Those trees were all planted not to long ago. He talks about it. And he BOUGHT them and surely also plants some on his property. Don't think you like people telling you what to do with your possessions.
Further I guess you are not aware of how many goods you use made out of often illegally cut trees in other countries, starting from (news-) paper, magazines, napkins, paper towels, toilet paper, pre-cut fireplace wood, also charcoal for BBQ, BBQ-piicks, toothpicks, furniture (assume you have some) and of course mainly buildings (floors, kitchens, main parts.of roofs etc.).

What a great way to spend a Sabbath evening. Watching this video couldn’t be any more peaceful and relaxing. I am curious what you intend on using the hides for once tanned. I Can’t wait to see the finished workshop. My dad was a cabinetmaker by trade in his younger years. Watching your workmanship takes me back to when I was a kid, watching him build. I just assumed that every man was a carpenter, so when I married my husband, I was pretty surprised that he barely knew one end of a hammer from the other. My dad took him under his wing and taught him everything he knew and before my dad died, he told me that my husband went far beyond any skills that he ever had, when it came to carpentry. To me, a man who can create using his skills like this, deserves a lot of admiration in my book. Well done, Shawn. ~Linda Wolff

I would enjoy seeing just a little of how you hone your chisels, axes, hatchets etc to their amazing sharpness please, Shawn. ahh i see the pulley system is coming in handy now ... just need 2 more pulleys so you can place timbers anywhere on the roof and position with the pulley sets ... and of course some type of crank jig that lets you set what direct each pulley is being pulled in ... (up down) individually so you can set them for moving it sideways or turning or lifting or lowering perhaps puzzle out some wooden gears and levers and make a hand crank that moves the gears to make the pulleys do what you want while you have the levers set to either raise or lower each pulley set or even sit in neutral so they dont move allowing for swinging or turning without raising or lowering at the same time ... be pretty complex overall ... but each gear would only need 4 spots max ... locked ... neutral up and down then all 4 sets joined (3 possible but 4 is safer and can lift more weight) by the crank shaft that you turn to do the work ... which has a basic ratchet catch to allow you to move a little at a time and adjust as needed along the way I think you could puzzle it out in the size of your spoke bench

Shawn , I had to stop what I was doing and come to my computer to share this epiphany with you . UA-cam runs auto play and I run the audio through my stereo when I am working in the house or shop . A lot of the channels are music , but also You and Acorn to Arabella , Sampson Boat Co. , The Outsider ... I have found that when your videos are playing , I am so much more at ease , even more so than the slow jazz or blues I normally enjoy . I have come to know the rhythm of your hatchet , hammer and draw knife at work . When this video started I thought " Wow , Shawn is here , cool " I wanted to bring you a cup of coffee and say hey . Sometimes I just loop you on a long project , no voices , no music , only the purity of creation , not visible except through the mind's eye . Thanks brother . I fear there are too few like us left . Your sound tracks would sell , at least to me ...... LOL
