I really do not care if you think its the best or worst insult. Insults aside the point is neither "halo studios" or microsoft care about this ip. All they care about is 💰. They have been driving the ip into the ground since 2011.
From Microsoft, not 343. 343 has ALWAYS loved this franchise, but they are run by one of the most notoriously difficult to work with publishers in the industry. Microsoft has probably killed more developer teams than EA and yet everybody targets 343 like they're solely responsible. Microsoft historically hates all of their IPs. They bought Minecraft and immediately filled it with microtransactions and the game went into a slump for 6 years. They released a Zoo Tycoon game as a launch title for the Xbox One that was so abysmal, not only did they shutter both the developer and the franchise after that, but the devs contracted to make the game would ultimately make TWO spiritual successors that outsold the entire IP. Age of Empires got shot in the foot several times, Gears of War literally was handed to a bunch of strangers (just like Halo).
@@Kisseyhersh123Dude, 343i now Halo Studios has one of the worst work environments in the Gaming Industry, period. It's so bad, you can leave that studio, join a studio like Activision, and the differences in treatment are night and day. And the fact I have to say that Activision is a saint compared to Halo Studios.
@@Kisseyhersh123 yeah i doubt it, so microsoft is the one in charge of the narrative and campaign in Halo 5? Microsoft is the one that said "hey build a new game engine across multiple years BUT you can only hire people for an 18 month contract so they cant get benefits". if microsoft did that then i guess they are at fault
I love how only a couple weeks after Halo Studios/Microsoft did next to nothing for Halo 2’s 20th Anniversary besides releasing some overpriced skins in Infinite and burning out the Digsite team, Valve came out guns blazing with Half Life 2’s anniversary with an amazing update to the game and an incredible documentary about it’s development and history, really putting Microsoft to shame on how to celebrate the anniversary of one of their greatest games
The difference is Valve made Half Life, so they actually understand it's value. They are proud of what they created, they love it & their fans. Microsoft didn't create Halo, it's just another money maker to them. They don't care one bit about it unless it is raking in money. They don't care about the people who grew up with Halo. They don't love it, they love money. There is a reason Bungie wanted to get away from Microsoft.
Microsoft makes too much money, and prioritizes making too much money to care or respect the wishes of its consumers and employees. This can be said for most companies. Your only method to combat this is stop giving them money and stop participating. They treat you like you don't matter because you don't matter to them. What matters is when their bottom line starts to hurt and the king notices he's not swimming in money anymore and executives start racing to find things to point their fingers at.
@matercheff yeah , 343 said that it was because "spliscreen" is difficult on pc , but thats not true lol, I cam play black ops 3 zombies in splitscreen mode without any issue , is just 343 not wanting to do it...
They may want, but they are just not capable to do it. All the stuff 343 put it showed that they aren't capable to create a consistent and finished experience.
@@SilverViper1000 343's been outdone by modders ... Again! There are two great split screen mods for halo now, one of em is super easy too. Literally just replace two files with the modded ones.
