A must have on any Jeep Wrangler ! A no brainer ... it’s like locking “your front door” of your Jeep ! (Tip: get extra cut copy made (‘no chip) of your factory key !
Hello I have an 2013 jeep wrangler unlimited JK sahara v6 3.6 automatic I did install a set of hood lift Gas Struts so Instead of Having 2 people lift the hood I can do it with one hand now But my hood lock hook broke Is there a way to repair it Please let me know Thanks ●|||||||● here's a jeep wave for you all ✌👋 Happy JEEPY
why would you pull on the hood when you have the factory latch engaged, the latch needs to be moved to the release position if you really want to test the lock.
Question - Why would I ever want to use the factory ignition key for the hood lock? Suppose I want to open my hood with the Jeep running - what do I do? Carry a second ignition key around? This is why reputable brands give you keys for their locks.
Red Wolf in what situation would u need the engine running ? While needing to open hood How about lookin at it like this , what if they did provide a key and u lost it and need to gain access to your engine but can’t cause u lost it
As a person who has owned a few of these, expect this lock to rattle and break apart after a year or 2. Has failed the same way on me 2x so it is not a random problem. the issue is how the lock is attached to the bracket. Its a thin piece of metal that rattles apart after a few washboards. LOOK ELSEWHERE!
@@jkustockaphobia2421 the lock fell apart, not the connection to the jeep. Cylinder to bracket connection self destructed. Bracket to jeep connection was just fine

Great video, would this affect the radiator from being removed if I ever needed any type of engine repairs?
Video de como abrir el capo si la llave no funciona y no gira la cerradura del capo

is there any other way to make this lock so that is is calibrated with the actual jeep key?
That is how the Bolt system works.
Did you watch the video?
Does it work with Sahara model 2021 ?
But the new JLs don’t use keys
Where did you purchase the halo, & fenders??
Amazon

Why wouldn't you just turn your engine off, come to the hood, unlock it, and then just go back and turn the Jeep back on?
You could get a second ignition key cut IF you really want to carry a second key. I however don't want another key to carry...
The whole point is not to have to carry extra keys. No brainer.

Qwiv good to know. Longevity truly is the real test. Thanks for the comment.
So instead of attaching it with their method use another form of attachment ?
Jku Stockaphobia Had it on 2 JK’s for 6 years ... no problem at all. Should be factory/dealer installed.
Use bolts & lock nuts, not the rivets
