Shawn is a source of inspiration for all those who would like to leave the urban chaos, their work, stressful commitments, but cannot do it, or do not have the courage. I know that now I will not be able to do it anymore, it takes health, determination, courage, but also basic knowledge on how to survive, and knowing how to give up many things taken for granted. But I hope to at least be able to live in the countryside soon, even if close to civilization.

I’m not sure you will ever see this but . . . . . I see you on your knees so much so, from someone that learned the hard way I once did some remodeling and was on my knees! I had so much pain after that I now have a knee replacement. Enough on me but all to say I would suggest knee pads or what ever they have today. I too enjoy watching you. I’m an 82 yr young lady that in another life would love to build a log cabin. My family had one back in the early 1900’s. On a river in Georgia USA. Best wishes. Enjoy watching you.

So good to see Cali cooling off in the water with these high temp's. I have had to resort to adding ice to the water bowls about every hour to keep the kids(puppies) cool when they want to be outside (they can come in and go out as they want). Love the progress on the cottage. I was thinking early this year that there was no way you were going to have a roof done by winter, but as I have seen over the last 4 or so years, you always get things done. Good job and great videos.
Its absolutely fascinating to watch how someone's mind thinks. Although building is pure logic, that doesn't take away from the enormously large task of building a log cabin. No small feat. Thank God you have your sweet dog to take you away from the building. Your videos are truly an education.

Cali is the star of the show ,she just shines running across those big rocks jumping in the water sitting there with the Frisbee in her mouth waiting for someone to play with her again .I love how the cabin is coming along I just remain captivated at this channel ignoring the fact that I'm hungry and I need to go fix lunch but I can't pull myself away from my phone watching you can't wait until the next one comes out to see what you do next with that roof.

Long time no see. Alone in the wilderness with the one man building show. Everytime I look at the timbers you have used all I see is the beautiful color of life in those timbers. Love your choices over all the others who strip the timbers down to bare white color.

You are quickly approaching my favorite part of the build. For some reason I love watching the roof go on. When the roof is there you've got a house! It won't be long now. You are such an inspiration Shawn. I've been following since day one and never seem to tire of any of this. It's a very cool summer up here in Sudbury with only a few hot days so far. Hope it's a bit like that for you since it's so good for working. All the best to you and the family and hugs for Cali.

Thank you for another outstanding video Shawn. I don't know what to say anymore that hasn't already been said except that you epitomize what can be accomplished by a human being if you have the will and the courage to take it on. You obviously also have an incredible skill set but that also comes with the will to develop those skills. I cant tell you how much I enjoy watching you do what you do, its truly inspiring.

Cali is the star of the show ,she just shines running across those big rocks jumping in the water sitting there with the Frisbee in her mouth waiting for someone to play with her again .I love how the cabin is coming along I just remain captivated at this channel ignoring the fact that I'm hungry and I need to go fix lunch but I can't pull myself away from my phone watching you can't wait until the next one comes out to see what you do next with that roof.
The hard work is over, great milestone, congrats Shawn! Whatever the weather soon you'll be able to work inside. Once you have the roof - you can almost live there :)