I’m convinced Marty has an advanced filter on his computer that notifies him when a Halo video is uploaded. Also can we give the maestro more than 19 likes?!
I’m so glad someone else has a problem with the H2 anniversary too. It pissed me off how there was so much more “celebration” in infinite than ACTUAL HALO 2. People say “you got the e3 demo and alpha moon”. Yea that was done by the community, not 343. There was NOTHING in MCC for the anniversary. Not even a nameplate that somebody could have made on their lunch break. They just had to take a piece of 20 year old promo art, crop it, name it and put it in the game. Nope too much work.
And if you don't have a PC you can't play it either fucking way,They basically gave us Xbox guys the finger when we carried the game from life to death.I was livid to find out the only thing we got was a throwback playlist and more nostalgia bait in the form of armor we still have to pay for. They refuse to deliver their promises of couch co-op and they change our classic customization options for the stupid fucking pre shaded color colors and people have the audacity to defend this shit 😂
Valve delivers a big load of updates, gives an interview, adds commentary in the game, and provides us with footage of the early game. 343 (Halo Studios): A FUCKING GIF.
It's so embarrassing. And people defend this because MCC "doesn't make money". I wish I was joking. Someone unironically fucking said in this very comments section "If it doesn’t make money, why continue to spend money on development?" Then look at what Valve did for HL1 and 2 recently. 20 year old games, well past their prime and sales, and they got HUGE updates. Commentary tracks, interviews, documentaries, you name it. It's literally night and day. HL2 is STILL getting updates regardless to this day. For a game that "doesn't make money" according to people like this, it sure is doing well right now, huh? What did Halo 2 get for it's 20th year anniversary? A documentary, like a ViDoc? Maybe custom cosmetics like what we got for Xbox's 20th anniversary? Nameplates? Nope, NOTHING. And what did MCC get for it's 10 year anniversary? NOTHING! Microsoft does not give a flying fuck about Halo anymore and it shows, otherwise they would actually bother to promote their fucking "flagship" IP. Hint, hint, it's no longer their flagship IP, and hasn't been promoted in any recent game showcases like Fable and Perfect Dark have. That shit happened TWICE, by the way. Not even a "hey 343 is working on a new game!". Fucking 343 had to do that themselves during HCS. Halo Infinite came out after Half Life Alyx and Halo has more games than Half Life ever will, but that community is still going strong. Meanwhile Halo is decaying in a ditch. What's funny is that the devs were doing this (with excellent stuff like Flood Firefight) just like Valve did until the MTX shit happened where Microsoft got greedy and wanted people to pay real money when Valve is happily doing updates free of charge. It's only after we told them no that they pulled the plug. It's pure greed and it's disgusting.
@@Nighterac Even then, for those Perfect Dark and Fable promotions, its so spaced out that I mostly forget about them until they are mentioned again. Interestingly, I am not even hyped for the new Perfect Dark
Also, add how Valve finished TF2's storyline after all those years, proving that they're also better than 343 when it comes to mishandling a franchise but later writing their own mistakes right
Managed to play halo 1 ce campaign with my bro last year. Was great. Tried halo 2 campaign and it crashed every 15-30min. The custom multi-player lobbies they added are fun and less infested with bots.

