- Hi! Season two of the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That is currently being filmed, so I thought sharing my silly, unhinged ideas for possible storylines would be fun. Of course, I know that this show needs way more than giving Miranda a fashion makeover to become watchable and less cringey. It could stop depicting being 50 as a bleak and sexless existence, for example. Nonetheless, I am sharing my And Just Like That season 2 predictions and storyline suggestions in this video.

I felt it was trying to check too many boxes. It doesn't feel right without Samantha or Big. I will keep watching seasons 1-6 and only the first movie.

@@KasiaSopniewska the problem is its not funny and the friendships don't make any sense. You believed that they were friends and even the side characters were likeable.
unpopular opnion maybe but I hated Big and was relieved they killed him off. but then the whole rest of the show was bad and cringe so not sure it helped :D

I started off hating the character but she has a big heart & actually cares for Miranda.....that's a plus

Dear Santa:
I would like the following story arcs:
Charlotte: explore her identity outside of wife, mother, and supportive friend. I would like see her step away from being an observer and taking on an active role in the arts by trying her hand at painting, sculpting, dance, etc. I would hope her exploration would lead her to Europe where she meets up with Samantha or maybe her meeting one of Samatha’s successful clients who is an artist. Perhaps the artist hired Samantha during the pandemic. This would cast doubt on whether the issue between Carrie and Samantha was deeper than money as Carrie proclaims.
In addition, it would be interesting if she met up with her brother from season 1. The two could discuss their upbringing and childhood trauma which would shed some light as to why Charlotte never sets boundaries with her children and is too eager to support their unconventional behavior. I am not saying this a disbarment against the LGBTQ or Asian community but Charlotte has always been a very conservative person. It would be more on trend with her character if she did address how difficult it has been to adjust to her daughter transition to Rock. I’m sure there is a way to do this in a way that is realistic and inoffensive.
Miranda: now going through a divorce from Steve, amending her relationship with her son, and still struggling to recover from her midlife crisis, Miranda finds herself juggling work, school, and her addiction. She should have a valid breakdown about her marriage and go through the actual process of overcoming addiction. It would be nice if Skipper could also be apart of her recovery group. I envision Miranda shares the dismantling of her marriage in group and at the end Skipper chews her out about how she always screws over the good guy just like she did him in season 1. This would be satisfying on so many levels.
I would also like for Miranda at some point to chew out Carrie for not being a supportive friend. Based on how disinterested Carrie was when Charlotte expressed sincere concern about Miranda’s alcoholism and how self involved she is, it would be on brand for Carrie to be too caught up in her own struggles to help her friends. The two would eventually makeup after sometime.
Carrie: I want Carrie’s book that she wrote after Big’s death to flop and her podcast to suffer because it is shallow and inauthentic. I would like the producer to challenge her to be deeper and explore the different types of grief: death of a spouse, death of a friendship, and the death of her old self. Although Carrie has aged, she has not actually matured. She is still insecure, selfish, doesn’t respect boundaries, and is not always a reliable friend. It would be nice to see her explore and reflect on her life and experiences from the SATC era and to see how those behaviors reflected in her “blissful 15year marriage.” She will likely find that she did not know her husband as well as she thought and may be compelled to dig deeper into who Big was.
Each episode should be based on a different stage of grief and also be the title of each chapter or podcast episode.
As she grows to be more introspective and honest with herself, she able to fall in love with the producer or different love interest. A love where she doesn’t feel insecure but valued for who she really is.
In the last episode, she should call Samantha.

