Dont Forget to watch the Bloopers at the very end!! haha Thanks for watching! #jeepwave
You made removing and replacing the lower latches look very easy. There isn't much room on my Jeep. It will tear up my knuckles. You were lucky. 👍🏽✌🏽
"Cuz my jeep is lifted, its good to be as tall as i am ."
*camera pans to step stool* 😂😂
LOL some of us were just born this height! Thanks for watching!
Just call him "Too Tall" Dex.. :)
This is the best version of this install. I've watched others that pull out the front grill, and others using complicated socket attachments. He uses a small socket wrench which is key also to get it to fit in between the grill and side panel. Once the nut is broken free (just a little even) the rest can be done by hand. Same is true for the attachment of the new lower piece. You can hand tighten it and then just a little tightening with the socket is all you need. I think the key here is to uninstall the bottom assembly of the new unit until you screw it into place. This allows you to better handle the base unit while screwing the bottom screws in place. Good job, and thank you! Finished mine in about 10 minutes taking my time.
Installed the hood latches today. Very good video, followed it exactly and very easy and quick to install. Thanks
Your videos are always fun to watch and very informative. I think I may add this mod myself. Thanks Dex!
Thank you this was awesome. Got my latches installed. Great suggestion on getting to the bolts for the lower hinges. Priceless tip
Thanks man it was 30 degrees when I was doing mine I finally had to watch a video because I thought there was a trick to that lower piece!
Very helpful. Saved me a lot of time. Definitely need to remove the grill at least partially to get the tools in there.
Thanks for watching!
They look great! I just got a set for my ‘08 JKU. Can’t wait til they get here.
Awesome. Finally someone puts latches on with enough tension to hold hood all the way closed.
Many leave a bigger gap towards the front. Drives me crazy.
I will be getting my first Jeep Wrangler this Friday!!! So excited!!!!! 2013 Jeep Wrangler unlimited Sahara with 30,000 miles.
Congrats Danny!! Glad to have you onboard!
Just shipped my JK to Hawaii yesterday, Once I arrive on the 6th, I'll finally install mine.
They look great. You're vid made it easy to understand the installation. Thanks.
Just watched your video for the up-teenth time! Finally gonna get my hands on a pair of these and installing these bad boys tomorrow! Keep making your inspiring videos! (Tipping my hat!)
Glad I could help!
I've been eyeing these ever since I've seen the JL's. I haven't noticed any hood flutter but i know one day it's probably going to get to that point. Plus these just look better. Nice Vid
Thanks alot!
I saw only one problem. You didn’t drop the nut several times and the nut hanging up in the chassis somewhere.
Great video thanks!
Thanks for the help. About a pound of dirt fell out of the oem latches.
Installed this same set a few years ago mainly because I didn't like the way my hood would dance around at highway speeds. The only down side for me is that I have painted fenders so when I open the hood I need to place a rag between the latch and the fender to prevent scratching. It would be nice if they had a small rubber bumper on them.
Haven’t had any flutter yet. But I’ve wanted to swap out my latches. Those look good. Nice spin move.
haha Thanks Timothy!
Nice vid well done mate!
Thanks for your video! Greetings from Chile!
>>>One thing I found out. The lock nuts do not come with washers or mine didn't use some small flat washers so you don't pull the nut through the hole on the thin sheet metal hood. I had already installed the lower latch you might use one there also. I like them they do look and work great
I put these on my 2009 JK no more hood movement when semis go by. On the lower latches I put a small drop of super glue on my finger to hold the nut so I could get it started easier
Please do a video on how to remove hood fluid cause I need a steering wheel change after 20000 miles by removing my trunk
I love how easy it is to replace the hood latches.
Yah, its definitely a DIY. Thanks for watching!
Awesome, I’m glad I Found you. Now to find your headlight video.
Thanks Justin!!
I Installed these on my JK hard rock and thought they were great for a while, until they went through the first winter here in northern Illinois. That piece of plastic that holds the top latch will freeze and become very brittle. Cold temps. will make it almost impossible to open those latches without prying on the top latch with a wrench. The plastic pieces on both of mine ended up breaking because they were so cold and brittle. I ended up replacing these for a set of stock JL latches after about a year.
hey these are nice... ordering mine now... to bad no lock... just got my MLC-6 installed that was on back order... everyone needs the MLC-6
Yes and yes!! Thanks for watching!
Hey Dex, Can you do a A-Pillar Dual Gauge install with a oil gauge and volt gauge? The Jeep gauge panel only has Gas and tempature gauges with idiot lights for oil and no volt gauge...
Thanks in advance
Thanks for these videos.
Thanks for watching these videos :p
That was one of my next upgrades !
Thanks for watching!
good video... i dont see the link to get the latches.. i'll go to Northridge 4x4
LOVE your SUPER SPEED
Haha Thanks!!
What shocks and life to you have on your Jeep? I have a 2016 4 door.
Hey, i was looking for a gas cap with key lock for my wrangler jk 2018 sahara. Thanks
Looks good!
Thanks!!
Yes these hood lock make a great difference! Are you going to change your hood out?
I am thinking about the poison spyder louver kit. Thanks for watching!
One of the first mods I did!
Yeah! Its a great easy one! Thanks for watching!
