David's sheer delight at seeing Davros is so wholesome.
Pleasure to see you here tharries
Eyyyy Tharries!
I would be the same! We all love davros he scared me as a child in the late 70s and 80s and now he is possibly the greatest Dr who Villan
makes his acting all the more genuine when it comes through with the passion he displays. He knows the extent of davros and can push the intended emotional weight
Yes. That was a great moment for him 😊
David's face is priceless, he's such a perfect person to play the doctor!
That's also how I felt with Capaldi's second and third season when he was able to just let loose. He was like a kid in a candy shop
I love how david and peter c are such huge fan boys who know all the aliens and characters.
@@Altmetalpunk I also felt that way with Matt Smith as well.
That reveal was awesome, the first time I saw it. Everyone did a great job. Made an already iconic character even better.
RTD many many years after writing this masterpiece "And I saw a problem with that" -_-
David Tennant being an absolute fan boy and I LOVE it! 😂
"The great space dustbin, HOW DOES IT FEEL?"
"Fine, thanks, very comfortable."
The fact that Davros was one of David’s favorite villains was definitely helpful in motivating the production crew and Julian Bleach in making the best modernized version of him.
I love that in the world of work, even for making TV shows and film, you can have "Show and Tell" sessions like we did back in school.
JUST LOOK at the ecstatic love for Davros' mere presence in the room. How on earth could this considered offensive? The love for this character is immense. How dare they decide do ditch this iconic design forever.
I love Julian and David making polite small talk out of character. Obviously, we know rationally that these are actors only pretending to be people who dislike each other, but it's still very sweet when an actor who plays a really bad guy is a really pleasant person in real life.
I'm still in awe of David Tennant... Deciding to become an actor to play that role, and then actually playing that role! 🤯
Then to go on to become a fan favorite, marry the daughter of his favorite Doctor, come back for the 50th, and then come back AGAIN for the 60th… David is the epitome of “dreams really can come true”
Ever since he was hinted back in 2005's "Dalek" I was eagerly awaiting Davros' return. Needless to say, his arrival onto the scene did not disappoint 😊
I remember being very very excited For this DW Confidential episode. Seeing talking about Davros was exciting indeed
I remember watching Davros's big reveal when it first aired, so cool 😎
i never realized how comfy it must be acting as Davros, you get to sit on a moving chair, you only have to only move one arm around, wish I had this acting role
The amount of makeup would drive one insane doing it for to long one would need to have a good mind to get use to it once it ht would hit like hour 8 or so.
Guess what emotional and heartbreaking episode I’m rewatching tonight.
Love and monsters???? Lmao
Not even close. Try again. I said heartbreaking and emotional. So heartbreaking and emotional that I actually cried for hours afterwards
@@OnlineFanBoy I cried after love and monsters… but in all seriousness I’d say journeys end and if not doomsday, both great episodes
Still not that one. The episode I’m watching is even more heartbreaking then that. You should know what I’m talking about. Unless you forgot the Doctor.
@@OnlineFanBoy I would think the end of time pt 2 then but if not I’m not sure it’s been a while since I’ve watched them all and since they’ve been taken off prime I don’t really have anywhere to watch. This might just make me have a re watch after buying the dvds
I love how david and peter c are such huge fan boys who know all the aliens and characters.
That's why David Tennant was such a great Doctor, he was such a fan of the show and he brought that every day and RESPECTED the show and the past canon of the show.
God I loved Doctor Who at this point! Sadly, this iconic design is now in the dustbin. So angry about this.
When I heard Davros was returning WAY back in 2008, I presumed it would be Terry Molloy reprising the role since he played Davros onscreen more times than any of the other actors. I was a little disappointed but nevertheless Julian Bleach did a terrific job and his performance as Davros is quite reminiscent of Michael Wisher’s (the original Davros actor). 😊👍
Luckily Terry is still playing davros on audio, and bringing 110% to every performance. I hope he returns to the show one day!
I wasnt scared of much as a kid but Davros freaked me out. I love when he see Sarah Jane again.
Totally understandable. There are scarier-looking Who villains, but Davros has such absolute menace!
@@Treffaut destroying reality is pretty bad, even the worst comic book villians were tame in comparison.
all I needed to hear was his voice to know that it was davros
Doctor "How does it feel?"
