Hi Guys, I had to pick up my jaw from the floor about the costs you have to deal with. My Son is also autistic and we are fortuned to have no additional costs because we live in the Netherlands(Europe). He goes to a group from 4 days a week where he gets help with his autism as well als psysical therapy and speech therapy. And his mentor and the other employees are so sweet, we’re lucky . It’s not ‘haven’ 😂 because we also had to deal with lost of government organizations. Also this country doesn’t have childcare after the group before he was 4 years old.
What really helped is to communicate with him is pivotal response threatment(PRT).
Thanks for you’re videos ❤ and enjoy you’re beautiful family.🤗
Thank you so much for sharing! That is awesome that you were getting such great services and help. ❤️ it is so cool to hear about other places and how things work there. We’ll have to look into PRT. 😊
Hi Holly and Adam…..when you started your YT adventure, did you ever think it would become an advocacy for autism as well as your National Park adventures? I remember finding your channel when you had less than 100 subs because you had tagged autism but essentially it was an adventure channel of a family who just happened to have two wonderful autistic kids. The way the channel has grown into what it is today is fantastic. You are doing so much for autism awareness. And in truth, Ezra and Simon are truly blessed to have your unconditional support. In fact, as I have said many times before, your whole family unit is amazing simply because all your kids are treated as equals. No one is left out. How you find the time for five kids, YT commitments which I know will be seriously intense, work and everything else, y’all truly have my admiration and deserve every success YT will deliver. Luke
Wow! Thank you so much. This comment is truly touching. I remember when we had less than 100 subs and we worked so hard those first couple years to get our “travel” channel some traction. But when we noticed that most viewers’ interest were in our Autistic kids then the focus of the channel began to change. The channel is very different then we thought it would be, when we first started out, but I feel that it has the potential to be a bigger help to people. I hope it is. It sure is busy, with Adam working full time and then with all the filming and editing to do. But it’s worth it. Thank you so much. I
Holly you two have done so much to help others I just want to say thank you.
We are Happy to help! ❤️ Our kids have taught us a lot and we just want to share.
If you wouldn’t mind sharing that on this video, it would mean a lot…ua-cam.com/video/zGpYgklYLZY/v-deo.html
Hi 👋 I have four kids two of which have autism and one of my other kids has ADHD so we’re kinda on a similar boat 😅. We live in Canada and I gotta say there’s definitely a shortage for OT’s. The wait times are also ridiculously long usually lasting 6 months + however one thing I gotta say that I love about Canada is that all these therapies are absolutely FREE as long as you have the diagnosis. Canada helps out families a lot with financial relief like with the ACSD (Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities) which also helps children with an ADHD diagnosis. It’s not a lot of money it’s $500 per child but that’s an extra $1500 you have in ur pocket in case there are any damages or emergencies you need to cover. Since a lot of the programs in Canada are covered that extra bit of cash ends up being very helpful for gas so we can take our children to their appointments and whatever else may arise. Love ur videos!! Thank you for sharing it makes us feel less alone ❤
Wow! Thank you for sharing. That is great they have that program to help out families. We do have very similar families! ❤️
Great info! I’m excited about your new channel and can’t wait to check it out!
Yay! Thank you!
It costs a lot in Canada. Our insurance pays only 750$ for speech therapy and 750$ for occupational therapy. It is not a lot which means I will have to pay for her therapies out of my pocket. I am learning so much from YT and chatGPT about therapies. I have started teaching my 2yo daughter how to feed herself, she walks, runs and climbs everywhere. I am teaching her puzzles and gives her cookies in a jar so that she knows how to get that. There are little things which I am doing with her which are improving her behaviour. She was less responsive to her name so I stopped calling her unless I have something for her. Now she is more responsive. In this information age, parents can learn so much online and apply those techniques. Therapists don't have magic wands. I am not saying they are not important but giving hope to people with less resources.
She has started to respond to her name more, she can feed herself, she can drink water on her own when she is thirsty.
So true, and there is so much you as the caregiver can do, after you learn what the therapists do. Thank you so much for sharing. Good for you for teaching your child so well. That progress is awesome!
Great progress!
Thank you for sharing. I have an autistic child, non-verbal, very anxious, in Virginia they do the testing when child turns three, in reality it more close to four because waiting list is 9-10 month long.
Yeah, thank you for sharing. ❤️ are you able to get on the waiting list early? I think we had Simon on the waiting list when he was like. A little before he turned to just in case we decided we wanted to do it. 😊
Great tips Adam and Holly!!! I learned a lot of great information today.
Thank you so much! If you wouldn’t mind checking out that autism alliance video and making a comment or two on that one that would be much appreciated ❤️.

I kept it as clean as possible I don't think they know what they're talking about you're mild autism video really did help me with my youngest, Ben and he's doing so much better now
I didn’t crawl til the day before I turned 1 and I didn’t walk til I was 18 months.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Please write a letter to united healthcare. They give $$$, as a grant. Nothing is guaranteed. But they do offer some. Just take a chance, and write a letter and submit it yearly. Yes over and over again. You are their advocate. Good luck.
Thank you so much! We have actually received multiple grants from various parties. And yes, it does take some persistence. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing. I am sorry that the Autism center is so expensive in Jordon. It isn’t fair. But you are being proactive by learning from UA-cam how to help.
