    Hello to all my viewers! Just a note about changing light intensity: if you need to change the intensity of light for your minis, do it gradually and let them adjust. A sudden drastic change in light can shock the plant. I hope your minis thrive! Amy 😇🌺😊🌻

      This was the best information from this video for me Amy. I didn't know that mini phals live higher in the canopy and like more light. I am transitioning a new mini at the moment, slowly edging it towards my kitchen window. Thanks again.😀

    It's great to hear you talk about this subject Amy. I learned the hard way about minis too, until I realized they needed more watering than the bigger Phals. I now have one that I've had to re-pot twice already this year, as it's growing roots like crazy. I also was pleased to hear you say, on the last video, about the African Violets; that they did not flower as much in the Summer. I had been wondering what I was doing wrong. As always, love your videos and I've leaned so much from you, thank you 🙏🌹

    Hi Amy, what a wonderful video and thank you for the blessing at the end. I have been watching Ricky L videos and am intrigued with growing in gravel. I wanted to see if you have attempted. I'm fairly new to orchids, but have 4 rescue phals now. A couple are minis. I live in upper Piedmont of sc so my climate is very similar to yours.

    • @OrchidWhisperer
      @OrchidWhisperer  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, and thanks so much for your comment! If you're in a climate similar to mine, I highly recommend Orchiata bark. I've never grown in gravel...it's quite time intensive. Orchids growing in gravel have to be watered every day, sometimes several times a day. So it depends on how much time you have to water and maintain them. Rick is an excellent orchid grower, and he watered his really often. Happy growing!

    I just counted my minis tonight. In less then 1 year I’ve managed to get myself 32 yikes. I’m slowly starting to repot in Orchiata 9/12 picking smaller pieces for them. They are vigorous once the roots start growing that’s for sure. I’ve been waiting for them to start growing new roots since they are all either in moss or peat plugs from the store. Question? I use your old recipe for fertilizer along with calmag and seaweed extract. I usually water 3 weeks with all and 1 with nothing. I’m assuming it’s safe to use on my newly repotted minis every time I water even if that is like you said 4 days or so.
    Thank you Amy,I so enjoy your videos.
