One of the best songs that evokes that kind of happy/sad nostalgia….and a yearning for times past. As you get older, it gains ever more emotional power.
This song brings back memories for me. In particular when this came out, I was 18 and living in Nebraska and at the time the drinking age was 19, so buddy and I hooked up with a couple of chicks and drove down to Kansas (In a Chevy van) where the drinking age was 18. On the way there we were playing this album. This song so worked perfectly.😎🎸👌
Bro's, his "Hollywood Nights", "Katmandu" and "Old Time Rock and Roll" are next for you!! Great singer, man were we spoiled in the 70s with amazing music!
This is my favorite song of his, I was lucky as a preteen that my siblings were 10 and 12 years older than me and married, they influenced my music and took me to concerts. I was at "Live Bullet" at 11 years old and this came out a few months later.
Seger wrote this song about his high school years in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The song explores the promise of youth, and what Seger calls his "awakening" after being a quiet, awkward kid for most of his youth. The actual street Seger sings about in this song is Ann Street, which was off of Main Street in Ann Arbor. What I love about his songs is that they all have a story to tell. Captivating.Brilliant!!!
This song. Is about learning those “night moves”. First time intimate relationships. Being young and finding your way around a man/woman’s body. Connecting and perfecting those dots. Precious memories. Melancholy for sure.
Bob Seger is a music legend. It is so remarkable how he finishes this song. When you think it's over he continues which is a treat. Another favorite of mine from Bob Seger is AGANIST THE WIND oh I forgot RAMBLIN' GAMBLIN' MAN.
Have to remember this song was way before Turn The page. He sings all kinds of music he's a chameleon. I was growing up with him on the radio my teenage years. Now that I'm older (55) the line "with autumn closing in" has much more meaning. He's still making music just put out new album.
Actually Turn The Page was recorded in 1972 and this was recorded in 1976. Possibly the live version of TTP, which was the big hit, came after Night Moves, maybe that's you're thinking. Whatever, they're both classics so it's all good!
@@RicoBurghFan Correct, I was wondering what she/he (Lindsay can be both) was talking about. Actually the most famous version comes from the Live 1975 Detroit Concert. I watched That Darn Cat (Disney) movie and listened to that concert live from Detroit on the radio that night, LOL So, I heard that version live on the radio.
He is an amazing singer-songwriter! So many great songs. From the Live Bullet Album “Travelin’ Man/Beautiful Loser is one of my favorites. Fire down below, Hollywood Nights, so many more….
Hollywood Nights for a rocker, Shame On The Moon for a ballad. The first time I saw them do this, just as the song "ends" in the middle all the stage lights went out and two spotlights hit a huge mirror ball above the audience. Suddenly everyone is drifting in a sea of stars and then Bob picks back up with "I woke last night to the sound of thunder.... - an in-f'ing-credible moment.
Cool reaction! "Night Moves" is such a classic - so full of emotion. Bob Seger is a great storyteller. Agree completely that the background vocals are perfectly balanced. Definitely a car song, with the windows down! I appreciate you guys - thank you!
Nothing better than being a teen, having night moves in the trusty woods. I remember, Lord I remember. Fantastic song!! Bob Seger was Glen Frey’s Detroit MENTOR! Glen sung background in Ramblin Man! 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Bob's vocals and piano are mesmerizing in this classic. I still love it 45 years later. First teen love/sex is a timeless theme in various art forms. This was a huge hit when I was a young teen when this song came out in December 1976; it was recorded in my home city of Toronto. It is his best and most popular tune though Turn the Page is a very personal tune and a close second. Hollywood Nights is another great one by him.
All time classic from an all-time legend. I just turned 50 and about to hit 51 and the song hits different as you get older it's not just about the actual changing of the seasons it's about getting older. I love it how Bob takes us to church at the end of this song :-)
"Night Moves" is definitely on my list of 'songs worthy of rolling down your car windows and cranking up the volume" for. "Hollywood Nights" is on that list too. They never get old
Check out - "Against The Wind", "Hollywood Nights", and from "LIVE BULLET" - “Travelin’ Man/Beautiful Loser". Oh, and "Fire Lake" and "Blame It On The Moon".
Very cool Bob Seger song. Clearly about youth and learning through all of our life experiences. I get the chills too Patrick when he slows it down. Makes me feel very nostalgic for those long ago summer days...🍂
This one was my dad's favorite. his name was Bob too. always played it. Haha and I was named after. Bob. ✌️😎 Thanks for the groove. He was here today he would have been jammin with us. 🤘🎸
You guys are Really good at breaking down songs!! So maybe the best rock and roll song ever written and perfectly executed is Rock and Roll Never Forgets!! The song is about the love of music and is on Point!!
Thanks, Bros - this is my FAVORITE by Bob -- I love the quiet sequence... "woke last night to the sound of thunder... funny how the night moves.... with autumn closin' in..." - it's what I would call "evocative" - you can feel and remember those long-ago days - I appreciate your reaction! (P.S. Turn the Page may be my "second")
Great reaction guys. As everyone has pointed out Night Moves is a double entendre'. Both for shagging when you're young...then the passage of time as you're older. Bob is in both the R&R HOF and the Songwriters HOF. He's that guy
Dudes, I'm with you on the depth of feeling and message of this song. Is it his greatest? It comes a very close second to "Against the Wind" for me. Very similar feeling. I also LOVE "Like a Rock"!
This is definitely one of his greats, lots of those out there who can relate to this song , for sure. You really need to dive deeper into his music, so many more hits out there to explore. If you'd like, here's a few, "Beautiful Loser", "Old Time Rock And Roll", "Hollywood Nights", "Brave Strangers","Till It Shines", "Roll Me Away","Rock And Roll Never Forgets", and "Main Street" and still more of course. Yeah, it was great hearing this again, this song is one you can just listen to again and again, thanks for doing this video guys!
Hey guy's, Bob Segar & the Silver Bullet Band was one of the main bands I would listen to, back in the day. And still do... here's another one "Turn The Page. Live. Bob Segar and Jason Aldean FULL HD" Thanks guys...Great Reaction 🔥💕
Bravo to you guys. You're the only reaction video to this song who makes a point of the background choral voices - which I feel moves this song from an A to an A++.
I remember when this song came out. I was too young (12) to really understand what it was about, but I loved the song so I used my allowance to buy the album. Obviously, my mother didn't pay attention to the lyrics when I would play this song.😁
Hey Bros. I have to agree...this is Bob Seger's best song. It tops out against Mainstreet, which is another good song. Great Reaction! Love watching you guys enjoy music I grew up with. Ken
This song changes from being about being young to being about getting old. It's a brilliant transition lyrically.
Autumn closing in…
@@conureron3792 and winter is coming...but is how it is

