Dressed to Kill Trailer - Directed by Brian De Palma and starring Michael Caine, Keith Gordon, Dennis Franz, David Margulies, Ken Baker. A high-class call girl is hunted by a female serial killer after witnessing one of her murders.
MGM - 1980
Brian DePalma is a visionary. All of his films are amazing. From horrifying us with Carrie and Dressed to Kill, to taking us on an action-packed thrill ride with Mission Impossible and Scarface, DePalma is a master of the macabre, the mind and the magic of movies.
Love it when there’s a non-Italian Giallo that gets all the beats right. Saw this on TV as a kid (in the 1980’s) and that was freaky. Great movie! I love my gialli.
DePalma doesn’t get enough love these days!
"invites you to a showing of the latest fashion... In murder" what a line! So fu... g great!!
I freaking love this movie.
Excellent choice.
It's also one of my favorites.
It’s actually pretty good
Although pretty cheesy though…..still good overall
@@ramencurry6672
Not cheesy at all!
Stop with your bullshit!
It’s not a proper thriller if someone doesn’t hop a turnstile
This movie and Body Double are two of his best works.
Blow Out is great also.
@@tomblinzig7307
DRESSED TO KILL, BLOW OUT and BODY DOUBLE are my personal De Palma top 3 anyway.
Dennis Franz ! Nobody does those roles better !!
Brian De Palma still one of my favorites. The ending of this film still sends chills up the spine. When Caine is in the asylum OMG. The lighting, music create such a surreal and creepy atmosphere. The only other directors that have done that are Dario Argento and David Lynch.
You have a really good taste in films Stephanie! I'd love to meet you!
@@Shteno Thank you very much :)
DRESSED TO KILL is wonderful and I rank it in my personal De Palma top 3 with BLOW OUT and BODY DOUBLE.
These are 3 serious candidates for the title of "number one thriller" all times combined and 3 of the best movies all genres/times combined in my opinion.
@@Jeckxdeel Carrie bests all of these.
@@paulvoorhies8821 CARRIE is great.
But DRESSED TO KILL, BLOW OUT and BODY DOUBLE are my personal De Palma top 3.
Great movie and great actor Sir Michael Caine
Believe before...typical NYPD detective.
@ourworlds atwar Well, that wasn't necessary, was it?
@ourworlds atwar Well, I've already seen the film, but you're right...
Well, it was a good movie :) I like the movies from Brian De Palma.
A fantastic and wonderful movie!!!!!
And then Brian really struck gold in '96 with Mission Impossible.
The very first time I saw this movie was during the mid 1980s on vhs video when I was a kid.
Haven't seen since 1997 on HBO.
I was blown away when I saw this in 1980. Dickinson deserved Oscar love.
would you say you were rather "blown out"? I hope you get the reference :p
The red letters bring nostalgia from the 80's and early 90's. I remember books, and TV shows having them. Lol.
*'80s and early '90s
this film has risk, conscious and unconscious desire along with antagonism up the wassu! Today's filmmakers should take note...
GREAT FLICK!!!!!!!!!! TODAYS FILM CREW WOULDNT DARE OH ITS TOO FLASHY AND JUST PLAIN DUMB----------- NO CREATIVITY ANYMORE OR DIALOG
JUST REMAKE AFTER REMAKE
IT DOES HAVE RISK--- NOT LIKE TODAY-S JUNK
Angie Dickerson at her best
I’m so sorry for what happened to Angie Dickinson in the elevator
The museum part is gripping and scary. Dapalma great at suspense
*De Palma's
Angie Dickinson deserves an Oscar nod
Brian Dr Palma so good at thrillers
Turns 40!
Another masterful work of art by Brian de Palma and truly one of his more chilling ones involving a transgender serial killer. Has hints of 'Psycho' and 'Peeping Tom'. Sure it might have issues of misogyny and transphobia but the arresting visuals with the overlaps and the amount of suspense make it a great watch.
He's a murderer but not really a serial killer.
He just kills one person and fails to kill Nancy Allen 2 times.
Angie Dickinson's character is the only one who gets killed!
@@tonytoni6860 It's true.
But DRESSED TO KILL is way far better than THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS in my opinion!
@@Jeckxdeel I concur
I was so disappointed with Silence of the Lambs
@@user-dr2yz8um3d THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS is not exceptional at all or even frankly good in my opinion!
One of the best campy thriller from master of macabre cinema!
Master of Massacre
*one of the best campy thrillers from the master of
Brian depalma film dressed to kill 🍿 is terrific
*De Palma's
Totally agree!
The scene where Elliot talks to Pete was probably the saddest part of this film.
Huge BDP,fan. My fav movie. Scared the crap out of me.
I love Caine!!oh sorry autocorrect i meant CO-caine
Hahahaha Problems in Philippines
Nancy Allen might just be the one
Gad Saad brought me here 😀
Awesome movie.
Nancy Allen is sooo good in this!
Angie Dickinson is very hot in this film.
Very classy.
Masterpiece!😘
I'm Gen❌
Saw this on HBO when I was ten or eleven, still traumatized
New Retro Wave brought me here.
Closest thing to Psycho only in ab elevator. Great score by Pino D. ...Brian Depalma directs a terrific thrill but not as good as the underrated great BLOWOUT.1980
*De Palma
@@January.Correction BLOWOUT was 1981. Travolta was great.
@@billlozier5551
Travolta was really great in BLOW OUT indeed.
We Palma knows how to suspense you

