This is my dream bike,it really is, not for touring, just pure riding. Oh man!

Always very easy listening, calm and precise vlogs, leaves me wanting to go buy new bikes. You could do this stuff for a living Shawn, much better than many so called professional reviewers who scream in high pitched excitable tones in an effort to communicate enthusiasm. Your employers are maybe missing a trick, they should be making full use of your efforts and on an official basis - it would sell even more bikes. I know you offer links and are providing plugs for them, but a fully sponsored and dedicated "works" channel, is long overdue.
Yeah it's the sincere passion for all things bikes that comes through...enjoy the rides around your area with all the historical stuff thrown in...it reminds me of sitting around the table listening to my dad and his friends telling their hunting stories and tales of the Snoqualmie valley ...wiling away the cold winter hours...

I saw one of these in Melbourne two weeks ago - they look better "in the flesh" and the microphone does not do justice to the exhaust note. I would not have considered one of these until i saw and heard it.

Thanx for the ride. I like that you compare it to the Sporter. The engine sound is so nice and I really like that there is now modes or things like that. I missed the gear indicator in the beginning but not now.

Shawn would you say the suspension is harder than the Scramblers? At my local dealer they only had the Scrambler and I found it very squishy. Which would be perfect for our crappy roads. I like the Racer the best out of all of them but I'm not sure my body would like the seating position. With the foot pegs up higher and the cafe bars. Getting old sucks.

Would love your thoughts on the ninet vs. FZ09. I recently rode both and love both. I like the nineT slightly better than the FZ but at almost twice the price I don't think I could pull the trigger on the nineT. I also don't like the bicycle style spokes on a motorcycle mostly due to maintenance and reliability.

I've got one of these as a courtesy bike, whilst my R1200R is in the workshop. I don't like it at all! The suspension is rock hard, as is the seat. The instrumentation is basic to say the least, and the performance doesn't seem as good as my R despite them both having the same engine. I'll be glad to get my bike back on Saturday!

Gail Engle almost.... It's a little bigger at least it feels so. a bit roomier för driver and passenger and mostley down to that you are sitting higher. I had a sporter 48 before my BMW Scrambler. the engine is 1170 but with more hp and roughly the same tourque.

What is it about the bike that delivers the feel you are describing? Im building a cafe racer this winter with the older r80 model (also boxer) and although im really new to bikes i imagine i could intergrate some newer parts that could deliver this same feel

Do they feel small? Because when I saw one it looked like it would be to small for me
badbruise I am 6 feet and I and don't think it's small. the pegs can feel as they are a little high but it depends on what you are used to.
Perhaps a replacement for my beautiful my benign Honda CB11000.

I was wondering the same thing. I am new rider and I am looking at this and the GS700. I was told the 700 would be a good first bike bc it handles well and power isn't to much etc. What would some downsides be if I bought this as a first bike?
No. Plus it is a mistake to buy low powered bikes just because one has little experience.
Buying a new bike when you don't have a lot of experience is not a good idea, imo. You're probably going to drop it and have a few mistakes in the first year. Instead of destroying something new and shiny, get something you're okay with using as a practice instrument first.
Then when you're skilled buy the shiny thing. That's my advice.

The popping and crackling is the reason why I'll never buy a BMW motorcycle. Sound ridiculous. Mighty be fun for 2 seconds after that it gets really old really fast.

I've been thinking of buying a new bike this year but haven't decided what to buy. I'm looking at this one (has to have a tach though), a Z900RS, or possibly a Ducati Monster (very lightweight). I don't need a ton of speed but with the R nineT I worry about dropping the bike on the engine. Do they make protectors for that?