5:00 Even if Infinite and MCC are considered to be competing, deleting the MCC wouldn't suddenly make everyone playing it shift to to Infinite - especially for those of us who play Halo for the campaigns...
I tried to play Infinite campaign, and side bits were alright, but 343 continued to insist upon that which is anathema to Halo. Boss fights. The only one Bungie stuffed into a game that shipped was the Tartarus fight at the end of 2, and it was a bad idea then, too. Why MS keeps on doing it in their Halo titles since I cannot fathom.

Master Chief Collection was such a mess on day one, broken main menu and issues left and right. It's gotten better but it's still inferior to native hardware and crashes on Windows 10 after a few matches. The game is also essentially dead now. Sad reality is that halo was lightning in a bottle that will never be replicated again, the og bungie devs were just special and i dont think any dev team can replicate what they did
This right here is the truth. It was made at the right time by the right people who just wanted to make a game that they thought was fun, it can't be replicated.
True. Halo: CE revolutionized console and FPS games, with sequels adding features which became expected in the franchise (and other games). Now, we are literally sold the color blue, have less free customization, and are lucky to get a feature complete game a decade after development starts. Screw any respect for the core themes, art style, and feel too...
It would have been replicated if 343i were truly interested in the scientific method and worked hard. Or hell, put a bunch of modders on salary to make a bunch of really amazing DLC for the game.
As a modder for MCC I agree 100% about bringing mods to Xbox. I think if they choose to do this, they need to add the ability for custom game browser support for mods as well. There's just so much potential! + we can finally do open test lobbies for players (instead of having to organize through the halo mods discord)
Something I wish they'd do is let us host matchmaking servers with modded custom games. There's literally so much potential with mods that they're just letting slip away
Why they didn't do this is just so mind-boggling. They already implemented Steam Workshop support where it downloads the content even while you're in the game, why the hell is there no modded CGB?
Always makes me wish other games get it but I know it won’t happen, recently stalker 2 for having mods which yea it will…for PC, console version won’t ever get it
11:01 Damn, too bad microtransactions are the only way to keep a game profitable enough to update after launch... if only there was like a type of BIG update, that you could sell, that like had a huge amount of new content like new enemies, weapons and cool unique features, you know like something that EXPANDS on the base games experience... But I guess that would be risky in todays gaming markets, it would be foolish to try something so unproven. too bad there are no critically acclaimed games these days releasing high profile -Expansions- "Big Purchaseable Updates" especially no *_Previous GOTY Award winning games_*
Well, you see, unfortunately all of those things you listed require actual EFFORT. They aren't interested in putting in effort anymore. That's crazy talk. Why would they actually make an expansion with new & interesting content when they can just squeeze out a new shiny skin or dance move (that someone slapped together in 15 minutes) every other week & charge morons $10 for it? They want minimum effort & maximum profits; that's the name of the game now & it's only going to get worse. I'm very happy I got to live through the golden age of gaming when the original Halo games were coming out because it's never coming back. I hate to even write that, but it's the very sad truth.
Here's a novel idea. How about lay off the majority of the marketing team first? Then work on your actual background in the sense of development and coding and actually pay them for once?
Don't be there making sense! We MUST have all these special and DIVERSE people in marketing, regardless of their skill and actual usefulness to the franchise and it's longevity. They don't even like it to begin with? Who cares, it's diverse!
@@Maximilian1990 That would be an applicable thing to say if this was a generic product, but this is a particular IP we're talking about, so you're suggestion is not particularly relevant.
Everyone who joined up whether it be Forgers or people on Digsite knew we weren't going to be getting paid. The real issue that I think most if not all of Forgers and Digsite are the expectations and deadlines placed on people who are doing this for free. Forgers have carried Infinite with new maps and even some new modes. Digsite has done incredible work and uncovered and released content Halo players have been wanting for ages. The devs that are Forgers and Digsite's point of contact with Halo Studios understand, and honestly probably agree that there should be some form of compensation. Forgers haven't been financially compensated, but were gifted a year-long subscription of Game Pass Ultimate. Not quite the compensation that was hoped for, but it's still a noteworthy pricetag, and I think shows someone somewhere is at least making an effort in the studio. I'm not trying to excuse this whole situation, but placing dev deadlines on volunteers puts a sour taste in everyone's mouth and turns what is supposed to be a fun collaboration between the community and studio, a real mess.
@beanpeen4163 Yeah, what are you talking about? The digsite team has always been given credit for their work. Every single video I’ve seen on old stuff dug up has sung the praise of the digsite.
It’s the expectation from Microsoft that these talented people spend their free time to make content for free with no support to a deadline that ultimately benefits Microsoft. It’s a use and a complete spit in the face of these people. It’s no longer a passion project in their eyes it’s were doing what Microsoft wants us to do for free. Mad respect for them all quitting
People never learn. At this point I dont care. Waste your money and get ripped off, not my problem. Halo Studios is 343, 343 hates Halo and the fans, Unreal is not an improvement.
