.

Bumblebee Tuna everyone!!

Bumblebee tuna!
lol same
"Flowers..... for me??? Well, I do declare Mr. Beauregard..." The amount of time I've quoted that 😅😅😅
Opening scene is a parody of "Cliffhanger" with Sylvester Stallone, Michael Rooker, and John Lithgow
I'd like to see a Cliffhanger reaction.
For a 10-year-old boy, this movie was Citizen Kane. I didn't realize how often I reference it to this day.
Citizen Kane. 😂
Kinda hot in these rhinos 😂
The racoon drop from the wire scene was a parody after Stallone's Cliffhanger, if you'd remember that, you'd find it funny too.😄
I'm not so sure I'd call it funny. Yes it's a parody, but it's still kinda heart wrenching to see.
@@AurochhunterNo. 🤡
The rhino scene at the theater, I didn't know if I was laughing more at the movie or at the hilarious laughter of the rest of the audience 😂😂😂
🤡
"This is a lovely room of death."
I've had this quote jump into my head, too many times, while seeing someone's personal space the first time.
22:20 The tall one is Bruce Spence, the Gyro Pilot from Mad Max 2. He's definitely an Aussie.
An absolute legend
as australian as they come

Lil pup mad he can't offer any facts 😂 @@mcn.97
I came here to say this lmao
Yeah it was unscripted because Jim forgot his line at that point and instead of just stopping he adlibbed that part.
Bumble bee tuna, the plot was a bit more intricate in the first one, this was just over the top silliness.
Even today whenever i get into a hot car in the summer i always say. "Kinda warm in these rhinos..."
I swear I thought I was the only one. That's awesome haha
My favorite part was his fight with the little guy, "Nobody messes with the DO!!!"
Ace! He much better fighter than you!
This one was always my favourite it's relentlessly funny.
relentlessly funny is EXACTLY right. It is never not hilarious.
That one bat napper is Australian, he was also in The Road Warrior with Mel Gibson, he played the helicopter guy