No but it’s like they completely forgot who these characters were. Your ideas would bridge the gap and bring them back to the characters we know and love
I like a lot of your ideas but I’ll share that I think there is so much value with being an art historian. Even if you are not artistic, it allows you to dive and love the world of art and it’s an incredible field all on its own. It would be cool to see Charlotte decide to do something else outside of her role as a mom/wife; maybe teaching some art history class somewhere could be a fulfilling role for her although she would probably have to go back to school.
@@KasiaSopniewska I would love to see these storylines and your suggestions in the video too. Although I strongly feel that only one believable respectable comment regarding Samantha is necessary. I adore my friends and we live far apart, most have husbands, kids and work occupying their time. We still only have 24 hours in the day and an excessive demand for a double life both online and offline. I agree with you, that this obsession to justify why Samantha is no longer in the story is ridiculous. People start a new chapter in another place and as much as we would love to be texting our friends and on video calls constantly, the same limited 24 hours makes that almost impossible to do. Great friendships pick up like no time has passed regardless of the months or years between cocktails or conversations. No further info needed, she moved to London and is extremely busy due to her incredible success of course. It's that simple, end of.
Fabulous suggestions, I wish the writers were this earnest about the characters growth. The writing tends to disappoint and misses points entirely, favoring vague endings and sheltering the characters from true self reflection

I want Steve to get a partner on his level. I hate that miranda leaves for LA and we don't really know how Steve is dealing with it.
I don’t know why we don’t have more SATC characters infiltrating the new series… And using said characters for more in-depth storylines… Where is Amelita? We had a glimpse of Sharon at the funeral, but she could’ve added the much-needed comedy relief now that Kim has gone.
It also would be my ultimate dream for Carrie to end up with Aidan again even though he kinda deserves better than Carrie tbh.

From a stylists pov, My fav Miranda look is the black and silver dress she wore in the movie where Anthony and Stan get married. First time I saw her in it, I gasped. She gave me power,sex and yet control vibes. Perfect for her personality yet slightly more dramatic than she can handle. It made sense against her take charge personality in the film. I think most times I've liked her style, is when in black or black and white. For someone so pale skinned it's always such a stylists no-no. But that contrast speaks great volumes on her and I wish they would have leaned more into this style wise, as it suited what she is about now. The current outfits have blended into not being able to understand her taste. I look at these clips and photos people post and think I have no idea what this woman is about? She can be many things and yet nothing at all.
Or maybe Miranda's wardrobe is intentionally so chaotic and mismatched because she has completely lost herself?
@@KasiaSopniewska I wondered the same thing for a hot minute. Is this just a woman 'playing wife and fashionista ' because she lost her identity? Is she dressing all over the place as a metaphor for the lack of life she feels she has and just fits in as 'fashionable'? Even if that's the case, it is soooo far from the woman in the black dress, I need the back story of how we got from that..to this? Because right now it feels like a reverse before and after picture I am struggling with. Keep in mind you don't need a black dress to be sexy at all. I love trousers and think wide casual silouttes are super stylish. I just know, if she was a client and they put both of her pics from the film to the series, side by side on my desk I would earnestly ask....what happened to this poor woman? Because it definitely isn't that she aged??? What Miranda wears in season 2 will be interesting now that the writers believe she has found herself. I suppose we will see in the styling.

I’m a diehard Sex and the city fan but I could only get through three episodes of And just like that. It was awful and without Big and Samantha to save it, i gave up. If the next season is better I'll watch it.

I'll think about it! I'm considering making a video about the sheer amount of content there is about this show: the documentary about the creation of season 1, the podcast where the writers break down each episode, the costume department has their own Instagram account, etc. it's kinda crazy, but I don't know if that would be interesting for anyone but me 😂

They all need makeovers. I hate the costuming for and just like that. It’s just high end and designer. Like its not what the characters wore. Like where are chars clean lines - where is carries vintage and thrifted goods, especially now that second hand shopping is so praised

I think a season two of and just like that would be best to put the girls in a new environment to really explore the women's dynamics between themselves and each other and introduce some more adventure into the show. I'm thinking something like this - all of the women are despondent. Miranda has been officially dumped and ghosted by Che right before she was meant to leave , Lily and Rock have decided to do a year abroad in Austria and Australia respectively , and Carrie's podcast was dropped by the network. Each women is really in a bad slump and are questioning if their lives are truly over. That is until Carrie gets asked to move to Los Angeles to be a consultant on a TV show based on her book , which has gotten a 2nd life on Booktok. She decides to take it and Miranda and Charlotte decide to take a 6 month sabbatical to support their friend and see what else is out their for them beyond the concrete jungle. They rent an air bnb together and take on everything from dating to fandom and explore what it is to be 55 and fabulous.
Now, that would be a show I would watch 👏👏👏