It's good to see at least one person who understands that the move to Unreal is NOT a good thing. Of course they are going to claim it's good for us with PR speak, but they are just doing it so they can onboard their temp contractors a bit faster. Whatever they make still isn't going to be made by anyone who gives a damn about Halo. It's going to be thrown together by a revolving door of temp workers who don't care about what they are doing & it's just going to look like the rest of the Unreal slop with no soul.
@@MeadeJ67 I haven't used their previous engine (Slipspace?) but I've used in-house engines before and.. Unreal is much nicer for artists, 100%. But it's not magic. Unreal engine will just create new problems. I remember the Unreal Engine 3 rush and those games have been the jankiest and worst aging of that Gen. I don't see how that would be any different as what I'm seeing with Unreal Engine 5 games is the same old song and dance just in modern times
Unreal is like the ultra slop engine. Every game look and plays exactly the same. Shit, even Unity has shown the ability to be more unique in some cases.
6:45 THANK YOU I feel like everyone forgets about crossplay campaign. They said Halo 3 and ODST were in "beta" and it hasn't left "beta" and no other game has it. My GF and I are long distance. That's just awful, man. I know a lot of my suggestions for MCC will probably never get picked up by the devs, but I seriously hope that crossplay campaign co-op for all titles comes to the game soon. Just makes no sense to leave a job half done like that.
I thought it was too! I tried to play with my sibling (they are xbox and I'm PC), we then found out we couldn't play campaign together!!! That was only a few months ago. Doesn't matter what their name is and what game they push out. All we needed was modded custom games browser and console mods and the modding community could of ran itself. But I have a feeling microsoft didn't want that. They wanted us to fail. They want to replace us with whatever reboot slop they have. Rewrite history in their image. They have done everything in their power to make halo fail at every chance. Because if MCC was just run by the modding community why would they bother playing their slop? The fact that they stopped doing mod showcases on the blogs on waypoint after 2022, the fact alot of halotubers just don't want to cover mods unless its anything official now. It just feels like they want this to fade away into obscurity and die out.
Digsite were doing a much better job than Microsoft/343 ever fucking will. Crash Site and Alpha Moon genuinely felt like... Halo, again. It's crazy when you have people that actually give a shit and don't just want to waste money buying out huge fucking studios like Activision to compensate for your own IPs going down the shitter, the product turns out good.
The time has come to turn on the Halotubers who prop these fuckers up, and to continue in spite. My take? We got those leaks right? We find someone in a country like Russia or China to carry this shit for us. Someone who could, hypothetically, host a bootleg Halo game server and Microsoft could not do shit about it unless they somehow pulled off convincing the US government to start WW3 over fucking Halo.
imo the problem with MCC is that what it started out as was clearly a marketing and live service platform intended to milk fans of classic Halo whilst advertising 343's upcoming games to them, rather than a genuine attempt to respectfully preserve the original series. Now, that said, I do actually think 343 have made a real effort to transform MCC _into_ a more respectful preservation since then. But the problem is they've been hamstrung all along by the rotten foundation, and I have to assume reduced funding ever since the original (more profitable) plans failed. They tried to use MCC to advertise Halo 5. They tried to add microtransactions. That was their real plan for MCC. But Halo fans (rightly) didn't want either of those things. Basically what I'm saying is MCC was always screwed, from the start. 343 have made a decent effort to bend into the shape of what fans want it to be, but it could never have been perfect because the foundation they've been working on top of for the past decade is just wrong. If someone actually wanted to make a "perfect" Halo collection that preserves the originals as closely as possible, even at this stage it would probably be easier to just start over from scratch. But Microsoft are not going to do that.
They have barely made a "decent effort." They left behind a skeleton crew to fix it after they already moved on to Infinite. If it wasn't for the small, dedicated team, the MCC would still be a soulless shell.
TBH what helped kill both Halo Wars was also the Meta. When an RTS turns into "how fast can I complete this match", that's it, the RTS is on the verge of death. I stopped playing Halo Wars 1 when I would continually get wiped in lobbies because people kept doing zerg rushes. Halo Wars 2 was the same deal.
@@SilverViper1000 Nah, Halo Wars 1 was way better than 2. Much more fun, better story, better maps, and better balancing. Halo Wars 1 is still a decent game, just don’t try to play online if you’re not very good cause all the players left are fuckin sweaty as hell
I think they need to just shelve Halo. To respect the legacy. Make a new IP I don’t care just stop ruining Halo. If you don’t have people who can’t stop ruining it then it’s just time to shelf it. Whether that’s forever or way in the future when someone can actually do it right. That’s all I have to say
@ again just my opinion sorry I didn’t put IMPO way the beginning. Yeah it’s very narrow minded. But I haven’t seen anything positive for halo in like 10 years. Halo fell a long time ago and the heads of it now will never let it go back to the gamers first. It’s been made very clear that we don’t matter. So I mean make them listen, if we all stop consuming their product they will either have to restructure or fall. All the complaining people do on this game just might as well let it go. It was good back then and it will never be what it once was. The present of video games is micro transactions. Now weather that stands the test of time or not who know but the future of video games is bleak and I certainly don’t have hope. But again my opinion, you can have hope, I commend anyone who still has hope for anything now a days. Life fucking sucks and my hope has been long gone. Can’t even look forward to a video game anymore. It is what it is at this point. I just personally don’t think these companies will ever go back. They’re too far gone, they’ll go bankrupt before they get the fan first mentality again.

