Those were my prime years, and being from Philly, that’s just how it was. I know I have some VHS tapes in my parents basement somewhere for sure haha. I kind of “retired” from performing so much in the early/mid 2000’s after getting married. Basically just play locally at Zanzibar Blue and WarmDaddy’s. Jam out, of course. This is great because post-The NE Story, I was always waiting for a Ralph interview. I've watched a few he's done with radio hosts or a podcast here and there. However, BBD, Bobby & Johnny all appeared on The Breakfast Club or other notable media outlets after BET aired the biopic. Now, I can't wait to watch this whole interview!
@@ComicPierre wow, now that's a big deal then! Makes me even more excited for what's to come! Hey, you keep doing what you're doing with your interviews! Bringing voices to the people that don't always get the chance to get heard :)
Definitely wasn't a beef between Ralph and Bobby. Bobby shouts him out in the liner notes of the Don't Be Cruel album. He shouts out the whole group, but he specifically mentions Ralph.
First Biv on My Expert Opinion now Ralph T on the Pierre show???!!!! I'm having a hell of a week. _When I Need Somebody_ stays on rotation in my Spotify.
He came out with his solo album and smashed it. They had one of those great groups in the nineties and I wish they would've stuck together longer besides them doing their own thing.
Not really Ronnie was the last one added to New Edition as a group of 5. He has his own style but wasn't the best vocalist just like Michael Bivins. This is why they started BBD with Rickey being the lead vocalist. It worked out for everyone who all brought something different to the table.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, NE is so fortunate that Ralph isn't a selfish guy. No disrespect to any of the other members but from top to bottom Ralph is he most talented one and he's the one who wanted to be in the group more than any of them, it's wild.
@@genohall2235 That's why I said top to bottom, because I was including the dancing and the look/persona. Ralph is either best or second best in every category.

Pierre asked a few questions that were answered in the biopic, and then it dawned on me we were able to hear the legit answer from Ralph, so that was a good move by Pierre... way to go Pierre. I like how Ralph answered those questions, truthfully, but with class and loyalty. I only seen this segment of the interview, but I gotta give props, great job Pierre...✊ would like to see you get Christopher Williams, or Al B on there.
We love ALL SIX together. There is no slight to anyone. We always wanna see all six together. If all six aren't on the stage us #NE4LifErs feel a let down. As Ralph said we want the full experience. Then those same hating men got over themselves and started enjoying the show with the TON of NE female fans who were ALWAYS in attendance. Ralph has mentioned how fellas were hating on them back in the day because of all the ladies coming to their shows. We're stilling coming. Our men suddenly wanna come to shows too.
I agree Don't be cruel album is a classic... It's not always in terms of money that indicates what's the best album... Me personally I'm 51 years old I grew up in a new edition era and I would rather listen to the Don't be cruel album then the thriller album
@@dantemackey7471I gotta agree with you 1000%! I’m with you, yes Thriller sold way way way more albums, but me personally, I could take or leave it. Now in terms or Don’t Be Cruel, that album hit a different kind of way. For that time period DBC didn’t even really fit in. It was some we had never heard. To this day all I need is DBC’s intro beat and I stop what I’m doing. Kinda the same way that Poison intro beat hits! NE4LYFE homie!💯💪🏿
You can't judge a member of a group by their popularity. A lot of those members do the most behind the scenes. When they aren't there. The music isn't the same. I believe Ronnie Devoe held the dancing and clothing styles down for N. E.
Man New Edition is the best R&B group in my era. The Temptations may be better but that’s not my era so I didn’t see it. One thing I don’t think any other group has done except for New Edition is split up and every last member be super successful.

