You know I randomly go back through your old videos and I find answers . I won't lie I installed the torque converter onto the engine first and currently don't have any gears. My mentality behind it was it's how manual clutches are installed so I figured it was the same. I don't think the pump is engaged so I'm not getting any line pressure. Thanks again for posting these videos and now I know what I'm doing this weekend.
Sorry broke my phone yeah, I'll show you once the adapter arrives shipped out July 3rd so shouldn't be too long. Also where should I send some photos ?
I’ve seen someone who didn’t know mount the converter to flexplate first on an old XF falcon. It ran but in the process snapped of the ears that spin the pump off, caused a lot of load through the crank and destroy the thrust bearings.
Great info. I dont know if you can answer my question, i have 2013 Toyota Tacoma 2wd pickup 2.7 a340le trans and i was wondering if i can convert it with how you explained in your video. I dont know if my computer has to be programmed to adjust for anything changed to the trans. You are the only person on UA-cam that is doing this conversation, any info will greatly be appreciated. Thank you
I just done a 1uz vvti 4x4 using a a340le transmission from a 95 2.8 pajero . Swapped bellhousing and some off the stuff off the A650 input sections into the a340le box as the pajero has a different spline count to suit the lexus converter
I Also have a dictator transmission controller for the 1uzfe A650 in another project I have. It controls the a340 series too and very cheap to buy with flappy added on steering wheel to up and down the gears
Yep. The Mitsubishi boxes require some swapping of internals. I have a project video coming with some of this info and also have a spits tcu here for another video topic. Cheers Kelvin
Kelvin sir me and the boys are arguing- are there transfer cases out there that have a different spline count to the a340e? The scrapyards are telling me I need a 23 spline input and that it requires conversion of the case's input shaft. Looking for a part time box, cheers
Hi there, i might have done little stupid thing. i have an 98 Pajero withe a 30-43Le box. I put a AT temp sensor behind the line pressure screw. that's the little one next to the Blue Model plate. the same day the AT light came on and it stopped shifting into 4th gear. Oil levels are good. 1 2 and 3rd gear works fine. can undoing that screw have caused that or is it just a coincident..
This is an issue I have been seeing for years now and there isnt much info on it. Often loud exhausts mask the issue too as you cant hear it until they explode.
Do you know how long the adapter housing is that you're using/were using in this video. You guys have different tcases down there and I've got two different adapter cases I'm trying to work with. Trying to see if your sleeve would work for me. Thanks
I've gotten an a343e out a 2001 toyota chaser, hoping to swap the transfer case off my a343f from my '93 landcruiser lj78. I've compared the valve bodies and shift solenoids in both are they're quite different. Wiring connection for the shift solenoids loom looks different too. Do you think it will work? Thanks
Sorry, not enough details for me to give input. Normally with the lj78 transmission we swap in the donor transmission internals and use the lj transmission body. The transfer case is different to the surf where the transfer case is disassembled to fit to the transmission.
Hello CarTuneNZ, I was wondering if you ever experienced a clicking throttle body when the key is set to the ON position. Car currently won't start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏. Issue began right after removing throttle position sensors -92 sc400
Yes. Please follow correct procedure for fitting the TPS sensors. Chances are the traction control motor is freaking out due to incorrect fitting of tps and sub tps.
@@CartuneNZ I tried to follow the procedure from your other video however my sub throttle position sensor seems to be aligned differently from my throttle position sensor and when fitting it on it either has to much slack or not enough slack when screwed on. I'm thinking my throttle plate might have moved out of position.
@@CartuneNZ i herd somthing about the 1to2nd shifts are a bit of an issue wen pluck around with the 5 speed autocrapic transmission like the one i have in a is300 in-witch ill would love to make stronger .i herd about accumulator mods and turning up the pressure looks like that was on highest setting already still shifts smooth to smooth but at over 300k that may be why .i will rebuild it most likely before it fails and mod that unit as it will be turbo time wen it get a fresh transmission but all in time i guess

Hey man last question. Will a a341e tranmssion pan be the same as a a340 and or a650? Theres a company online selling a deep trans pan for the a341 and they say it also fits the a340/a650... sound about right? I need a new trans oan for my ucf10 ls400 and cant find one still

thanks fer videos my man and be blessed,,i call the ole autos slush boxes
I frequently call autos slush boxes, but dont hear it as frequently these days.
I purchased a Northwest toys adapter for the a341 to a RF1A can't wait till it comes in ! Greetings from Canada ! The Lexus swap is almost done
Great choice going with the Rf1a. Id be interested in some photos of progress. Cheers Kelvin

Thanks for the information! My transfer case is already mounted to my transmission, but I feel so much better that it looks like I did it right.
Glad it helped!
I vote for anything and everything you're willing to print for instruction at a price,

Its amazing how things can be assembled by guys who dont know. I'm often amused.
Very interested, funny enough today I checked if you had a video on how to manualised shift kit.
I have to do a new video of our newer unit but have been busy with other projects. Cheers Kelvin

Can the trans adapt to a 91 fj80 3fe gas US model transfercase? Link tks.
Very interested on a manual shift conversion writeup!
Well done mate, good info. Can you tell me do you have to use a surf transfer or can we also use similar year Hilux transfer. Thanks
I use surf VF transfer as they almost bolt on. The hilux RF transfers are different in the way they bolt together.
I would love to hear that info
I'm interested in the shift box also
yes please on transmission control, running a link storm on my conversion
Link dont have native transmission control yet but its hopefully close. Cheers Kelvin
I'd love to buy the instructions to manly shift the trans
Will like to see how you do it please