@@PBart7I too also hate to say it but I agree! They need to shelve halo and make a spin-off halo game. The days of console verse console golden era is no more bc corporations have decided they want to maximise revenue as opposed to creating a good experience for the players. So essentially console gaming is dead. Gaming corporations have gone woke and the entire industry is against the male gamer, their main demographic…. So I have zero hope for games for the future. This Xbox series x is my last Xbox. PC in 5yrs maybe when my Xbox finally dies. Shelving halo until they have people capable of handling it right. No more prerelease fun because you know it's corrupted in some way.... I am just glad I was there in the golden days. In a time when devs hid secret levels you might never see just because it was fun. Nowadays it has to always be about playtime and they have to promote everything.

@@alexanderrobins7497 agreed. We watch time and again 343 struggle to even understand what made halo, halo. No more digsite is coming After the massive success of the halo 2 e3 demo release Microsoft went to the digsite team and went hey yeah we expect you to keep making Herculean efforts in your own free time for free with no support to the deadlines we set. In response to that spit in the face the digsite team quit and someone leaked all of the digsite content. So yeah digsite is finished because of Microsoft stupidity and arrogance.
That's the same reason they lost Bungie in the first place, not so much lack of pay (though I'm sure they undercut them considering how much of a cash cow Halo was back then) but lack of realistic deadlines & just general disrespect. Working for Microsoft should be avoided at all costs.
I just want to see all the games brought under one engine. Every weapon, every armor ability, every grenade. Every map ever, every mission ever, and updated to work well with whatever monstrous playstyle this would breed.
All of the Bungie Halo's & most of 343's "Halo's" already run on the same engine. Heck, even their "new" Slipspace engine isn't all new like they claim, you can still see animations from the Bungie era pop up from time to time.
@@MeadeJ67Calling it "the same engine" is ridiculous, it is a constantly evolving and morphing landscape with deprecated features and functionality/technology/data that isn't identical nor interchangeable between games. To be fair, the changes to Reach were to bring it closer in line to how it looked originally, same with CE and H2. (though the film grain is still missing. I know some people hate it but i'd at least like it as an option so i can let it look just like the og release) Though ODST and H4 still need a glow-up to restore their visuals, it's a shame we probably won't get it now. I absolutely love Halo, but the mismanagement has got to be studied. There is no way that CoD has stayed relevant IP year after year, even though at this point, it's become incredibly diluted, and Halo didn't keep up. Both of them were absolute power houses of online multiplayer games in the early 2000's how did we fall so far?
I feel like slowly but surely Halo Studios is removing all the bits of hope that I had in me, going from excited about their unreal demo to being nervous about Halos future. The only thing worse than 343's chronic sabotage and mismanagement of the Halo IP is the fact that Microsoft has really never held them accountable for any of it.
Beautiful video, the MCC is the only piece of current Halo media I've cared about for years, and this is the prefect vision for it imo. Once it came to PC it reignited the love I had for it as a kid. But the fact that I can't even play coop, splitscreen in any capacity, and online without some serious issues is an outrage. Even trying to play Infinites coop is a horrible experience. It doesn't have a chance to preserve Halo in its true form without functioning coop, same for the future games.
Great video - much much better than the typical Halo UA-cam "news/analysis" slop that's being churned out these days. I'll always resent 343 for subtly implying that it was the community's fault that MCC support has ended, due to us not wanting MTX in it. Like I'm sorry, I don't want to shell out money in a game I paid 60 bucks for, full of games I paid 60 bucks for 10-20 years ago, for content that should be free. It's unconscionable that 343 would try to monetize games that they didn't make under the guise of needing funds to continue support, when they literally have MS backing them. I hope that one day MCC will continue to get the support it deserves - but I highly doubt it.
Don't forget how it is utterly impossible to play Campaign with others on PC without an insane amount of input lag for anyone who isn't host. I can't play any Halo Campaign with my brother who literally lives downstairs without 1 - 2 seconds of input lag. This was acknowledged by MCC's team before, but they refused to fix it because it would be, and I quote, "too much work."
Anything beyond coming up with a new armor coating in Infinite is "too much work" for them at this point. They are interested in minimum effort & maximum profits.
Can you stop caring about something so unimportant when the video is well made & the title actually does apply? What is the point of a comment like this aside from just being an unconstructive jerk? Don't answer that, I won't check back...
I will never understand why companies that make so much money are afraid to pay people or make things cheaper. Or better yet, treat their products with the respect it deserves
Helldiver's most requested collab, I am sure.... Is ODST/Halo of some kind. Halo is still very much a loved franchise. Just.... Not in the hands it's in now.
The midnight launch for this game was memorable. I stood in line with about 10 other people for and hour, and then went home to a game that actually didn't function for weeks.
15:52 Here is the thing: mods do not turn players into payers, especially not regular payers, so those business crackheads are not putting a single dime into further expanding modding platform. And given the recent digsite leak and how companies react to leaks, modding support is not coming to Xbox period.
