I love all your videos and have learned so much. I inherited about 8 from my daughter (she loved orchids) when she recently passed. I am eager to learn so I can take good care of her babies. I did follow your advice and repotted many with RePotme products that you recommended. It was fun actually. Thanks for all your help.
Hi Danny I just watched your video on repotting mini orchards I just repotting mine today. I love all your videos I learn so much I live in Florida my orchards are outside and I pray my mini orchards will do good thank you so much blessings 🙌
Hi! You probably won’t see this but I had to share: I bought an orchid online because it reminded me of you. It’s in its first blooming ever and it’s a beauty. It’s an Oncidium Cholita Cuencana from Ecuagenera. It’s my only red orchid and now I think I’ll have to get more. It’s all your fault! Thank you for teaching and inspiring me!
I'm glad you thought me to look out for the roots when they are soft when I repotting the mini orchards I had to gut alot of the roots off I pray they do good I live in Florida and I have to keep my eyes on the orchards I have them outside blessings 🙌 thank you 😊
I live in Minnesota in the U.S. and just got a mini for my bday. I repotted it in a moss mixture from repot, cut off alot of bad roots, cut off the flower stem and it's doing fantastic. It's growing new roots and new top leaves. I have it in my north facing kitchen window. So glad I found your YT channel!
The content in your videos is invaluable! Thank you so much for sharing. I was given a sad and tired orchid, I've never had one before and because of your videos, she has a new leaf growing and despite having a couple of broken leaves😢 they hare now stronger and shiny and healthy looking. I've watched so many of your videos now and I'm loving being an orchid mom! My hubby bought me a mini too and she's doing great!
Hi Dani, I have one mini, and she is ready for a pot on. My very large Phalenopsis, has taken on the "lean" large leaves very long flower spikes, thank you for great tips. Take care
Thank you so much for all the information in your videos. I'm hooked. I received 2 phals as a gift just over a year ago and this is when I found your channel. They have since bloomed, and I now I also have a happy little tolumnia, a struggling catleya, another catleya, a struggling miltoniopsis that just bloomed- I don't expect it to survive ( I moved it 1800 miles with me), a new milt, and I just ordered 2 more tolumnias, my first oncidium, and a catleya. 😬 Hooked. Anyway, thank you. I love my orchids.
I just recently came across your videos. I’m so glad I did. For Mother’s Day my granddaughter gave me what I thought was a mini orchid but I think it is a micro mini. The leaves are very healthy and the flowers have just recently fallen off. My question is do micro minis stay small or do I need to repot and when will I know. Thanks for your time. Your videos are wonderful. 21:42
Thank you for your videos. I have 2 big phalaenopsis that insist on growing sideways. I'm having to weigh one side of the pot down with rocks now 😂 Have repotted twice to try and straighten, change light direction etc, she has a mind of her own lol!
One of my phals flowered from Jan to mid-April. As soon as the flowers were spent, I cut the spike completely, wanting to give it a chance to grow vegetatively now as Danny recomme ded. But, in early May, it started putting out a brand new spike!🤣😆 It's growing the buds by now. I left this one on... If it wants to flower this bad, then it must feel like it has enough energy. And I'd feel bad abt cutting it😅
I cut them down to a couple of nodes, and then peel back the vellum from the node and put some keiki paste on it. Sometimes I get a keiki (I have two that do this nearly every time). The others either produce a spike or just nothing. It’s always a crapshoot.
I prefer to cut my flower spikes as well. Saving up energy for a fancier show. I recently started buying some novelty and species orchids but now I don't know what to cut and what not to because some are sequential blooming and I don't know which.
I wouldn‘t cut them if they are still green since their genetic isn‘t as messed up as in hybrids. Rule of thumb: Polychilus types are sequencial bloomers
Hi Danni, I absolutely love your channel! I’ve been watching your videos for a while (since last year when I started my collection) and I’ve been taking care of my orchids all summer (I’m in Australia). It’s now winter and I’m getting my very first flower spikes! I’m so excited! I wanted to ask- is there such thing as TOO many basal keikis? I’ve got a mini phal I bought from a nursery last year, it had a double spike. I cut the spikes off, and it was going so well it decided to sprout FIVE basal keikis. From what I can see, all the mother plant’s leaves have fallen off. They all are going very well, I just wanted to know if you had seen this before.
Awesome series. Exactly what I needed I got two of them. Do I need to do some things because they are not in the normal cycle? They are in full bloom right now early Autumn.
Hi Danny, How do you fertilize one (1) orchid? There are instructions to add 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water but, I have one (1) mini phal in a 3 inch pot. It's hard to measure the correct amount of fertilizer for such a small orchid. The mixture stinks after just 2 days. Thanks Danny for your help.
My mini phall's are not so mini anymore..im bummed because i have a bunch in bloom and 3 just getting spikes. But im moving in about a month 3 day's driving. So i have to cut all off.
Can you please make a video on mini phalaeonopsis with very small flowers? I’ve seen them in stores. They fit in a cup and the flowers are much smaller than these of the normal mini phaleonopsis.
Thanks Danni. I really love your content. I liked what you said about fertlizers. Living in the EU as you, do you or anyone know if it`s legal to import the MSU fertilizer from rePotme or if there are quality alternatives in the EU to use with RO water?
I have a question, in your videos you are showing us how to cut back when blooming is over yet in the background lots of blooming orchids. Some bloom in the summer some in winter? I'm in Canada, mine bloomed just after Christmas and lasted for months but now in June, no blooms, just leaves...if I get a different type of orchid would some species bloom in the summer?
Question, how do you manage watering if you have been given multiple mini phal in glas bowl? They look so beautiful, I have had them for 2 years they flower, but I have lost 2 plants of the 5 and I will repot them after their flower show as they have just started pushing new spikes. Any advice?
I received a mini orchid as an early valentines gift and sadly one of the middle leaves has been damaged very close to the base and started to tear. I put a little cinnamon on the “cut” and left the leaf attached. I am now worried that some cinnamon has gotten on one of the flower spikes and one of the roots. I see some black spots around the effected leaf and another spot on the base of the orchid. Is there anything I can do to insure that my orchid is healthy?
Hi Danny, been a fan a while now. I’ve been ordering from repot me. The only thing about the website I don’t like is that there is not enough information on which potting mixes and why to use them on any particular orchid. For instance, I have the phal gold. AAA. Why is that better than the dark? Can you help clarify that?
Good advice. One thing I do, is, not water my any of my plants with tapwater, unless it’s filtered. Tap contains chemicals in it that can kill microbes in the soil, which can be beneficial to your plant. I actually use rainwater to water the roots and mist aerial roots with filtered water.
Hello ma'am... my phals have 2 keikis in a pot because I'm afraid to separate it from its mother plant.. They are now big and both are flowering.. They are crowded in a pot... I repotted it 2 months ago, can I repot it again and separate each from its mother plant?
I recently purchased a mini phal and a paph from my local orchid nursery(Hausermann's). Unbeknownst to me, my paph had a spike starting. About a week later, I noticed a new growth coming up. The new growth is doing great. It is about 1 1/4 inches in about 3 weeks. But my flower spike is doing nothing. What is your opinion on the situation? I did repot both when I brought them home 4 or 5 weeks ago.
You said hotter months is when the flowers will go over. But I live in the south west UK we've had the hottest 3 weeks of the year the last 3 weeks and my regular phal orchid is only just starting to get it's flower spike. Do regular sized orchids and mini ones flower roughly the same time/conditions? And is it normal for where I live??
I also live in the south of England. Some orchids are summer blooming I think but most should go into spike in sept/Oct/Nov with flowers starting to open any time from Dec through to March/April. Most of mine are still in bloom since then, or just going over. That said I've got one who is a sequential bloomer and has been in bloom constantly since June last year. Hope that reassures you! 😊
I have a love-hate relationship with mini phals. I have one that hasnt given flowers since I got it during the pandemic while my regular big phals are flowering like crazy 😂😂 I dont understand

