None of those should've ever left fantasyflightgames to begin with, they had something good going 'n everything project they shifted over is either dead or currently about to die, that includes star wars legion as well. The lack of content and commitment is horrible 'n instead of producing some interesting things they now plan to run new reprints of units nearly all established players won't need any more copies of. This was one huge "how to kill popular brands with one decision" idiot move they pulled back then.
I certainly hope Legion isnt going anywhere! But I personally have high hopes because of all the announcements gerading new models. Why do you think Legion will die?
@@thewynnest It's not just thinking, it's already dead and buried in plenty of regions and more 'n more shrinking or dissapearing from shelves in stores (online and local). Considering the rather long interval between releases 'n that after the clone commandos it's gonna be reprints 'n redesigns for a good while... To me it feels like they're bothered by having to continue this 'n just drag it along till it stops breathing.. How little creative can ya be to decide "Eh.. making up new stuff is such a drag, let's just throw clones 'n stormtroopers at them again, they always buy those". Not to mention that inflation in many places has gone up quite a lot recently 'n the legion minis have never been on the cheap side (especially commander expansions) - especially after the asmodee swap... Forcing ppl to get the building instructions from their website instead of printing them was also quite the crap move, I know some love building these next to a pc but it shouldn't be a requirement to unbox physical minis 'n then keep staring between desk 'n laptop to glue together sometimes ridiculy small parts (B2s!)
I do not think it likely that Legion goes away any time soon. They have several teased products in the pipeline still. It is also the one FFG game they inherited that they have actually developed new content for and don't shy away from including in their events. Armada got maybe 1 or 2 painting streams in 4 years. Legion appears far more frequently.
There was no fantasy flight to remain on: Look at how much personnel churned, and how the development changed. Mergers never leave companies unchanged, and this one was especially brutal
Adepticon's announcement that they plan on hosting X-wing and Armada tournaments is probably the most important thing to come out since AMG's announcement. Whomever they let run those events in 2026 will stand to have a lot of leadership and clout in the respective communities.

I got into X-Wing at the end of 1.0, and happily upgraded to 2.0. (It only took 2 upgrade packs to cover 90% of my collection, so it was not a big deal for me.) I've loved this game, and I'm sorry to see it die. Hopefully the fans can save the game. Warm regards, Rick.

I also picked up a big "Plano Guide Series" fishing box / case (4 levels high with a big box at top and an area for lures which was perfect for all the cardboard counters). I decided that my whole collection of X-Wing would fit in this, and when it was full, I was done. I didn't keep to that promise (I picked up a few large ships that didn't fit in the little compartments), but other than that, it all fits in my case. You will need to buy one starter set. The early ones only had 3 ships (two Empire Tie Fighters and an X-Wing) but if you are planning to buy only Rebel, the Atomic Mass Games Starter set gives a nice variety of Rebel ships. They are more expensive tho. The starter sets give you dice, maneuver templates, rules, many counters, etc. etc. Be sure to pick up one of the starter sets that support the 2.0 or 2.5 rules. Those rule sets are a significantly better game than the 1.0 rules. Hopefully, people will produce 3D files so we can print our own ships. It will otherwise be very expensive to buy on the secondary market. (But someone might decide to sell their collection, and you could pick up a $1,000 collection for $300 bucks or something.) The debt that asmodee was handed is crushing, and has changed their operations quite a bit: They were already a penny pinching company after embracer came in, but the split has made it far worse. They know they are basically dead when the loan comes due, and that the best that can happen to a smaller businesses unit is to be sold to a competitor: But those competitors aren't rich, and they know the price will lower as they wait. I would not be surprised if xwing and armada returned from the dead in the next year or two after being sold to a healthier organization
I want to find out what ‘structure’ was ‘supposed’ to be…find out and you might be on a ‘trail’ of possible ‘reasons’…ie;structure is atm hidden away like the secret mulan shezwan sauce & the ark of the covenant from ‘Raiders’… it might just be a trail, but answer that question and you’ll find out a whole lot more…peace.
