Ford Swapped NC Miata on Wet Track | FULL SEND

  • Set up is good. Grinding 3/4 gears forced slow shifts/clutch release. A new transmission will resolve this. I destroyed a hub during this session and had the car towed to auto zone.

Very enjoyable video, loved when it was wet at Sebring and my RX8 felt like it had 800 HP and I was passing all the high horsepower cars. I've seen hub failures on Miatas and you were lucky the wheel didn't come off! I've been really thinking about getting an NC with a bad engine and Ford swapping it. It makes it what it should have been.

Can't tell you how many times I've appreciated the fact that the miata requires an upward push on the stalk to turn the wipers off or to initiate a single wipe. If the windshield just needs a quick swipe, it's much easier to take your hand from the shifter, straight up to the stalk, and back. Our Ford Escape it backwards from this, and it always throws me off. Feels very unnatural.

BTW the 2.3 still runs great, burns zero oil and scoots pretty damn good with 190,000 on the clock . So the 2.3 has served me well so far.
