Iam 43 yrs old and was a alcoholic for years due to depression and stress and trying to hide the pain I dranked so much that I was no longer getting drunk and I got tired of drinking so July 8 of 2024 I stopped drinking all together also being a chronic alcoholic caused me to age a lot what you do to your body on the inside will eventually show on the outside I have been sober for 4 months and still going strong it’s also been 4 months since I stopped smoking weed my health is more important and I want to live longer I also stopped hanging around people who still drink and smoke so I won’t fall back into temptation you have to change people places and things if you want to see change
I completely stopped drinking last year and now I can’t imagine going back because I feel so good without it! Mind and body much stronger and sharper without it!
I stopped drinking & smoking for 3 months & I haven't smoked or drank any alcohol since. I miss smoking weed but health is wealth & health comes first. I'm 32yrs old & I'm starting to be more conscious about my health because I don't want to wait till I reach 50 & then decide I want to start talking care of myself because it might be too late & things might start going wrong so to avoid any of that I decided I will stop & once in a blue moon I may drink some wine & sometimes I vape but only occasionally & at first it was hard for me to stop but music is one of the few things that helps me stop & I exercise more by running & doing some push ups & I'm keeping it that way & I barely go out or hangout because I would be tempted to start back smoking & drinking again
Me too, I quit smoking weed in 2019 an I was doin it every now and then but I stopped completely an I do miss it sometimes but u right health is wealth an I was never a drinker so that was easy to completely quit.
@RonaldJames-eo2hc.. That's smart. It's good you're starting to monitor your health at your age now. I'm 48, and I can tell you it's harder as you get older, but if you begin to be more conscious of it at a younger age, it'll be easier. My cholesterol and triglycerides started creeping up during my early 40s. By then, old habits are harder to break. I just got my lab back last week and it's the best it's been in years, but it has been a lot of work. Good for you that you're taking it seriously now. Keep it up!
Facts! Turning 30 and I’ve been health conscious lately tryna start back working out and still praying to quit smoking but I slowed down a lot compared to how I use to smoke but no drinks rarely occasion
Went from smoking every day while living with my ex in my late 20s to now stopping a few months after my 32nd, glad I put the drink down in my early 20s as well. May go back to a lil or just stick with edibles but it definitely takes a toll and can tell my body is trying to detox with all the mucus and phlegm I've been releasing. Drink more water and keep healthy kings we all we got.
Man....I used to drink heavy in my 20s-30s, wake up feeling like dog shit the next day just to do it all over again. Like the man Warren said, I won't say I'll never drink again, but it will have to be on a day when I don't have nothing to do the following day or just have ONE drink (it's hard just to have one, so I'd rather be sober, lol!). Filling the day with productive activities helps (work, school, exercise, pursuing hobby/passion project, helping in the community, etc.) Peace 🙏✌
Quitting alcohol is extremely hard, especially if you have an addiction so much praise to the OG for staying on a healthy path!! After getting a certain age you have to slow down on it or your body will definitely show you in other ways that you need to quit.
Props to Warren for him sharing this personal story. Props to all you grown men out there who are going through sobriety and putting your health 1st. Addiction is hard as fuck to overcome. I struggled with drug addiction for 14+ years. Alcoholism too but not as bad. Cancer sticks too. I have over 16 yrs clean & completely gave it all up. Haven’t had a drink in 2 yrs and stop smoking them cancer sticks in 15 yrs. It ain’t easy but it’s all possible. My kids and their mom is my motivation. I ultimately do it for me. When you love your life and freedom, it can be achieved. Props to all of you.
5 years clean and sober, I stopped smoking weed before I stopped drinking alcohol‼️.. My health is the most important thing that I have going on in life.. 3-4 days working out 1-2 hours, my next problem is I need to change my eating habits...
Thank you for sharing this Warren, this was really educational to me now I’ll be looking differently at my drinking habit much love to you stay blessed!
Alcohol and cigarettes literally have no benefit for the human body whatsoever. NEVER touch cigs and if you do happen to drink just drink a little. You don’t need to drink until you’re seeing double or can’t walk. Just have a drink, once you feel the buzz stop and then sip water (slowly) the rest of the night….
I been drinkin pretty much every nite 4 about a yr now but it's 1-2 16 oz 12% drinks(similar 2 mikes harder smirnoff flavored drinks) and my intake or desire 4 more has not increased at all over the time

@ I think drinking every night is excessive. Maybe try cutting it down to just Friday and Saturday and keep reducing until you no longer want to drink. Then
Yup, I'm 28 and I've been hospitalized three times because I struggle incredibly with alcohol. This last time I went essentially into shock and couldn't move because my body was shutting down due to poisoning my liver and no electrolytes in me. Got control very quickly this last trip and have been blessed greatly with what has come. I will be honest, I do drink when I go out still and with friends, but that needs to change all together in all honesty. Day by day and just so everyone knows my opinion, alcohol is the hardest drug to quit and the worst drug in existence
That's the strategy for me. I've noticed if I don't drink for several weeks, and then I have a couple beers or scotch, I get so excited to have them and it's satisfying. If you drink them all the time it just becomes a drinking problem.

