Michael Landau came to town with the Steve Gadd band when I was 19. I went up to the stage to check out all the gear, and he came out and started tearing down his rig. I was stunned to be so close to him! But I got his attention and he stopped to talk to me and my best friend. I'll always be grateful for how he treated us. What a class act!
Great like always , Shawn is one of the tastiest players , i can look his videos all day long ... btw, i explored that type of lick a lot in Matt Schoffields playing ( so the Dmaj triad over E (7) to give the smooth sound of the added 9th and 11th ) ... thx
Love your stuff. Do you get to use much of this in your regular gig life? Have you ever listened to Chris Poland? You remind me of him sometimes. Maybe it’s a Jeff Beck thing
Thanks for sharing your gifts at this gift-giving time of year, and throughout the year! I'm learning my Shawn Tubbs shapes and incorporating them into my playing! (Still have some trouble with sweep picking, even short sweeps, seems like my brain/hands have become hard-wired for alternate picking!)
You are such a great player and I love when you stroll into someone else’s yard with this outside playing. It’s like “whoops...oh, hey...sorry...just passing through” (waves at neighbor like Ferris Beuller).
It's (1:30) a Larry Carlton thing to be sure. Listen to the second solo of BP Blues from the Last Nite record. I ripped that one of the record years ago. ;)
This is fantastic for novices like me - thanks! I've been looking for my first tube amp and the D20 caught my attention so I decided to jump onboard and hope for the best!
Bitchin' Camero, I mean sweet Nick Johns[t]on Schecter! Of course sick licks, marvelous playing, fantastic tones/sound. Thank you for adding goodness to my Sunday playing/YT day. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to ya!
What Great insight into some cool licks for the Library! My Hard drive(Hard Head) is getting Full!?! And Thx for the Shout out Last week on finding Tone! I've been practicing the Start at High Noon Settings for a while. I'm Guessing this is the G20 again? And with a Strat this time? Wow it Sounds Great!
Peter: Not all keys are into that! Shawn : Kinda keys double up on an axe like mine are. Great lesson, once I stopped laughing, 👀👉🏽4👆🏽🌽🕳 bud! Oh that thumbnail!!
Shawn, you're a joy! But your examples of "really slow" always end up not! Hilarious! I know slow is sometimes impossible!. Now this is an old post but I'm on your channel and I enjoy your particular brand of guitar madness!

I've only been around Michael Landau a couple of times but he was always very kind.
The videos I look forward to the most. Shawn improved my playing after years of being "stuck." Thank you.
Thanks Mordi!
I'm learning the language of Tubbs where we play "indoors and outdoors" over the "speedbumps" and get our effects from "the TV"... I get it now...lol
Haha, it's an old and complicated language. Thanks so much for watching!
Tubbs playing Landau licks! My ears are grateful, thank you for sharing my good sir.
Thanks for watching!
Love the way you break things down Shawn, makes more complicated stuff so much easier. Thanks.
Thanks so much, Mark for watching!
This is great. I use the 9th pattern in my comping but not in soloing.

I'm not so good a sweep picking myself. I can do it in very small doses.

Thanks for watching Rusty and for the inspiration for last week's vid! I'm actually using my D20 and a G2 for the tone in this vid. ;)
Just love those Laundauisms. The Tubbisms are great too :)
Thanks so much!
Ha! You take cool stuff and make it cooler man! You never let me down!
Thanks so much, Keith!

Yep, it's worked for years, man!! Haha, hope you're doing well Chris.