Im honestly not surprised that MCC is in this state, along with the rest of halo. Its always seemed like theres been some glaring issue, such as infinite's lack of resources and lack of direction during development, the MCC not supporting the continued financial growth provided by MTX, which when rejected by the vocal segment of the halo community, seemingly terminated the MCC's chances of continued support, or just the general abandonment faced by the halo franchise under modern microsoft, where the most microsoft cares with halo is using it to promote a new console release. Another big issue at the moment is halo seems incredibly focused on only a couple of projects at a time. While Halo infinite effectively coasts and generates some additional revenue from MTX, or otherwise benefits from being the most recent release (which is likely why the game still sees some resources put into it still), the MCC and halo 5 are just left to do their own thing (at least halo 5 is in a pretty good position all things considered). Then theres the digsite team. I cant say much, as Im not currently and likely wont ever be fully informed ro the point to say who is most at fault, or who could have picked up the slack, but it just seems incredibly confusing to me how it ever reached this point, where (from what I know), the modders who were not at the time recieving any compensation ir payment for their work were expected to perform with dev level deadlines looming over them. I should also mention that I dont blame Halo studios as a whole entity for any of this. Something happened somewhere between microsoft/halo studios upper management, and it isnt related to the people at halo studios who are just there trying to do their job. Despite all this and how tired I am with halo, I'm going to still choose to support halo studios until I can definitively draw a line in the sand and say how much of halo studios has changed from 343, which for me, involves every aspect if the halo franchise, and while this is a dissappinting letdown, I'm still okay with giving halo studios the opportunity to prove themselves with something wholly seperate from 343, whether it is a game, a book, or some other product/experience. Until then, I'll be mostly sticking to helldivers and ARMA, and whatever games I have on my switch.
It’s interesting to see the contrast between Half life 2’s 20’th anniversary and halo 2’s 20’th anniversary. One had a complete overhaul, improved mod support, and it was free. The other has been left to die, and had cosmetics made about it, for an unfinished cash grab.
Because Valve actually created their own games & they actually care about those game & their fans. They understand how important they are. Without those games & those fans they would be nothing today. On the other hand, Bungie crated Halo. Microsoft has just been cashing in the whole time. Sure, they funded the games, but they have nothing to do with their actual creation, they didn't put in any of the work. They only care about Halo if it's raking in money for them, otherwise they couldn't care less about the IP or the droves of insanely dedicated fans.
@@MeadeJ67I cared about Halo the same way Bungie did. Too bad they hired people at 343 that didn't know anything about what made Halo good. Not entirely MS's fault, is it?
Another awesome video. You're easily my go to Halo channel. Microsoft/Halo Studios doesn't care about MCC or the Bungie products, they only care about what they have created, work in an echo chamber listening to themselves, as you said they don't care about the modders/fans who keep the better game alive. It's just the modern world we live in. The studios think they know best, even until they go bankrupt.
I'm tired boss... This franchise has been through almost 2 decades of neglect and abuse. I don't know how much longer I can hold out. At this point I don't think it will ever get better let alone recover to what it once was... Halo died with reach in my opinion. The bar was set there and it has yet to be surpassed.
I still wish this collection had the original credits for these games in it! Part of why Halo 4's ending hits so hard is the version of Never Forget that plays the credits, and that is totally lost in it's MCC remaster. Wish they'd change that
Even though I'm not really a Halo player (I've only beaten the first game and played some of 2 online on the OG Xbox via Insignia), it's honestly depressing seeing how far the franchise has fallen. It was a franchise so huge it set the bar for so many games in the 2000s, was breaking records left and right, and had so many developers trying to make "Halo Killers" to get a piece of that pie, but in the end, the only thing that could kill Halo were the people holding it up in the first place.
I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I loved Halo almost too much during the Bungie days, so these days, I find myself either depressed or pissed off when it comes to Halo news these days. Unless it's another campaign mod for Halo CE, in which case I always welcome an excuse to play Halo CE slightly different again. Not to say the other games don't have great campaign mods, but Halo CE has the best mods.
@@Nikos. Definitely! Just a shame it took so long to get to this point and then the population dropped off a cliff again. The 30 minute search times are definitely a common occurrence now.
First thing about Halo after 2010, it never gets better. I abandoned hope with Halo 4 and it's crazy to see people still holding on all these years later.
I think another problem may be that 343/Halo studios doesn't want to bother with any game they themselves didn't make. They probably hate that most people prefer the games from before they took over and so are okay with letting those games fall into disrepair. If this is the case they fail to realise that people arten't going to like their games any better if they let the other ones break, it just means people stop playing *any* Halo game at all.
I played my original Xbone a handful of times over 3 years, then sold it and bought a One X in 2018 when some decent games finally started coming out for it. But during most of the 8th console generation, I was playing the 360 instead.
Microsoft sucks ass, but I really don't care that the modders weren't getting paid for digsite. It's not like Microsoft screwed them out of money, these modders accepted not being paid, so there's no reason to expect them to be paid. That said, I do not blame the modders for quitting the project because of it. They're not getting paid so they have no obligations to continue just because Microsoft was surprised by how much more popular the mods were than they expected. That said, Microsoft should've been willing to negotiate a pay check for them at that point to continue working on them if the alternative is no more of these things Microsoft clearly wants to cash in on due to their popularity. Microsoft after the big Halo 2 E3 demo digsite clearly saw there was money to be made after that one, so you have to spend a little money to make a little money.
I've recently done RGH3 to me Xbox. Since no one else in Australia plays Halo I've been going around to friends places who played the game as kids. Whipping out the old 360 and playing some classic Halo's that were already polished upon release. It's the most fun we've had in years