Congratulations, man. I have over a year and a half without alcohol and It's enlightening. I've been freestyle and writing rhymes for 22 years, and I'm a good lyricist, but I'm even better without alcohol and I don't like how alcohol is promoted in rap or hip hop when it just leads to our people going to jail or prison.
People don’t realize they have a problem until its too late. Too many end up with permanent problems when they should have stopped and started rehabbing in their 20s or 30s
This is spot-on concerning the effects that not only alcohol has on our bodies. But the American diet is ladened w/tons of sugar, salt, fat, and processed foods. If we don't take back our temples and feed our kids good, wholesome, natural, unprocessed food, obesity and disease rates are going to continue to keep us sick and addicted. Kudos to Warren G. for staying on top of his health, being honest with his Doctor, and most importantly REGULATING his diet/advice.😉💙👍🏾

@@JamesThomas-pv5en I swear, if you tell people you don't drink water, they'll say "Okay". But if you tell them you don't drink alcohol, their head spins.
This popped on my timeline. I never question the reason, maybe GOD wants me to provide wisdom/my experience. I had a non-alcoholic fatty liver which comes from junk food(sugar, fast food, etc.) I didn’t understand why my stomach was big since I’ve always had a small/slim frame body. After my diagnosis, I learned about drinking lemon water(putting lemon slices in room temperature water). It helped, tremendously, for a healthy liver and flat tummy. Also, to eliminate mucus from the body, I drink lime water(key lime slices in r-t water), every morning. Drinking alcoholic beverages or not drinking alcoholic beverages you can still have health issues but always seek medical help. Thanks.
People numb themselves with alcohol and drugs because of feeling miserable being their normal selves its a mind thing but once you get addicted you become dependent find another hobby🤷🏾♂️ before adult hood everybody was kids enjoying themselves normally accordingly thru outlets of other things to be involved with joyfully but as we age we get turn onto mentally impaired addictions dependency which train our mind thinking its substances we need to feel better within ourselves It's A Trick A Mind Thing SOBRIETY! 🙌🏾 GET TURN ON YA GET TURN OUT🤔

Addiction is tough. Hope this brother all the success in overcoming those obstacles. The war will last forever and the battles will be daily but the results will allow you to focus on the many victories during your journey.
Take care of yourselves Kings. ✊🏿
Kings?
How absolutely absurd
I was homeless, did drugs, went into prison, where I got to know God, He changed my life. Now I have a home, a Wife and a lovely daughter (Jessica), and a stream of income that gets me $44,000 Every month. Plus a new identity - a child of God. Hallelujah!!!
How did you do it? Do explain please 😯
My family have been into series of sufferings lately
All thanks to Maria Luisa Clare
After I raised up to 325k trading with her I bought a new House and a car here in the states 🇺🇸🇺🇸 also paid for my daughter's surgery . Glory to God.shalom.
Wow 😱 I know her too
Miss Maria Luisa Clare is a remarkable individual whom has brought immense positivity and inspiration into my life.
Absolutely! I've heard stories of people who started with little to no knowledge but made it out victoriously thanks to Maria Luisa Clare.
@@htownlegend1331that’s awesome. My health consciousness didn’t hit me until 40
That regulator kush😂😂😂
Quitting alcohol is extremely hard, especially if you have an addiction so much praise to the OG for staying on a healthy path!! After getting a certain age you have to slow down on it or your body will definitely show you in other ways that you need to quit.
Just remember everyone, the first week is the hardest. It gets soooo much easier as you go
I haven’t had a drink on on over 5 5 1/2 years. My life has changed for the better mentally and physically!!! ❤❤❤Best decision I ever made.
I needed to hear this.. thank you

