Have them operate a tiny business for profit for a few months, like a capitalist/free market proponent would. Then explain to them how it would work under communism/socialism. Or demonstrate it. Then ask them to choose. Once they choose (they always choose free market) though, tell them "then don't you dare try to force what you don't want to experience on others, because some authority told you you would be 'super cool' if you forced it on others."
That's really the only thing you can do. You are up against the entire public education system, 90% of them are avowed socialists and want your children to be that too, and don't believe you have a right to raise your own child.

I'm old enough to remember when conservatives were tough on crime, and liberals were soft on crime, but we all agreed that crime is bad, and we want to reduce it as much as possible. We just had different ways of viewing the best way to go about that. Watching the left go full blown pro crime and pro criminal has been pretty unreal.

That's their logic. They act like its justified to steal from others because someone is poor, but make no mention of the the result to the person being stolen from.
Most people don't have full coverage on their cars, assuming they even have insurance. They don't have the money to just buy another vehicle. "People are struggling to afford cars" and then their car is stolen.... No transportation means they can't even work.
Not at all. So many damn food banks, its not even funny. Hell, I grew up poor snd remember waiting in line with my mom to get free bread and canned food directly from a grocery store in the parking lot. Of course it was all near expired/damaged/overstock.
Don’t know if they still do that specifically but I know many stores donate tons of food to banks.

It’s pretty hard to starve in this country. Which is why last I checked most of the hungry are actually children unfortunately, usually neglected and too young to survive on their own. I think the elderly are the other group that struggles.

@@user-dx1jb4zq9e Yup. It's always interesting just how far back a lot of these terms and ideas go. We also have the concept of Minimum wage hailing back a couple decades before that too. It was dreamt up by eugenicist and economist, Albert Benedict Wolfe. He wanted a method to softly exterminate poors, blacks and mentally handicapped by making it less possible for them to earn enough to live or create families until negative growth among target demographics was reached. And it was frankly working as intended after being sold to Americans as "Returning dignity to the worker," until the "Great Society" program that introduced the welfare system prevented the soft genocide factor. After that, the two policies combined just created the state enforced poverty we live with today, compounded further by the Fed's policy of rampant spending and money printing, devaluing our currency with out of control inflation. Wages never stagnated, inflation just outgrew them, and that is a government-generated problem resulting from extreme incompetency in economic and spending policy which cannot be solved by using more government. They're trying right now to spend their way out of the severe economic downturn caused by the lockdowns, and we can see constantly what the inflation from that is doing to all our prices on everything. It is absurd and unacceptable. FDR tried the same thing during the Great Depression with the New Deal, and what did it do? It Made the Depression last even longer. 6 years longer, by low end estimates, than it would have lasted if he had just done nothing at all like Calvin Coolidge had during a previous severe economic downturn that was short lived and rebounded perfectly fine with no interference or any attempts to "fix it."
Anyways, that's enough absolute rambling about government ineptitude and economic history.

My ex wife. She lives in a protected community near Silver Springs Maryland. She has private security plus regular police patrols. She works at a university that has it's own security plus sheriffs on site. She travels from secure bunker to secure bunker everyday and refuses to see anything wrong.

I also think that violent crime is higher than the 90s, but now we don't prosecute a ton of cases because that is a terrible oppressive thing now, so the numbers are going to look like things are so much better than they are.
Also factor in hopelessness. Whilst living within the inner city my car has been broken into 6 times. The first time, I called police, filed a report, and nothing was ever done. I didn’t bother filing 5 other reports because it would just waste time. Glad to have left the city.

Carjacking a vehicle, then driving it to the grocery store and just acting like it's your car now would be the most Florida Man thing ever.
During the height of the pandemic, I was driving a 2011 Chevy Equinox with over 150K miles on it and my repair nightmares were only just beginning. My family has been in and around the automotive industry for over 40 years so I called my brother for advice regarding ads telling us how easy it would be to sell my ride and buy a used (or new) vehicle. He told me that there were no auctions of salvaged or repossessed vehicles being held so the supply of used vehicles available to dealers was basically non-existent so selling my lemon was easy but replacing it was quite another story. Stealing a car wasn't on my radar, but that's just me, I guess.
Anyone goofy enough to say what she said in 2024 should have their voting rights taken away! Absolutely stupid!

And it truly irked me that Jessica tried to obscure the realities of crime in DC by focusing on the nation at large. The Hill is literally based in DC! What a deluded ideologue. NYC has the best transit system, DC does not. Chicago’s is decent. But other big cities can not match that.

Over a decade ago, someone broke into my garage and stole thkusands of dollars worth of tools in a fime in my life where we definitely couldn't afford to replsce them. When i told my coworkers about it, fhis liberal girl spoke up to say "they needed that stuff more than i do" and she had no sympathy for the fact that 3 large men broke into my house while my wife snd 2 young kids were sleeping mere feet from where these thieves were. It truly baffled me that someone would have that kind of ridiculous view.
As soon as someone tries to justify any crime I immediately remove myself from the idiotic conversation
I'll never forget the case of the two girls robbing that driver. It .002 seconds after the crash they were asking about their phones and all the black national guard guys went to help them and no one helped the guy dying on the sidewalk.
The worst part about that story is that he was an immigrant and they constantly talk about how we should protect them.