Why is he interviewing Ralph about Bobby? Ralph is the man! Ask him how he does the whole intro and he still can sing without being outta breff (yes breff😂). What is Ralph workout routine?
Great interview! Like all NE fans we know Rizz is the true front man, but in terms of vocals l think Ricky Bell has always been criminally overlooked for his comparable talent, it's probably cause he doesn't have the traditional "look" of a lead - at least not when compared to RT, Bobby or even JG. 🙏🏿+👊🏿 from London Pierre#NE4Ever

I kind of “retired” from performing so much in the early/mid 2000’s after getting married. Basically just play locally at Zanzibar Blue and WarmDaddy’s. Jam out, of course. I still run into Jaz ( Jazzy Jeff) from time to time. Bilal will call up when he has a show from time to time if he can’t find another bass player. Which is cool.
And, no, I was not “big time” in my hey day. I would say the biggest tour I did was Jill Scott across the country. Other than that, it would mainly be those three city promotional tours for new albums or whatever, or a few shows here and there.
But, yeah, we agree totally. Ralph definitely should have dropped his FIRST! Ralph had stage presence as well. Just because he wasn’t buckwild, I feel he would have given a good show on the solo tip. What I never understood is friend is friends, and business is business. For the life of me, i never understood why they kept giving Bobby a chance haha like when they got back together with six of them. They knew Bobby would be late and not show up and all that. It couldn’t have been me at all. Sure, we came out the sandbox together, but you know how you are and I know how you are. If you ain’t with the group thing im cool with that, but you ain’t messing up my money homie. We’ll just hang out afterwards haha
I can’t even put into words how dope Ralph was smh as a little boy I wanted to be that dude so bad lol
❤❤
Imagine New Edition doing the Super Bowl halftime 🔥
That would be amazing ❤
Truth
😮😮😮🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Yeesssss!