Nice Mod I can see me doing this. Only difference is me dropping the bottom nut fifteen times and cussing as I try to find where it went lol. Nice video keep em coming
Haha! Yah not only you! Thanks for watching
Looks great
Thanks!
Awesome got to get me a shirt.
Can you make some with KOJ on the front and your logo on the back?
Yeah I will be coming out with new design soon! Thanks for the support man!
Thanks for the info.
Cool video
Thanks Cody!
Hi my name is Gilbert I like your video I was wondering if you can do a Jeep video I haven’t heard from you in a while
Good one Dex that’s usually a first for mods but one of the best for the price. Where’s my shirt!!! Send me one I’ll send over a K5 Designs tshirt for ya
Thanks brother! Agreed! Ill try bring some with me when I come to Florida! I am hoping for Jeep Beach but nothing planned yet!
you got a new mic nice!
Yes! The audio is SO much better! I am always trying to improve and putting the little money I make from UA-cam back into the channel so we can continue to grow as a community! Thanks for the support!
The jump spin did it for me, where do I sign.
I’m somewhat new to car mods I have learned a lot about cars from UA-cam from the last year or so and I’m only 15 but if I was to buy a Jeep what mods would I need to get to run 35s reliably
Thanks for the comment. Running 35 is not too difficult depending on your jeep model. A quality lift is a good start. Thanks for watching
You didn't show the drivers side OEM lower latch removal. Can't get my socket in to remove the nut!
I wouldn't say it was fun. But well worth it
Would be cool to have them in the same color as the Jeep :)
Yeh, thats a cool idea! Thanks for watching!
Those latch are they not get rusted now?
cool video
Thanks!!
Hi Dex the link to the hood latches don't seem to connect.
Hi
Where do you buy them
From Philadelphia pa
Thanks
You get the flutter on brand new JKU's too... How long did it take you total for these? I got charged an hour by our local part store, but I got the Rampage latches since they can be locked.
Michael Patrick
The new 2 doors same prob, every time a semi goes by my hood flutters like it’s trying to fly away
These take about 45 minutes total! These videos will hopefully give you the confidence tackle some of your own work! Thanks for watching!
Yeah, should have just done it myself...figured since they were putting on my bumpers (which were freakin' heavy...) I thought why not?
Yah haha thanks for watching
I have the rampage latches also, I like them. The down side was the washer was not integrated to the nut. I used tape to hold the washer in place.
Do a fender flares video bro!
That is in the works! Stay tuned! Thanks for watching!
STOP IT! You have already cost me a bunch of money! : )
haha!! Thanks for watching!
My next mod will probably be the hood struts and get rid of that silly prop bar. I noticed you don't have those yet. lol
Yeah, I have had them on my mind for a while. Especially since the lift makes it impossible to open the hood LOL Thanks for watching!
Yea the front of the hood gets up there.Working on some kind of 550 para cord handles to pull it back down again once its up. lol
Lol same!!
How much would that be worth if you sold it? You’ve put a lot of work into it!!
Its priceless LOL idk its hard to say but I have alot of work in it!! Would be hard for me to sell!
A labor of love. NOT FOR SALE! I think the same way...
Yah!
Great vid (except the pirouette bloopers .. yikes!). I've been looking for some nice latches and these are definitely contenders.
WELL worth the $$ ! I took my front grill off to install these, much easier!
Thanks! That is a great point!
Same I only had a 13mm speed wrench handy.
I can't get my wrench into the latch on the passenger side. So frustrating.
I like it 👍😎😎😎😎👌
Thank you!
Think they could be installed on a CJ?
Possibly with some modifications!
Just installed these and removed the grill. Much easier install.
Yeah that is a good suggestion! Thanks for watching!
Yup, I'm going to have to remove mine. There is NO WAY I can get my small socket 13mm on that inside bolt, much less get enough ratcheting to loosen it. I can't possibly see any other way to do it.
Are you going to get a jl?
Probably not initially but I am feeling the 2019 pick up! Thanks for watching!
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
👍🏼 thanks for watching
i had to buy locking latches because some little shit is stealing my stuff
Most of your traffic cams can be hard wired for security purposes also!
Yeah, I hate people like that!!
Now you only need fenders
Yes! Planning now!
another add on for me...your costing me $$$
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Put a snorkel on it!!
Thinking about it!
Hahahahahahaaha! You purposefully did not show removing the lower latch on the driver’s side because it is next to IMPOSSIBLE to do on a JK.
You didn't do the drivers side! Needs a extension with a swivel... LAME
The drivers side is the exact same thing lol Thanks for watching!
Brendan Oconnor kitten
My Jeep came with hood latches.
Boooo..I thought I'd be first. Where's my 15 seconds of fame? Really, Southern Germany? ; )
Ha! I got 61 hits on a T-shirt review......
Your Next!! Thanks for the support!
Wait until I shout you out!! haha Thanks for watching!
I thought about it, and maybe he's stationed there. If so, I'll gladly take a back seat. BTW I got 61 hits on my aDex T-shirt review. Not bad....(for me)
LOL! Thanks Man! You can title it after Hemingway. "Old Man and the Jeep"
not the help that i needed, you picked the easy side, typical utuber!!! how do you remove the other side ,bottom part??
the silver hardware looks like shit, shoulda painted em black