I am so sorry to har about your daughter, my condolences ❤

So sorry for your loss ❤️ Inherited plants make very good ways to honour loved ones, especially orchids
💕
I am so sorry for your loss, Batb!
I used to watch your videos years ago, Then I moved and left all my 50 orchids😢 just starting again and its nice to see your face.

that lavender orchid at the end, my oh gosh!

I Danni, please can you make a video on how you shower your orchids for dust accumulation?
Thanks for all your videos!

Can you use a grow light on the mini

Hi, I have a behinner guide to cattleyas in the description of all my videos, check it out 😊

Oh no. 😞 Is there no way to keep the spikes and blooms and have them ride shotgun with you ?

Does dendrobium phal produce kikies in flower spike
Because i got one
Hi Danny! Do orchids need to fertilize weekly as some fertlizer instruction suggests or every time you need to water them?
Thanks Danni. I really love your content. I liked what you said about fertlizers. Living in the EU as you, do you or anyone know if it`s legal to import the MSU fertilizer from rePotme or if there are quality alternatives in the EU to use with RO water?
I thought I'd try the repot me orchid planting mix and lost two of my orchids and another on is on it's way.
I live in a temperate climate so which watering method would you suggest?

My orchid has brown spots and the edges also. What could be the reason?
I thought I saw you use some cinnamon on the cut spikes on an older video, about things you can use from around the house?
Today I saw blue painted orchids. I assume these are dyed flowers. Can you please elaborate on this kind of orchid?

Dani has a good video on how to separate and repot the keiki- I actually just watched it yesterday. Do a quick search. Hope it helps.
Do you have a book

Made me laugh so hard when that orchid started to move on it’s on. Orchid Ouija board.
您好,請問您在影片中紫色的大蘭花是什麼名字.?非常美麗❤
🙏🏼🌺💞
i use a combination of soaking 1 week and run water though the pot... seems to work for me...
I have a love-hate relationship with mini phals. I have one that hasnt given flowers since I got it during the pandemic while my regular big phals are flowering like crazy 😂😂 I dont understand
Why not charcoal? It doesn't decomposes.