The man, the myth, the legend
Well said
Ralph T is cooler than a fan…… Been a fan from the beginning my guy….. Great job Pierre
He's also very loyal because he could've went solo so many times
@@carolmoore697 He did.
@@YourRealDaddy100Eventhough He Recorded Solo Songs Of Himself He Waited Till Every Other Member To Release Their Solo Projects First. One Love Fam...
😂cooler than a Fan, I like that comment,👏👏👏 Respect 😂
@@jonjonharreld7602 That's is true
Man Pierre thank you for interviewing my favorite entertainer of all time! It’s about time somebody got Riz on they show 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💪🏾
Ralph was my favorite and still is ❤❤❤
This is great because post-The NE Story, I was always waiting for a Ralph interview. I've watched a few he's done with radio hosts or a podcast here and there. However, BBD, Bobby & Johnny all appeared on The Breakfast Club or other notable media outlets after BET aired the biopic.
Now, I can't wait to watch this whole interview!
I’m honored that he sat down with me. Because he don’t really sit down solo
And Ralph does the same... especially in his song Rated R
That was a dope era w R&B so many classic groups RALPH T✊🏽
Can't tell me nothing when Sensitivity start bumpin 🕺🏾
First Biv on My Expert Opinion now Ralph T on the Pierre show???!!!! I'm having a hell of a week. _When I Need Somebody_ stays on rotation in my Spotify.
IKR! That Biv interview/conversation was so good!
Forever a star. Love his voice and looks❤❤❤❤
He came out with his solo album and smashed it. They had one of those great groups in the nineties and I wish they would've stuck together longer besides them doing their own thing.
I love that him amd mike give damn near the same answers about bobby and that they have always stayed five homies from the projects
If any member is missing during a concert its a let down. We love to see all 6 #ne4life
New Edition then, now, and always. Looking forward to watching this one.
I love when our brothers protect each other.
Ronnie Devoe should feel a certain way from this clip! LMFAO 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💀
Facts!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
not nice to hear.
Not really Ronnie was the last one added to New Edition as a group of 5. He has his own style but wasn't the best vocalist just like Michael Bivins. This is why they started BBD with Rickey being the lead vocalist. It worked out for everyone who all brought something different to the table.
@@nechemyahyasharal3678 Nice facts. Thanks
I've said it before and I'll say it again, NE is so fortunate that Ralph isn't a selfish guy. No disrespect to any of the other members but from top to bottom Ralph is he most talented one and he's the one who wanted to be in the group more than any of them, it's wild.
Love Ralph, but Johnny is the most talented vocalist…
@@genohall2235
That's why I said top to bottom, because I was including the dancing and the look/persona. Ralph is either best or second best in every category.
@@UhurasDurag
That’s why I made sure to add vocalist. I wasn’t disagreeing just commenting…🙏🏾💯🙋🏾♂️
@@genohall2235
Understood. It's nice to be able to speak rationally with someone in this comment section haha.
@@UhurasDurag
I agree, usually I’ll find a comment that kinda speaks to me and add my two cents, whether it’s something I agree or disagree with. If it’s well articulated I comment. In my view people can agree or disagree without being disagreeable. 🙏🏾💯🍺
Pierre asked a few questions that were
answered in the biopic,
and then it dawned on me we were able to hear the legit answer from Ralph,
so that was a good move by Pierre...
way to go Pierre.
I like how Ralph answered those questions,
truthfully, but with class and loyalty.
I only seen this segment of the interview,
but I gotta give props,
great job Pierre...✊
would like to see you get Christopher Williams,
or Al B on there.
I disagree Ralph didn't carry them not hating but every body solo album dis better than ralph
true...
Yo Baby Yo is still a banger! Shout out Ralph Tresvant and the House Party 2 crew 😁😁😁🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bobby was the leader! Bobby once came to Karaoke at Slades in Boston. He put in a show impromptu.
We love ALL SIX together. There is no slight to anyone. We always wanna see all six together. If all six aren't on the stage us #NE4LifErs feel a let down. As Ralph said we want the full experience. We wanna see all of them together. If Ronnie isn't up on that stage you better know I'm still gonna feel some kinda way. This is a male interviewer so y'all wasn't really feeling NE back in the day until those same hating guys started approaching "midlife crisis" years.
Bobby Brown Don't Be Cruel Album R&B Classic up there with Thriller 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Stop the 🧢 Thriller sold 70 million albums, Don't be Cruel sold 8 million
@@styner3it’s not about sales idiot. He means impact. Longevity. It’s easily a top 10 r&b album of all time.
Imagine if "on our own" was on that album!!!!!!! He would have went to a whole mother stratosphere!!!!!!!!
Dope we just got a dope Mike Biv over at Math Hoffa now Ralph at panic room
Love the band's music. Loved the biopic. Enjoy Ralph as a nighttime radio host now.
most loyal lead singer ever !!!!!!
You can't judge a member of a group by their popularity. A lot of those members do the most behind the scenes. When they aren't there. The music isn't the same. I believe Ronnie Devoe held the dancing and clothing styles down for N. E.
One of the smoothest brothers I've ever seen
That was Nice! Ralph is as smooth as Joe Cool! Great Interview! Good Work Pierre! 🏆🎤💜
I’ve been in love with Ralph my whole life…like since the cradle! 😍😍😍😍
Girl me too!!!
Same here!
Love ❤ you Ralph. I'm glad he held his own despite Pierre's terrible interviewing skills.
You really do love your Boo. Glad Ralph enjoyed himself and wants to do another with me. 😂.
I agree. He was actually a distractionm
Ralph's voice IS the lead of NE. Period. There is no NE without Ralph.
I say the same thing all the time.💯

