Would this work well on the side wall of the door entryway? Replacing a Nest cam that is no longer supported. And sadly one of the low voltage wires broke off in the wall so the battery is my only option at the moment.
"Hi Steve. Yes, that’s a great spot for a battery powered doorbell. Depending on how much sun the spot gets, you could pair it with a solar charger: a.co/d/6xquF7R Battery life varies depending on how often your camera records but Ring is pretty good. I also recommend a second spare battery so you can swap out batteries when charging is needed, without sacrificing security. Hope this helps!" - Rachel Murphy, Home Editor
Already bought a backup battery. 😉 Going to install with the wedge facing outward so I get a better view of people as they are approaching. Also have the Ring WiFi extender which already has a built in doorbell chime so that should be adequate. Thanks again for responding.
I like ring but the screws they use to mount the brackets are really stupid they are long with tiny little phillips heads... I guess they are trying to make it hard to steal but they are making it even harder to install
"Ring doesn't provide a lifespan for doorbell batteries. How long the battery lasts depends on lots of factors, like the number of motion events and the temperature outside. For example, if there's a lot of traffic happening outside of your doorbell, the battery has to work harder, so it won't last as long. Ring sells a solar panel you can pair with the doorbell to keep the battery charged if that's something you're worried about." - Rachel, Home Editor

How often does it need charging
