- Comparison between three BMW R nineT based motorcycles: the original, the R nineT Scrambler and the R nineT Racer.
They all feature the same air-cooled boxer engine, same frame, same old-school character. But they are quite different.
The review includes a handling test, a braking test and our riding impressions after running both in and outside the city.

well i'm new to the channel since i subscribed directly after watching this video and there are two things that i like about your video are first is comparing the bikes and mentioning the diffantes options of the bikes the second one is a guess which is that you were giving your opinions spontaneously (like without a script )

Great video guys and especially love the blooper at 14:25. That cracked me up too. I voted for the R9T also and bought one in November of last year because of the better equipment it comes with with. That's very important to me since I think it's essential to start off with a good platform for future customizing. I love my R9T classic and will have it for ma long time.

Also, great are the no frills, to the point impressions the three of you offer on the bikes you road.
I am in the search for a R9T and have only ridden the Pure so far. The Scrambler si due next but I am concerned that the tires and suspension may not be to my liking. Have read some negative commentary on that.
I like the seat position on the Scrambler and wonder if the Urban G/S isn't the better choice. But, it may be too high for me (I am 178cm or 5'10").
Any thoughts here, on that?
NB: I will be riding on windy roads, mostly south of the 100km mark (in Germany).

I love the styling of these motorcycles ,props to Bmw for making such nice machines, would love having the Racer next to my r6r.
I love the appearance of the Racer but would go for the original for the high end parts and riding position. Great content guys, keep it coming!
Love this review, great English too. I sorely wish I lived in such a beautiful place. I have long been a fan of the r9t and the 2021 models look nicer than ever. I recently bought a Ducati Scambler and commute for 40 minutes through central Paris and outskirts and the Ducati seems as good as it can get for the purposes, with the exception of the first to neutral issues, but...I am tempted to switch to the r9t this year just because it is such an amazing , well made and reliable machine. I spend half the time filtering and I'm concerned that the extra weight and width of the R9t would be a handicap. What is your view? As a final thought, I think I'd go for the classic r9t or maybe even the Pure, with some upgrades.

Great video guy well done ..... is there much in the seating position between the scrambler and the R9T as the scrambler looks a bit higher up

Beautiful bikes for fun, fuss free riding without chains to adjust or oil. Had 2 BMW'S R80GS in the 80s and R100GS. R80GS was the best all-round bike I owned.

I really need to take these for a test ride! Recently rode the 2020 R1250RS and loved that to bits, got the video review up on my channel, you can tell with the fun factor on it! But yeah, I'd love to test all of these machines!! In due course!!

looks wise i wld go for the racer. But the pragmatic side of me wld choose the standard cos of the better equipment & dashboard.
Awesome video! These guys answered to all the questions I had in my mind. It is strange that the dashboard does not show the current gear (pure, scrambler) or the fuel level (in all 3 bikes).
The standard wheels on the Scrambler are fine. I'd spend money on a main stand from sw-motech.
I'd like a Scrambler.

Great comparison! Now if you would be able to the same with the (Ducati) Scrambler versions, as well as the bonnies, and pick a winner between them. Would be very interesting!
I would consider the sportclassics series too which Ducati released in 2006/2007.

Handling is when you are in 3rd or 4th gear with wide open throttle and leaned over as far as she will go. Does it wobble or not?
The slow speed fake handling test they did here is useless.
I'd get the Urban GS 😎