This is awesome veido
Thank you
5:45 That’s not generally the case for children with autism. My older brother has severe autism and he started walking when he was around 7 months old and I have mild autism and I started walking when I was around 9 months old.
Thank you for sharing. That’s great you guys walked so early. Simon walked at a typical age. What about other milestones? We’re you and your brother early on reaching other milestones?
@@7Aheadfamily My brother was late on everything else and even now he’s completely nonverbal and doesn’t understand very much. He was always developing slowly in every other way and showed all the signs of autism. He also didn’t regress at all since he never developed normally in the first place. He also had a traumatic birth that caused some brain damage which might be why his autism is so severe. As for me I developed pretty much normally. I was always slightly behind on speech but mostly I was very high functioning.
I see. I am sorry to hear about the traumatic birth. As a mother I can imagine that would be so difficult. That’s great that he doesn’t my regress. Ezra has regressed sometimes. But he’s doing better now.
@@7Aheadfamily I’m younger than him so the only reason I know is because my parents told me about it. As for me I thought that I was just a regular kid for a while. I knew that my brother was different because he couldn’t talk and I heard my parents saying multiple times that he has autism and that he can’t grow up. We both went to an autism preschool but I just thought that it was a regular preschool and that the kids there were normal because they were the only kids I really knew. It was when I started attending regular preschool and kindergarten that I started noticing that I’m different. There were many things that the other kids could understand that I didn’t. My mom told me that I have autism right before grade 1 started and I didn’t believe it, I remember saying “No Sam has autism I don’t!” and mom told me “Yes he has a lot of autism you have a little bit of autism” But it still took many years to completely be aware of why I’m different.
I see. ❤️
the only real expense for my autism is the fidgets and headphones I don’t really know if i wanna start autism therapy when i have so many ways to express myself
Thank you so much for sharing your perspective! Yes, it’s definitely some thing that should be decided on an individual basis, depending on individual goals. And how old are you?
@@7Aheadfamily i am 14 years old turning 15 in october
Simon loves those fidget toys where it makes the popping sounds. I think they are called pop-its
@@7Aheadfamily yep they are called pop it’s i have a shark one!
Simon has a huge Rainbow pop-it that he sleeps with, so when he wakes up in the middle of the night and get's bored, he can fidget with it.
I was going to spend a lot of money but I'm gonna keep them in the school they went this chatter school
Nice!
Before I got diagnosed as high functioning autism, I had a autism test(idk what was it called so I called it autism test), it costs about 1k-2k in my country(it about 300 to 400 dollars in US), and 1k is really expensive even now, glad I was successfully diagnosed, every time I got therapy, it costs about 420 to me(100 dollars in US), and honestly, 420 is kinda expensive for me too, and after a year, we discountinued the therapy and went to another) but it also cost 300(about 70 dollars in US), everything is kinda expensive in my country, espacially due to inflation
Wow. That is expensive. What country do you live in, if you don’t mind sharing. Inflation is a big problem, especially in Venezuela right now.
@@7Aheadfamily I live in Malaysia, and yeah, inflation is really bad, everything is pricey rn
Malaysia. Wow. I lived in the Philippines for a year and a half, (this is Holly by the way) I hear Malaysia is pretty populated. Glad you were able to get a diagnosis.
@@7Aheadfamily Yeah, I glad I was diagnosed so I can finally know I have autism
I bet that brings more clarity and understanding.
Well, in my country we actually pay most of our costs for helfcare and related things with our taxes, so al kinds of apointments and so on cost only around 20$ most of the time, 60$ if its very special psykiatrik helfcare. Only dentists are expensive and I have no idea why they are that. And al of this is only for adult patients, its free for kids. And we have a maximum amount of money we need to pay for medicin and helfcare every year, after you have reached that amount al helfcare are completely free for the rest of the year
Wow! That sounds amazing. i especially love the idea of kids having help no matter what. Where do you live? Thank you for sharing. Are there long waiting lists? Like, for a diagnosis, would you have to wait a while to get seen by a doctor?
@@7AheadfamilyI live in Sweden, about the waitingtime, we have a law that says that we have right to get help within 3 months, but in some parts of the country, the waiting for neuropsychiatric assessments can be longer, why its so I have no idea. But I know that we still have very good helfcare here so, and cheap.
Wow, yes that’s incredible. 3 months is a short waiting list for Autism for sure.
Am i the first one to watch this?!
Maybe so. :-) What do you think?
@@7Aheadfamily I think so because when I clicked the vid it was nine seconds ago with no views are comments so I think I was first
Nice! Great job. 😊

I'm putting my kids in a private school and they have to be in ABA already i found a private center that will take them right away i don't want to pay for but i want them in this school and i have to pay alot of bills for my 8 year old in most cases it cost more then Autism
That is awesome, that you found that private center. Are you able to get any help on financing through the state or anything for that?
7-Ahead no it's all on me my brother said he's gonna help
I had to find a school for my 8 year old school that he is going to. The elevator doesn't work i'm mad about that he's mad too
@ralph4720 that is nice of your brother. ❤️ yeah those types of private schools can be really good, but also really expensive. How are the schools that are public around you? Are there any charter schools?
Yes massachusetts was the first ones to have chater schools that's were I'm gonna send my 8 year old I think