Great song. He was great in concert.

Those are all great and classic.
There are sooooo many choices.
Hollywood Nights next, for sure! Also Mainstreet!
What about Betty Lou?
And "Main Street"!!!!!!
Agreed, best song ever, the passion, memories, feelings in general, so powerful‼️

Guys us, now in our 40s, connected to our distant fathers through songs like this. Road trips and music. Perfect memories.
This song. Is about learning those “night moves”. First time intimate relationships. Being young and finding your way around a man/woman’s body. Connecting and perfecting those dots. Precious memories. Melancholy for sure.

"I woke last night to the sound of thunder / How far off? i sat and wondered."
Just thinking of that line makes me emotional.
Love Like a Rock also again a retrospective look at his life
Bob Seger is America's soundtrack of all time ❤️
Against the Wind is another one so relevant to us older people who grew up listening to these albums ... always gets me 🤔😌
My favorite all time Seger song
♫ Hollywood Nights ♫
Thinking back to 1972...my own memories..my own night moves lol! Love Bob!
Against the wind

Every time I hear this song.. I fall in love with it all over again.
The rabbit hole goes deep with Bob Seger. So much great music! Thanks for this classic!
I agree guys, to me Night Moves is his best song, among so many great songs. I remember being young, workin’ on mine while listening to this.
This song is 10/10. Even so, my favorites are “Roll Me Away” and “Still The Same”. “Main Street” is close behind. Try any of them please!
Roll Me Away, Hollywood Nights, Horizontal Bop, Betty Lou, Feel Like a Number and about 50 more great songs……
"Hollywood Nights" is a great story song, with high tempo.
His ability to sing emotionally is what makes him sound different. Please listen to his"Fire Lake" , "Roll Me Away" or my theme song "Her Strut"
One of my favorite songs. Period.

One of my favorite songs & artist of all time. Bob Seger has "that" voice that just hits me emotionally every time.
Try Like a Rock, Ramblin Man, Brave Strangers , but I agree this is my favorite song. Takes all of us back to our youths and young lust.
Wait til you get to ‘Like a Rock’. 🔥🔥🔥
That’s the one I love most - timeless.
That one does it for me too ♥️
Sun Spot Baby is a great one
