"We barely use the space we have, but let's buy a bigger house!" These people aren't cheapskates, they are just idiots
Hell yes. They don't need a bigger house. Why are they blowing their money on it
@Alice Vidz 😂
Yup, that was just ridiculous! You can dumpster dive behind the hardware store or one of those reclamation building supply places and get 90% of the stuff they were too lazy to replace.
Heck there’s free couches and furniture all over the place if you look for it. The fact that they have nothing just shows how lazy they are. Also being cheap doesn’t mean being filthy!
Exactly. Why not use the money for quality of living instead of larger house.
@Alice Vidz it would match their furniture also 😉
Carpet patching is a thing, but normally it's done when the home owner has leftover pieces from when the carpet was installed so it actually matches and doesn't look like Frankenstein's monster
🤣😭😭
But you’re right tho.
Yeah I've heard of them taking pieces out of closets or other spaces where you won't see the carpet to patch elsewhere
Clever very clever
You win with this comment 😝😂
Also (because I have met someone wanting this done) it is done on full carpets and not spot rugs.

As a woman, I believe that being frugal and mindful with your spending is important, especially when you don't have a lot of money. However, when you have the means to live comfortably and provide for yourself and your family, there is no reason to continue being an extreme cheapskate. In my opinion, it's okay to be a cheapskate when you're struggling financially, but once you've achieved financial stability, it's important to live a balanced life and enjoy the benefits of your hard work. It's important to find a balance between saving money and enjoying the fruits of your labor. Being excessively frugal can lead to missing out on important experiences and opportunities, and can also strain relationships with loved ones.
These aren’t America’s extreme cheapskates. These are the world’s most dumbest life hacks

I genuinely worked with a carpet fitter who knew how to sew join carpet together and made himself a patchwork carpet out of Axminster samples. They were old patterns that were no longer sold so he took them and made himself a full Axminster carpet, worth thousands, for free.
Though tbf, it looked a hell of a lot better than the one in these videos 😂
What really irritated me about these Extreme Cheapskates is they seem to find the MOST RIDICULOUS ways to SHOW they are cheap. You can be smart with your money and your expenses and diy stuff without it being in your face and over the top. The pool thing for one, instead of using the pool water to wash the dishes, they can use it to water the plants or flush the toilet or clean the driveway. Anything but using it on plates you have to eat on.
At this point, I am 75% convinced that they care more about LOOKING cheap than actually saving money.

Congrats to the first couple, they probably lost TENS of thousands trying to save what couldn't have been more than $5k in repairs.
Exactly! Their “repairs” lowered their property value to the point they should have just spent the damn money. A full floor of cheap carpet is better then piece work of any type of carpet.
They are very lucky to have found each other.

As someone whos worked in retail in the flooring department, you NEVER want to get “sections” of carpet replaced because you run into the issue of needing to obviously replace all the carpet. A new carpet roll may be the same color, make model brand ext. but the “dye lot” may be different by a slight difference that it’s unnoticeable until it’s placed next to each other (ex. Carpet samples) this creates a significant difference thus making your home look…cheap… if you do it the way like this family wants. Just spend the $1K-3K it’ll take (depending if it’s sold by the yard or foot) to avoid this shit 8:18

If they live in that expensive house but can’t afford basic furniture or repairs, they clearly are living outside their budget. That isn’t being a cheapskate, that is living outside one’s means.
It is not that they can't afford it but that they refuse to spend the money.
@@tyronekracht461 that was sort of my point. I was taking them at their words to show that they shouldn’t be in that house if they can’t make such simple repairs.
@@natashamiller4860 You’re completely missing the point here, and also- there’s a HUGE difference between can’t and won’t.
You’re failing to grasp the cheapskate concept. These people clearly have money and are choosing not to spend it on things they don’t deem as necessary or “worthy”.
I don’t think for a minute they’re living outside their means. I think they’re idiot savants who pick and choose where to spend their money. They can afford a nice big house and they can afford to furnish it nicely if they wanted to, but they think its a waste of money. They’re definitely the type who has plenty of money to take a nice vacation, so they do- they’ll spend a small fortune flying to hawaii but then they get the smallest room in a mediocre hotel, make the kids sleep on the floor and “cook” all of their meals out of the in room kitchenette because they don’t want to spend money on “frivolous” lodging and restaurants because they consider it a waste. But then they’ll happily spend a bunch of money on activities/experiences. Unfortunately I’ve known people like this. They don’t see value in maintenance expenses, preventative expenses, or non essential repairs (shower head, carpet, fence paint) so they spend as little as possible on those things and then splurge in other areas. None of the people I know who have done this are living outside their means. None have debt outside of a mortgage and occasionally a car payment (but paying interest is wasteful so they prefer to purchase vehicles outright vs financing them).
I’m not saying I agree with it, I’m actually quite opposed. But its not the same as living outside their means.
@@nicholem4831 no I am not missing the point. I very much agree with you. I was looking at the way they act…they act as if they are not capable of fixing those basic, necessary repairs. And my point is that logic works no better because if you can’t afford to maintain your home, you are living outside your means in the very same way that just not wanting to is equally wrong. Either excuse falls short. THAT is my point. What I was doing was using logic to show the holes in their reasoning of their position.
@@natashamiller4860 You’re correct

Agreed, to say you want to live a simple lifestyle and not have a high cost of living but then want to sell for a bigger house, why? There house is beyond practical for the size of their family and they don't utilize the space they have so they want a larger more empty home? So impractical and their practices don't actually seem effective at living low cost. As a handyman watching this I am so confused as to their reactions to the cost. Salvaged shower head is 5-10 bucks, carpet can be repaired/treated or bought salvaged as well and most people have a half full can of paint they would sell or give away for that fence. A .25 cent bracket would fix the lean in that fence too. Hell, I just refinished an entire hotel pool for well under what they were estimating the furniture cost to be. They aren't even utilizing the massive space they have!
Bless his date. She was so polite and patient. Also, why was he bragging about only flushing the toilet once a week??
14:05 when kris said: hey uncle joes taking all the plates from the birthday party we have to eat with our hand 🤣🤣😂😂
The real estate agent was an extreme cheapskate too with that non fitting jacket lmao
Re-watching this video today, that Room lighting makes kris look like that last TicToc left inside its contaier😂
“Hey that’s Pete!”
Kris: He says your looking extra scrumptious today.”
Me: Thank you! I feel so special☺️😊
NARUTATO BAHAHAHA
You know the whole thing about furniture being expensive? Yeah… when I got my own place I furnished it completely (minus my bed) for about $300 by shopping at thrift stores. You don’t have to live like that just because you don’t wanna spend 20k, there’s being frugal and there’s making life hard on yourself because you’re ignorant when it comes to reasonable ways to save money.
Exactly. And there are tons of ways to reuse things or repurpose things (safely) so that you don't have to constantly buy anew.
Right just... dont shop at expensive stores 😂😂
That neighbor lending her furniture must have been in a terrible dilemma: tell them what they deserve "F.off!" or make a small investment to get rid of those neighbors sooner. After all, if she helps them sell, they will be gone for good...
i love the fact that they are asking for her furniture to stage the house when you can stage a house with zero furniture.