*De Palma knows how to keep you in suspense. He knows how to draw you in.
had a Carrie like ending
Totally ripped off Carrie’s ending.
@@paulvoorhies8821 it was actually directed by the man who directed carrie
@@eliyastomas4713 I know.
Michael Caine should have been nominated
He was... For a Razzie.
Sounds like rod sterling doing the narrating
Nobody ever sunglasses..in major art museums…LoL
Ahahaha 😂
Was it some kind of tradition to spoil the movie in trailers in the 80's?
Pretty much. I hate that.
This was not the trailer.
Aged like milk lmao
1:21 Please kindly refrain from ever saying that again.
Angie Dickinson. Looks so chic i
I am not a native English speaker, searching for the meaning of the phrase 'Dressed to kill'. Ended up seeing a movie trailer. WTF
The coloquolism 'dressed to kill' in English means dressed really nice/looking amazing.
Was the scene in which Elliott escaped from the asylum part of liz's dream?
Brilliant movie lmao 😊😊😊😊 people should check this out
I always think that Bobbi has a slight look of Theresa May.
Brian De Palma inspired by Dario Argento.
And Alfred Hitchcock too!
More Hitchcock. I mean, the whole story is like a rip-off of Psycho!
@@carlosmejido3244 It's "Psycho" but with the style and violence of a giallo.
I've heard De Palma say he had not seen any Argento when he made this one.
360p is NOT HD in any stretch of anyone's emigration. Hardly even telephone quality.
WOW. LMAO. Try selling this in 2020. LOL.
Lmao right!? Especially with the whole controversy of JK Rowling's newly released book this year in 2020 🤣
Eerie how Angie was dressed all in white so when she is stabbed the blood makes it all the more horrifying. Something Hitchcock would have done - he always made sure the women in his movies were beautifully dressed when bad things happened to them.
Except of course Janet Leigh who was in the shower when she was murdered.
Did he just say Nanzy Allen...? 🤔
Tarantino’s podcast brought me here.
Смотрел когдато на VHS.
ich habe den Film nur noch ein 2 tes mal seh'n wollen wegen Nancy Allen 🤗

Why late 70's/80's movies....
seem extra CREEPY!!!!!💀💀💀
Looking forward to watching and critiquing the movie
contrary to the popular opinion I didn’t like it, it was way too predictable
Maybe today.
But it was not too predictable in his time!
It was more about style than substance.
@@JackOwens Exactly!
@@Jeckxdeel I got that from Roger Eberts review back in the day.
@@Jeckxdeel Don't insult the intelligence of people from the 80's. It was overly dramatic, predictable schlock back then too...
te amo nancy allen
Brian De Palma is deranged. That is my only opinion of him.
that is correct
Maybe. But he's a great director.
DRESSED TO KILL is one of my favorite movies and I rank it in my personal De Palma top 3 with BLOW OUT and BODY DOUBLE.

nice the woman was killed, NOT
Américan giallo
De Palma simply wishes he was Hitchcock. This hasn't aged well.
You think what you want but I don't agree at all.
The Criterion Collection disagrees with you.
Weird.
Good plot. Poorly done. Someone should make a remake
Totally disagree about your opinion on the way it's done and a remake!

This movie is a bit clumsy and it lacks heart BUT it does a great job problematizing the immorality of certain aspects of today's society (psychology BS, the wrongness of infidelity, the insanity of transsexualism).
I think you really missed the point of the themes of the film.
This is probably the most relevant comment on here.
