Literally NO ONE who watched the show thought Miranda was Suzy-homemaker, what is he talking about? And to say she married against her will when SHE PROPOSED is re-writing her history to justify the missteps AJLT took. This interviewer needed to push back a bit more.
He °kinda forgot° that Miranda was actually in love with Steve when they shared that moment in the closet at Brady's birthday, when she proposed to Steve and then married him in a non cheesy, Miranda way.
I am so offended by him desperately trying to convince us that what they created was genius when in fact it was absolute garbage.
literally 100% of the audience: "I hate Che"
I’m confused there was next to no storyline in the first season …
I personally did not like this show, the essence of the show fell flat for me. It felt the characters were trying so hard to stay relevant with the current time but instead they stuck out awkwardly even more and weren't evolving as characters but being dumbed down to fit a picture. Most notably for Miranda's character who has been well known for her bold confident outspoken nature to now become this awkward lost individual trying to understand what's going on around her....almost felt like she took 2 steps back in developing as a character or morphing into a whole different character making her less authentic
Actually most of the comments I have seen was that people did not like Che...but he believes what he wants...
Carrie taking Miranda's arm at her mother's funeral is one of my fav scenes too.
Michael King's presentation is offensive. He's so self-satisfied in a totally undeserved way. The audience felt let down and saddened by Season One, and he comes across so smug and oblivious, teasing the next season like everyone was satisfied with the first.
It was ultimately Tonedeaf! So many plot holes, handling absence’s badly with little to no imagination. Stanford, Samantha, etc. It tried to be too many things and spread itself to thinly. All the characters lacked depth. The main characters being taken unrealistically to far left that they felt unrecognisable.
So detached from his audience when commenting all the backlash from the first season! We weren´t shocked by Che, we just didn´t like them.
Oh geez! People hated Che. Get rid of her
Miranda got married against her will? Does this guy have early onset?
MPK is too greedy and narcissistic. The reason why the original show stands on its own still today wasn't because of his writing or "genius", was because he had an amazing team of writers who incorporated allot of their own thoughts and life experiences onto these characters, which was why it was so organic and real. By the time they made the first movie he got rid of all that amazing writing team so he'd have more control, and obviously it was lackluster. It's been a train wreck ever since. I don't think this new show was an absolute disaster but it could've been SO much better had he gotten that original writing team back or at least people who would confront him because they failed miserably this time. Also getting rid of Patricia field who was the genius behind the wardrobe of the original show, getting rid of Samantha who was the comedic relief of the show, and putting Miranda who was the most relatable and mature character of the 4, acting like a deranged immature crazy woman...I mean what the heck. And all the new characters Jesus, felt so forced or horrible (Che). The reason why people are still interested in these characters is because of the magic of the original show, not because of any of these new properties MPK "created". Sometimes, it's best to leave things in a good note. Friends for instance is a good example of that.
PLEASE GET RID OF SARA RAMIREZ'S CHARACTER
His first draft of the Sex & The City movie is used to interrogate prisoners of war. It's over 700 pages!
I read lots of the negative feedback and watched with hesitation. But you know what? I loved it. I'm in my fifties and I (often) related to the characters emotionally. OF COURSE, they're not going to be the exact same as they were in their 30's and 40's. If you're doing life right, you don't stay the same forever. You evolve and grow and deepen. Some of your friendships fray and fall away. Some of what you thought was forever turns a sharp corner due to circumstances beyond your control or the realization that you have more yesterdays than tomorrows.
He took a classic show we all loved then made it obnoxious and woke and ruined it
Watching this season reminded me of how much SatC meant to me back in the day. I was a teenage boy learning about romance, sex and neurotic behaviour through these characters. [Spoiler warning] At the end of the first episode, with the line "And just like that, Big died" I was just heeartbroken and that feeling of pain and sadness has stayed with me throughout the season. I think it was a smart move dramatically, as it gives Carrie something real and truly new to deal with, after her romantic arc was fully explored and finished in the 6 seasons of SATC, but still, I still feel truly sad about it. I guess that's the mark of a good show, that you love the characters as if they were real.
I’m looking forward to the second season. It’s so sad that SJP and Kim Cattrall couldn’t mend the riff between them. Carrie and Samantha were magic onscreen.
