I am a sleep technologist and the equipment the girl was wearing was definitely for a sleep study. It measures respiratory effort, stages of sleep, and a bunch of other things. Its not as bad as it looks😉.
I disagree. I’ve had multiple sleep studies done and it is rather difficult to get comfortable and fall asleep in that getup....

3:43 I’ve had a bunch of those things on me before for different doctors appointments and stuff. I’m not 100% sure what it’s for. I think a lot of the time they are used to measure your heartbeat when you are going to have a surgery. I think they are also used to test your sleeping and know the patterns more. I’ve had one of those appointments and it’s a bit difficult falling asleep there. I think I did have some of those on at that appointment but I don’t remember for sure. With the context of the video it seems to be it’s for getting information of things while you sleep
I have sleep study’s and they hook me up to those so I think it’s mostly used for that.
I'm a sleep tech and its the setup to determine sleep disorders and sleep apnea. 🤗
I actually don't know, when I had surgery, I don't remember being hooked up to all that stuff. however, if when I go complain to the doctors about my not being able to get 4 hours of good sleep, they hook me up to that, I'll letcha know. Mkay?
I had a sleep study recently and had all those wires on me, and it was actually much easier to sleep than I thought it would be! According to my sleep tech, I slept very well. I also didn’t move much so there was no wire adjustment necessary or anything. When I woke up I did NOT feel rested though (but that’s normal for me unfortunately). My doctors still have no idea what’s wrong with me 😃

3:47 It does look like the brick I had to use while doing some sleep tests but it could be for another pathology. It combines an EEG, an ECG and also monitors your breathing (in case you have seep apnea). Cables are linked to electrodes, like the one on their forehead, placed on the chest and scalp. Theirs is a real mess tho, when I do my tests it's strapped to my chest, not hanging (which is nice bc that shit is heavier than expected) and the nurses/doctors chose short cables I couldn't mess up in my sleep. It looks more like those sterotypical terrorist or kidnapped victim in cop series with bombs about to explode on them and less like a spaghetti noodle mess we see in the tik tok. Still a pain to sleep with.

Yup i have acute sleep apnea and when i had to do that for my sleep study it was so uncomfortable. Like how am i meant to sleep when i feel like i have jumper cables strapped to me
3:44 yes Kris, I believe that is for an EEG (I’ve had a few). long story short I always fell asleep in class and at home even on a strict sleeping schedule and my first EEG was done after I accidentally fell asleep while driving and totaled my car…👍🏻 you get minimal sleep before, no caffeine, and then they put this goop on the spots they need and connect the reader node things all over your head and put all the wires in one place. Then you wear this breathing monitor thing so they can track that too. They darken the room and flash this strobe light and you’re told to keep your eyes open and then close your eyes for a few seconds of rest and then do it a few more times but the strobe light gets faster and faster. And then they ask if you need anything and then you (try to) go to sleep. So yeah. Btw if you happen to be reading this ILYSM and I think you are killin it at life rn and I’m proud even if sometimes you don’t feel proud ❤️❤️❤️

@@giamaxon9206 it’s not that fun and they actually never found exactly what makes me so sleepy (I found in my experience that if my depression is bad i tend to sleep a lot) but they did find that I was at risk for seizures even tho I’ve never had one in my life

My mum's a nurse and once told me this story. Set before COVID existed
Once this primary school class (I think they were around years 2 or 3) went to a hospital, and there was those little stands with hand sanitiser (as most hospitals did even back before COVID) so the kids all put some on their hands, but this one girl, weirdly licked her hands. And as the class went through the hospital, the girl kept putting hand sanitiser onto her hands and kept licking it off, over and over again, it wasn't until the class was back in their classroom did people realise she was acting odd (later on my mum said she thinks the girl got up onto a table or something), the girl was drunk.
She had to go to hospital and get her stomach pumped or something,
I think/hope she's better though.