A lefty UA-camr did a video basically saying, "Steal because Capitalism is bad!" As a person who actually grew up poor and works in a grocery store, I went in to the comments and explained how shoplifting hurts those that depend on these stores and that a lot of these shoplifters are driving nice cars so they aren't as poor as they think. I got quite a few replies from, "Your mother should be ashamed of herself for not stealing!" to "They actually donate most of what they steal." to "Do you think that they didn't steal a car first?!" I didn't get a lot of replies before it went silent and I realized that I was blocked. (Apparently LeftTube doesn't like dissenting opinions. At least 3 channels have made it so nobody can see my comments even though I wasn't rude to anyone!)
All of the replies were completely ignorant, but the one that said that poor people would commit a felony to keep from getting caught for a misdemeanor was probably the stupidest thing I'd ever heard! Besides, when we follow them out of the store and start filming their car, they end up giving everything back. If the car was stolen, wouldn't they ignore us and leave anyway? Do they really think that low of minorities and the poor?Also, that donation comment cracked me up! This stuff is being sold for 100% profit.

I also work in a grocery store while I go to school, but in NE Pennsylvania, where it's very white. We don't seem to have a shoplifting problem here.
@@ribbrascal I work at one in a suburb, with a mostly white customer base, and the shoplifting is terrible! I'm not typing a few candy bars either! They've walked straight back to the meat department and got a few hundred dollars of meat (steaks and briskets) and seafood (crab legs and lobster tails) and will actually try to just run out the front door with the basket with managers chasing after them! More than once, middle-aged white women have attempted to steal hundreds in seafood. One of them had store bags in her purse and stopped halfway down the aisle and started putting the packages in the bags so it would seem like she already paid!
The theft is out of control and it's mostly middle-aged, middle-class white people doing it! They're all dressed nice, and like I typed, have very nice cars. They ain't poor people and they're stealing so much that this isn't all for them. It's obvious that it's being sold.
And now I can explain to you why 40 years of wage stagnation leads to people saying things like "steal because capitalism is bad" as well as "defund the police," and that of course is how you get rising crime. Work either pays or people will no longer value it, and when they discard that value, all the others will go with it as well. That's what happened in this country since 1980. That's how we got here.

These aren't people struggling to feed themselves. There are easier ways to steal than running out with a full basket. Their goal is to take as much as they can. That's not a trait of the poor. I don't think I've ever seen one thief in my life actually stealing food. The only thing I've ever seen even remotely close to it was a woman stealing diapers with her child and her arms because she was living on the streets and genuinely didn't need them for her kid who she was having to try and raise while on the streets
The only Thieves i know that steal food are children and most of the time it is because of an lost bet or showing off how daring and cool they are...atleast it was like during my time in elementary school.

Former homeless coming in. For a couple years I was on the streets and when I couldn't find enough cans to turn in for deposit (10¢ each) I would steal food from big stores. Just enough to get through the day because anything else would go bad. Never took good stuff, usually just some produce or a small thing of lunch meat. I was a thief, but I still had my honor. Having said that, I'm sure the store employees low key knew and were just letting me get a free meal.
@@spicytrashpanda I have seen people stealing food when I worked at a grocery store in my teens. There was a homeless man who frequented the store about once a week, and would often only take 1 or 2 apples or bananas. While I stopped shoplifters before, I couldn't bring myself to stop that man. Nowadays if I saw this as an adult, I would just purchase them for him. But people stealing a 24 pack of beer or an entire cart full of junk food and alcohol have no such sympathy. There is a difference between stealing what you need and stealing what you want, and while I feel like theft of any type is abhorrent, most people can excuse doing what you have to do to survive.
I would buy people food as well. I don't like them getting a rep sheet for petty theft when it's food. I also direct them to a food bank. people really need to know that walking to a food bank can be embarassing but doing time for stealing a banana is even more embarrassing.
I feel for ppl who still have to live like this. I had enough and moved so far into the mountains of Colorado that you almost never see any black ppl. And the ones that you do actually know how to be a funtioning member in society. I dont have to hate a group of people to still decide I don't want to live around them anymore. People don't lock their doors, you can go into a store and leave your vehicle running, the kids in the neighborhood actually run around and play outside together until it gets dark and you don't have to worry about them. I didn't think places like this still existed in our country. I order packages on Amazon almost daily and I don't get home from work until very late... I have never once had a package get stolen. In fact when I had a package get delivered to the wrong house that homeowner actually brought it to me.

Obviously, she has never been carjacked. a friend of mine, had somebody car jack her car in Dallas near the VA about a decade ago. The carjacker was strung up on drugs and use her car to go buy more drugs. My friend Angela laid into the druggie several times, but that person’s drug addled brain couldn’t process pain. So her car was stolen.

Unfortunately for most of these people with takes like this, it tends to take an actual experience to convince them otherwise. Whether that’s being the victim or knowing a close family member/friend that experienced it. Very rarely do these types stick with the same narratives or ideas after it happens to them
None of them live anywhere near the epicenter of these crimes. They look out their windows to the neighborhood and think that's how the rest of the world is

Her own home was broken into when she lived in Baltimore. She has since moved but she still defends why they broke in. Had she or her husband been home, it could have been really bad, but she is one of those people who think people steal out of dire necessity…I doubt anything will change her mind
