I have a Kenmore 90 series built in 2000. Just like the washer in this video, mine will try to spin drain. But, unlike yours, unless I stop it, it will start to squeak. So I usually put it back in agitation mode for a little while. Then it will neutral drain like it should. I will be replacing the agitator dogs soon; originals lasted just over 15 years. I had to assist the agitator with the last laundry load I did.
Mine was a 1996 and had the same 5 knobs you have. My tub had to get replaced years later. The first tub looked exactly like in the video. The 2nd tub had the newer diagonal style design.
That is like the best washing machine ever! I still remember watching on Jaykay18's channel when you & him were cleaning the machine from a few years ago. That's when I first got into his channel, as well as Sharkie626 & as you too Joe.
Yours pauses between filling and agitating for the rinse cycle! I thought mine was the only one that did that. Glad to know there's another DD out there that does the "soak rinse"!
I have an 80 Series Kenmore like this one, it runs just as smoothly as this one, it features the "Quiet Pack" to. My Machine top is beginning to rust in the same location right around the bleach dispenser.
my neighbor has a washer and dryer just like yours but the washer does not have a fabric softener dispenser, damage around the bleach dispenser, the dryer has a forward opening door as well as electric and it was a 90 series set.
Christopher Schreiber aka SiameseCatMan That's odd with no fabric softener. They sell every part for my series and I keep meaning the buy a new top cover but I believe it's pricey.
Hi! I have the same kenmore washer 80 series but my washer is the model 111. Was my washer made before or after your model washer? Wish I had it's matching dryer.
I know this is old but what happened to the right corner of the washer ? I had the 90 series version of this I bought back on 2003. Great versatile washers these were.
My 80 series has started intermittently not spinning when it drains. If I stop the cycle, I hear a clunk, and when I start the cycle again it will start to spin. It will also intermittently start a second spin cycle during both wash and rinse where it will spray the spin-dried clothes with more water. I like this because I feel like it helps to get all the soap out, but I can't figure out why it's intermittent. We have replaced the transmission with a brand new one, to no avail. Am I looking at a timer issue, or something else?
@@xjoe81x I normally use the Ultra Clean cycle, but I just confirmed similar behavior with the Permanent Press I cycle. The machine filled and agitated, stopped for a moment, then started draining. This time it "clunked" on its own after a second and started spinning during the drain, but as I described, this has been intermittent for me. Very rarely it will do this, but most of the time it will just drain without spinning. After the spin dry, it started the rinse cycle without first spinning while spraying water. I was able to stop the cycle, turn the dial around to just-after the agitation cycle and let it start spinning, and that time it did spray water. After the rinse cycle, it failed to spin while draining until I stopped and restarted the cycle, and again failed to spin while spraying with water until I spun the dial back around.
@@xjoe81x I'm watching the video again, and maybe I'm confused. Is it supposed to be a neutral drain after the wash and rinse cycles, or is it supposed to spin while it drains? My problem is that I get floating lint that seems to settle on top of the clothes if I don't stop the cycle and make it spin-drain. Then sometimes it will pause spinning for just a second, start water, and then spin some more, which gives the clothes a bit of a rinse and drain before they go into the full rinse cycle. Is that just a failed attempt to re-fill the drum? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! :X
These washers do a neutral drain. The water is drained out while the basket remains stationary. Then it stops the motor for a brief moment, at which point it should clunk into spin. If it doesn't do it then, it should immediately when the motor starts again.
@@jaykay18 I would swear that years ago it would always spin drain from the start, but now it almost never pauses to go into a spin. The whole tub will drain and it will continue to drain after it's empty for what feels like a couple of minutes before stopping and then filling again for the rinse. For the past couple years since I replaced the transmission, I've just manually stopped the cycle in the middle of the neutral drain in order to let it spin, so I would have to let the whole rinse cycle run by itself again to check, but I feel pretty certain that I've come back after letting the entire cycle run, and it was obvious that it never spun at all, and my clothes were still soaking wet.

Maybe it was a bearing?

xjoe81x My neighbors washer is a 90 series
xjoe81x Also, my neighbors washer has a triple action agitator
The tub brake is not gripping tightly like it should. I don’t know how to repair but please do.
It's been repaired, please watch the other washing machine videos.
GREAT WASHER MAN
Thank you.

I do not know how to read the Model number to determine the year of production, sorry.

It came that way when I bought my house.
It's where the bleach get on the metal around the bleach dispenser and corrodes the metal.
@@tonydalton8712 yeah that's why I won't use a bleach dispenser on a non porcelain coated top machine
I would like to see fast agitation(heavy duty setting), the ultra clean cycle, warm temperature and the full fill.
Christopher Schreiber aka SiameseCatMan okay.

I wonder if you play with the settings it goes away. Try to eliminate if it's a particular cycle or not.

Yes fast agitation
Yes.
So, let me get this straight, you used hot water to do a white load then decided to throw in a black shirt? Why?

Frank Borrego , Just for visual effects. If those whites are synthetic fiber it doesn't matter

the brake is bad!!!
Kody Bruce It doesn't matter, it doesn't affect the quality of the wash.
