The good thing about a lot of this stuff today is that this is all out in the open now! You honestly can’t screw Artists over now a days like you could back in the 50s-60s-70s because everyone knows this happened so much back in the day! Prince rallied against this ferociously and talked about it a lot before he passed and it’s just a shame that over the years it was so common for this to happen! You see artists like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift making millions now because they’re smart and have good people in their inner circle that won’t accept that old school crap that record companies used to pull! It’s just a different time now and I’m glad that it is better financially for the Artists!!!!
Artists of old weren't screwed either. They were offered a negotiable contract, and they signed it. Yall doing too much more.
@ No the point is that the Artist makes the money….Period! There’s not one record executive that’s ever gone out on a stage and performed!! So the Artist should get most of the money! However that was not the case back in the day! It’s just a Fact! Nowadays Artists have their own label and they control their music and the production of said music and distribution and touring!! That’s the way it should have always been!

Entertainers, entertain, the business raises the funds, hires the staff, makes the necessary connections, takes the biggest risk, and ( if ) success, by the way the majority of the artist/acts they sign fail, then if there is a successful act they reap their profits and reinvest back into the artist/project.