This videos needs to be played in a halo studios board room, it would fix every problem omg. as an avid player of mcc, it lets me relive the glory days in that way, and allows me to introduce my friends who didn’t grow up with halo like I did to experience it for the first time, halo studios NEEDS to put time and effort into this game, otherwise we may loose the most important gaming experience of many of our lives, I pray for mcc man 🙏
While I still disagree that 343i and HS are the same, the Digsite members not being paid is insanely disrespectful and not a good look for the rebrand. Sure, it’s possible Microsoft and their “out of touch, big corpo” energy simply didn’t think Digsite was a good enough investment to be lending cash to so it could’ve been out of HS’s hands. I want to believe that, but as far as I know there’s no info YET that can confirm or deny who’s really at fault here. And that makes me feel worried for the future of my all time favorite franchise, and coming from someone who tries really hard to be fair and optimistic that really fucking sucks.

They still haven't fixed Halo Reach's campaign issues, such as the space section being way harder than it should be, or that elevators just.. Don't work right, to put it mildly. It's been years, they probably aren't fixing it, but I'm not letting them forget it either. They need to stop shafting the MCC as much as they tend to do, because at this point, it's the only way to play the Bungie titles nowadays for most people, including myself. MCC needs much more love than what it usually gets. Generally agree with a lot in this video though otherwise. All of these ideas would be fucking brilliant, and should be added if possible. (Also, albeit unrelated, the pinned comment you gave me on the Gravity Hammer video decided to unpin itself because apparently UA-cam automatically does that because I corrected one typo. You willing to repin it for me? Not a big deal ultimately if not, but man, UA-cam really does not like it when you edit comments apparently. Thanks, UA-cam.)

Halo never got the respect it deserves from 343. The lore breaking stories, redesigns, and multiplayer flops have disgraced this beloved franchise.
It needs the human touch but not many are capable of that these days unfortunately.
Microsoft hired people who specifically hate halo, and the customer.

Yeah, some "collaboration". They do all the work MS/343 take all the credit
@ They don’t though?
@beanpeen4163 Yeah, what are you talking about? The digsite team has always been given credit for their work. Every single video I’ve seen on old stuff dug up has sung the praise of the digsite.
It’s the expectation from Microsoft that these talented people spend their free time to make content for free with no support to a deadline that ultimately benefits Microsoft.
It’s a use and a complete spit in the face of these people. It’s no longer a passion project in their eyes it’s were doing what Microsoft wants us to do for free.
Mad respect for them all quitting
My take? Fuck em, we will stand on our own. The new leaks, nobody can stop us.

Unreal has it's own obstacles and one is, like you said, oversaturation. You can kinda pick an Unreal game out pretty quick
It was the same with UE3, that UT3/Gears feel to everything
@@0lionheart And UE5 isnt even finished iirc?
She is on Xbox and I'm on PC, it would be nice to play with her without spending money on a xbox live (sorry "game pass core") every time we want to play classic halo together.
Why even bother having the Anti-cheat in the first place?
You may as well have community make their own Anti-cheats than trying to trust 343 to prevent cheaters

simple. dedicated servers with moderators like the old days. not perfect but better than this BS.
Just take a look at how Halo Wars 2 support was secretly canceled and take a look at how MCC is being handled right now.
imo the problem with MCC is that what it started out as was clearly a marketing and live service platform intended to milk fans of classic Halo whilst advertising 343's upcoming games to them, rather than a genuine attempt to respectfully preserve the original series.
1:35 nah don’t do halo wars 2 dirty like that 😂
Oh they completely abandoned HW2. It's not even on Steam, lmao. Jesus Christ
TBH what helped kill both Halo Wars was also the Meta. When an RTS turns into "how fast can I complete this match", that's it, the RTS is on the verge of death. The leak is the last good thing to happen to the Halo universe since Halo 3.
That’s not how anything works, and shelving Halo isn’t the solution at all. That’s a very narrow minded way of thinking.
I hate to say it but I agree. Xbox doesn't know how to handle ANY of its IPs anymore. They let this happen to Halo. Why should we expect ANTHING of value from a company that let their flagship series fall into shit and irrelevancy?
@@PBart7I too also hate to say it but I agree! They need to shelve halo and make a spin-off halo game. They have not made 1 good complete game that all the fans can unanimously agree on as a complete good halo game. The community has been split and at each others throats over which game hit and which didn’t. When it’s clear with the demographics. No 343 game ever hit. Microsoft has failed Halo, they failed their handling of 343 and MS has failed Xbox. As an Xbox player since 2001. This is the end for me. Series x Xbox is my last Xbox. Like the OP my hope for the future of the gaming industry is dead. I have zero hope for the gaming industry. The last new big game was Fortnite. Let that sink in. Halo infinite failed hard, COD war zone got overran by cheaters, all CODs are like your playing the same game. SP games don’t hit to a player like me who likes online MP. Xbox cross playing against pc has made being an Xbox player feel like a delayed terrible experience on a slow piece of machinery, online MP pvp down to input delay and system deficiencies. Imma ride it into the ground and then maybe buy a Pc or in 5 it might be time to retire from gaming for good.

I don't hate to say it. I just agree.
Man true words have been spoken. Microsoft not having he player first mentally and propably never will.