Welcome to Islam brother
@ I don’t think so !
I had to give it up. 30 years of heavy drinking can take a serious toll on the vital organs. Thanks Warren G for talking about it.
Glad to see Black men and our rappers grow into old age and taking care of their health. Stay regulated!
Amen!
5 years clean and sober, I stopped smoking weed before I stopped drinking alcohol‼️.. My health is the most important thing that I have going on in life.. 3-4 days working out 1-2 hours, my next problem is I need to change my eating habits...
I call my vape pen the Regulator. Not all the time but when I need it? Regulators, mount up!
Thank you for sharing this Warren, this was really educational to me now I’ll be looking differently at my drinking habit much love to you stay blessed!
I’m around the same age as Warren G and give major props to him for this interview and honesty.
I'm around Warren age also I stop smoking and drinking in the early 90s after I had a very serious car accident, that was it for me.
He’ll yeah Warren!
More of us need health awareness.
@ reread what I wrote 😂
@@check2000 cool story bro, the best
I stopped drinking 15 years ago…and I just quit cigarettes 4 months ago. I wish I quit cigarettes a lot sooner but I was holding on
@ I’m sure it’s not easy, hope you stay on the right path 💪🏿
Most people are followers... That's why they started drinking poison and smoking cigs in the first place.

These conversations are so important especially from these generations of rappers who have been dying far too young.
I've been drinking since a teenager and thought I would never quite.
I went cold turkey it's been over a month. I feel great sleep better, more energy, losing weight and better mode.
I've decided a glass of champagne on very special occasions is the limit.

@ I think drinking every night is excessive. Maybe try cutting it down to just Friday and Saturday and keep reducing until you no longer want to drink.
Then
Keep going. Proud of you. God bless
@ god bless 😊
Yup, I'm 28 and I've been hospitalized three times because I struggle incredibly with alcohol. This last time I went essentially into shock and couldn't move because my body was shutting down due to poisoning my liver and no electrolytes in me. Got control very quickly this last trip and have been blessed greatly with what has come. I will be honest, I do drink when I go out still and with friends, but that needs to change all together in all honesty. Day by day and just so everyone knows my opinion, alcohol is the hardest drug to quit and the worst drug in existence
I try to only drink once or twice a week and not over do it. I’m 33 yrs old. All about balance.
That's the strategy for me. I've noticed if I don't drink for several weeks, and then I have a couple beers or scotch, I get so excited to have them and it's satisfying. If you drink them all the time it just becomes a drinking problem.

drinking is not the issue the problem is how much and how often you drink thats why everything has to be done in moderation and im living proof of that im a drinker with a clean bill of health all praises to the most high God!!
If you drink NEVER drink on empty stomach and always drink plenty of water before and after
Or never drink. If you gotta do it in specific ways don’t do it.

I know what he’s talking about with the pain in your back on the right side I used to drink and get that same sensation and that was a sign to me from God that He was telling me that I needed to give it up. I finally did 15 years ago After I stopped drinking, I had more energy. My head didn’t hurt in the morning and I still ended up on dialysis. We all have to pay for our actions but God is good and I’m still here and that’s all that matters. All praises go out to our Heavenly Father.🙏🏾
Getting off alcohol now due to high bp. I can cold turkey it but doctor said to wean off of it or else it could cause severe withdrawls. Having a glass of wine rn and thats it. Prayers to everybody on this journey and if you have any input pls let me know. We got this🙏🏾💯

That’s why I chose to never even start. You can’t miss what you’ve never had.

I just passed 2 years in September staying off alcohol. Best decision I made in a very long time. My head feels clear I feel energized and I haven’t been this sharp since I was a kid. Sometimes I get the cravings but now they pass just as quick as they come.
34 months sober. I stopped because I’ve been living with 1 kidney since being shot at 20. Kinda like Warren, I celebrated my birthday weekend and knew I was done after that. I remember that pain he’s talking about as well. No coffee either. The acidity and caffeine is no good for the kidney or liver. I don’t crave liquor at all. I loved IPA’s and tequila. I’ll be 52 in December and i still have 2 children that aren’t grown. I raise them so I gots to be here.
I’m 33 at the moment and have been drinking since i was 16. I really pray that I do finally kick this habit , it really holds me back from reaching my full potential
Im 37. I started drinking alcohol later than most, at 25. Yes, I had some good times but thankfully I learned I really don't need it. Its too expensive, no health benefits whatsoever, its poisonous and I realize I can absolutely have fun sober.
Yeh we are programmed to drink from young from our parents, tv adverts, social media etc in Uk if you don’t drink your like an alien 👽 😂best buzz is go to a rave or festival sober 💪🏽

🙌🏾 GET TURN ON YA GET TURN OUT🤔
People should go visit ERs and nursing homes and rehabs to see the effects of that addiction. Many in the last two are them in a few years if they are lucky

Drinking in excess is bad long term but drinking beer in a controlled balanced manner can actually have some benefits for your health.

@ckack1372 Yea I see what u mean cause I like to have a beer usually while I'm in the process of cooking up a meal it could be a 24 oz or a 40 ounce but it's just something that I like to do while in the process of cooking up a nighttime meal and it doesn't really seem to go beyond that.