THANK YOU!!!!!
Ralph voice but if it wasn't for bobby there wouldn't be no New edition ❤💯
But johnny voice though I remember back then when johnny was Ralph replacement for real because he became to arrogant as they would say back then
We appreciate you, Ralph!🤝🏽
Ralph is THAT DUDE💯
Can't wait for the whole interview
Man New Edition is the best R&B group in my era. The Temptations may be better but that’s not my era so I didn’t see it. One thing I don’t think any other group has done except for New Edition is split up and every last member be super successful.
Nice to know they weren't beefing and all that. I think they wanted us to think there was a problem between them but they were artists in the studios and brothers in life. Nice😊
Most of the times it's not the artists. It's the label and the managers that cause division
I'm glad that is the way it is with them. They are a great group of guys@@tj1338
I've ALWAYS rocked w/Ralph...I loved all the brothers, but Ralph was my favorite!
Love my New Edition guys. Love Ralph and his smooth sexy self, but I’m gonna need Pierre to chill with the shade thrown at Ronnie. 😂 That’s the boo!! ❤❤
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE RALPH TRESVANT!❤ Since 1983❤ Thank you, Pierre, for this awesome interview👏🏾
From lil boys to ole legends.
NE Forever!!
Man,Ralph is so fine😍My fav,the ultimate showman and vocally gifted
Ralph T. Would of been the Next MJ ,but he kept his loyalty to them
Pierre this a good one. Please get Teddy Riley on the pod. Let him tell you what inspired the new Jack swing sound. You’d be surprised.
Ion care what Pierre was try to do, fact remains Ralph is a classic renaissance type of man. Not a hating bone in his body. Im pumping up Sensitivity when it hits my speakers!
Wow Ralph doing an interview!!!??? OMG!!!! I can't believe it!!!! That's what's up!!!!
Ralph Tresvant was my ultimate favorite member of NE.His so handsome, and I just always and still love him so much. God bless you.
No matter what he stayed loyal to N.E.
From the get go he put the group before himself. I will always love Ralph T.
Look up the song You'll Remember Me by Ralph T. It's an oldie but it's still the jam.
Great interview Pierre... Love New Edition ❤
Don’t fall for that, that’s not the real Ralph. It’s a fake
@a-m3248 Thank you hun, I knew as soon as I read what's app.
cant lie bobby carried that group in and out of it on his back
We love all of them but Bob gotta be there period or it's not the same!
Ralph a real stand up guy sacrificing a lot, love me some Rizzo
Ralph is a GOAT💯💯
Ralph is a class act. Messy will never be him so Pierre stop trying.
Why is he interviewing Ralph about Bobby? Ralph is the man! Ask him how he does the whole intro and he still can sing without being outta breff (yes breff😂). What is Ralph workout routine?
I want to see ALL of them. If Ralph wasn’t there, it would be a problem. Period. 🤷🏾♀️
I have been in love with this man for 40 years and I’m 46😩
Great interview! Like all NE fans we know Rizz is the true front man, but in terms of vocals l think Ricky Bell has always been criminally overlooked for his comparable talent, it's probably cause he doesn't have the traditional "look" of a lead - at least not when compared to RT, Bobby or even JG. 🙏🏿+👊🏿 from London Pierre#NE4Ever
😂😂😂 why he kept on dissin’ Ronnie and then said, “no disrespect” 😂😂😂
I love Ronnie that’s my guy smh
Ronnie might've took one of his girls😢😂😂😂
Thanks Ralph for your honesty!
Ralph is the greatest lead singer of a group.
Have you not heard of David ruffin or Marvin junior of the dells go listen to them
@@Gojo-maxpurple all of them. But when you look at longevity, consistency, performance, dedication to his craft, and his level of professionalism Ralph is top tier. Now if you’re talking vocals I’ll go with Ruff all day long. I’m looking at complete body of work.

Hella back handed compliments going on
they didn't even want the entire New Edition group - they wanted Ralph. They wanted him to be another MJ. He basically is responsible for everyone in the group's career - Salu' to him!!!
EXCEPT for Johnny...
9:55 LMAO This is why I love Pierre. He's spot on and I used to say this myself. I thought 'Rated R" was the best song on his 1st solo album. I'll wait for the full interview.

Love you Ralph!! Your so humble!!!
If Bobby ain't there, the whole night is messed up. When I went to see NE back in March, I was anxious until Bobby took the stage. Life is good after that.
All the members of new edition are legendary.
Ralph Tresvant is fine as hell.
Every group needs a glue guy Otis is that for the Temps and Ralph is that for NE.

Very nice interview
I'm surprised he doesn't see himself as a sex symbol because he exudes sex when he's on stage. Especially when he performs Sensitivity.
I've also seen footage of his solo shows here on UA-cam, and he allows women to get very handsy. Blew me away!
Good interview Pierre