No more digsite is coming
After the massive success of the halo 2 e3 demo release Microsoft went to the digsite team and went hey yeah we expect you to keep making Herculean efforts in your own free time for free with no support to the deadlines we set.
There is a mod/s for arma 3 that has just about every weapon, vehicle, and (marine) armor from every game
The engine having the same name in multiple titles spanning many years is inconsequential.
To be fair, the changes to Reach were to bring it closer in line to how it looked originally, same with CE and H2. (though the film grain is still missing. I know some people hate it but i'd at least like it as an option so i can let it look just like the og release)
Though ODST and H4 still need a glow-up to restore their visuals, it's a shame we probably won't get it now. Alongside casual Invasion, I wish we got matchmaking for Spartan Ops (H4 originally had this since its ass to play solo)

343 is still spending all it's time trying to get infinite to the state of a launch version of any of Bungies halos. Its honestly amazing how 343 have put out 3 titles no one gives a shit about and yet they still are allowed to develop halo
When will people learn?
The people making Halo now are both talentless hacks and hate the franchise, hence all the fck ups we've seen since 2011.
Call them 343i, call them Halo Studios, whatever they want to go by now, they hate Halo and don't know how to make working games. Period.
Halo is dead. All we have now is Gaylo.
So they are cancelling support for the only good Halo game on Xbox live? That's rough.
Could we get a better title than “blank situation is crazy”

Staring at the Halo 2 menu really hit home 😭

I'm tired boss... This franchise has been through almost 2 decades of neglect and abuse. I don't know how much longer I can hold out. At this point I don't think it will ever get better let alone recover to what it once was... Halo died with reach in my opinion. The bar was set there and it has yet to be surpassed.
I still wish this collection had the original credits for these games in it! Part of why Halo 4's ending hits so hard is the version of Never Forget that plays the credits, and that is totally lost in it's MCC remaster. Wish they'd change that
Like just how bad the managers are is almost funny if it wasn't sad.
I remember when MCC launched I was so excited to play matchmaking and waited an hour for a match. Those were the days 😎

Brilliantly well said, my friend, halo is literally my most played game of all time, sometimes I do wish bungee held onto the title, but seeing as what they are doing with destiny now, maybe it was for the better
Yeah, Microsoft doesn’t care enough to give us any of this.
The glory days of Eldewrito on PC have still not been matched by MCC, all MCC needs is mod support for the custom games browser and we're golden
Tencent or Netease needs to make a halo like shooter if we are ever going to get a good halo game
I’m not a hugeee halo fan but I really like the video, good editing, great humor, and amazing video overall, pretty surprised you only have 20k subs tbh. keep up the great work(:
343 killed Halo.
Ngl the edits in this vid are hilarious, you deserve more subs than 20k. 👍
Halo MCC should have rentable servers and rentable modded servers which can be used to further support the game.
Future MCC updates I would like to see involve the customization of Reach Elites to be akin to their 3 and 2A counterparts, Weapon Display Offsets to be weapon specific, every Forge map to have every Forge item in their respective game, etc.

#MakeHalo1andHalo2BackwardCompatible
There must be a reason why they're not doing this, otherwise they would have done so already
@@Tom-dw2fg yes, the reason is greed and sloth
This videos needs to be played in a halo studios board room, it would fix every problem omg. as an avid player of mcc, it lets me relive the glory days in that way, and allows me to introduce my friends who didn’t grow up with halo like I did to experience it for the first time, halo studios NEEDS to put time and effort into this game, otherwise we may loose the most important gaming experience of many of our lives, I pray for mcc man 🙏
Those bastards really fucked up the launch and hurt the Halo franchise... Killing so much momentum
That transition at 6:53 is wild, great work there!
Ur editing is so damn good man I’m still watching this but just wanted to say that
I love that little cut showing off the Mythic Overhaul for Halo 4 lmao. It really is 'Halo 4 but good'.
Jesus christ this video is so important, I really hope those dopes are listening.
They haven't been listening for the past 10+ years, there's no reason to believe they are going to start now.

TF2: Hey I seen this one!
MCC: What you mean you seen this one, this is brand new?
They are complicit in this.
Same studio
@ They’ve been made up of different people BEFORE the rebrand. They’re factually not the same.
@@nicholasshealy9040 wrong. It's the same studio.
@@Sebomai-b8i How are they the same, when they’re different?
Anybody else still waiting for the “Featured Items” section of the Exchange to update? 🤣
I decided to not purchase some of the poses from it because I “knew” they’d be back in a few months when I’d have spare spartan points but now it’s been like 2 years and I’ve got over 300 spare points and they’re the only damn thing I haven’t unlocked 😭
I found a fix for the space fight…..camp behind the space station…..eh not a fix but something.
Don't worry, I gotchya!
@@LaperLarden Thanks mate. You're a real one. Hope you had a good christmas btw.
Reach is my favourite game of all time period. Sad MCC player count is dying and fkn INVASION is in competitive, like the game mode is the literal opposite of competitive. I would love to play it but can never find games.
