The 4th film is still possible but as of now both Jay Roach and Mike Myers have stated it's on the backburner and won't happen anytime soon. Verne Troyer's death in 2018 seriously put a damper on either of them being interested in doing another one.

It's fine. It's fun. I'd watch it again. But it does borrow a lot from the previous two movies, and admitting that you're doing it doesn't make it any less tiresome. Also some of the gags go on way too long.

They're definitely spoofing the Connery films, as well. Content-wise, that's mostly what they're making of. The long decontamination sequence in Man of Mystery is a comedic version of the already long decontamination sequence in the first Bond movie ever, Dr. No.

I remember leaving the theatre thinking that in the next movie Scott Evil would find a way to turn Austin Powers evil. Then Austin would be doing evil things in a very Austin Powers way, meanwhile Dr. Evil would be working for the good guys, but be having trouble shaking his evil methods.
But no, this is the movie people warned you against. It's just one of those things where people think criticizing something popular will make them seem cooler, then a lot of people latch on to that and then Boom. Popular opinion is...

One of Michael Caine movies “In Like Flint” was a major inspiration for this franchise, and references scenes directly from it. That’s why Myers wanted Caine to play Austin’s father, but also because Myers’s father was huge fan of Caine.

Someone put together a novelisation saying that Austin and Felicity broke up because he never really got over Vanessa even though she had been replaced with a FemBot, personally I believe that she decided it was selfish to keep both Austin Powers to herself and found the time transition harder than he did so she went back to the 1960s with Austin Powers from 10 Minutes Ago.

Have you seen Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy? I don't know if it would make a good reaction video because it's such an understated film, but it's a bit closer to the reality of spying than James Bond. Gary Oldman is fantastic in it.

May I suggest that you watch the film "Spies Like Us" with Chevy Chase & Dan Ackroyd! It's hilarious! Also, these Austin Powers films are largely spoofed and stylized after the movies "In Like Flint" & "Our Man Flint". They're a little more cheesy than the Bond films, also similarly spoofed.