Davros "Fine thanks. Ya, very comfortable."
I remember hearing of Davros's first return and avoided all social media and newspaper so I could enjoy the moment upon the TV screen only for my mother to say "son have seen this" showing me a full page in the mirror of davros 🤦♂️ it was days before the episode aired
Mothers.
My favorite part in all this is not only David's reaction, but it's the phone he's using to take pictures and its like wow this episode really was a long time 😂
Tennant and Capaldi are such fans
Watching David fan boy over things gives me life
Season 3 and season 4 are the most emotionally strong and best seasons so far. Now we have seasons 8,9,10,11,12 are also best.
Yes, Jo Grant (Seasons 8-10) and Sarah Jane Smith (Seasons 11-14) are definitely among the most popular companions of all time. Not entirely sure why you stopped so early, though, I must say.
(It’s also very hard judging Seasons 3 and 4 as so much of them is missing from the archives!)
Oh do you mean series instead of season?
Great episode!
Seeing Davros in full regalia saying "Fine thanks...very comfortable" in a northern accent is a joy to behold!!
"fine thanks" was sooo cool.
David looks very very happy
God, those were the days!
Davros seems a lot like Emperor Palpatine. I know that Davros originally appeared in the 70s, but was the similarity already so great that The Emperor could be said to have copied him rather than vice versa?
Old, wizened sometimes blind mad scientists have been around a while. Pulop SF magazines have them as far back as the 1920s. Arguably the false appearance of the Wizard of Oz as a green, bald, bodiless head is a prototype.
They are both based on Adolf Hitler. The Daleks and Imperial Stormtroopers are also based on the Nazi SS.
I remember when this first came out. The 10th regeneration series seemed to be all about bringing all of the "what if" situations into fruition. Like the Cybermen vs the Daleks.
Does anyone else wanna hear Davros reveal himself and then say "What up bitches!" Or is it just me?
He's not the Joker. That's something he would say (and has said).
@@Rocket1377 I know but I'd just find it funny with him saying it while in the chair
Julian bleach is awesome
Confidential needs to be put on BBC Iplayer asap
I'm a decades long fan this incarnation is a top 3 Davros
Why do I keep expecting Davros to start telling the Doctor the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?
I love it!!!
Absolutely epix
And now RTD is saying ‘a villain in a wheelchair is problematic’. Absolutely no one had a problem with Davros being a villain and in life support. Goodness me, removing his iconic design for a political stance on an ‘issue’ no one had a problem with? I’m worried
I’m curious on what he can do out of the chair though let’s see.
@@Oldmangamess agreed. I’m happy to see Davros out of the chair and explore with it, but not at the expense of completely rewriting the villain - should be a prequel to his newer self. I’d like to see more about how he became the villain we know and love
Davies made such a ridiculous statement, expected better from him
@@phantomsidious2934 "expected better from him"
You really shouldn't have. He has always been a smug and self-congratulatory virtue signaler.
So far, the only appearance of this new non-crippled Davros has only been in a scene that could conceivably be Davros pre-crippling, so I'm holding out some amount of hope that the retcon won't be completely canon-defying bosh.
One possibility is we explore more of Davros's early career, though the trouble there is that he can't know too much about space or the Doctor if we wanna stay true to Genesis of the Daleks. Another possibility is that young Davros is going to somehow be temporally displaced and create an entire alternate Davros who never got crippled, now that original Davros's story has ended (I do think that Witch's Familiar was a good ending for the character, what with his final conversation and final battle of wits with the Doctor).
Davros is the best character
Buzzfeed unsolved music ayyy
i know the Daleks are back in the new series but really, we need this guy back too.... it'd be great to have a story or two parter with him in.
Magicians Apprentice and Witches familiar. Peter Capaldi’s second season. Davros is in both episodes
@@TomH24297 yes I know, but I'm talking about the new series that's coming up after these new specials with Tennant, the series with Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor that's being filmed now.
Is doctor who confidential coming to iplayer
💚💜💙💚💜
Grandmaster
And now they want to ruin one of the greatest sci fi villains in history.
How did he get his third eye? I havent seen all the old Whos but in the episode where he was a child he didnt have it.
It's cybernetic. Never been explained in the show, but presumably he had it made when he lost his sight and the use of his legs, just like the chair. Modern Dr Who stupidly "revealed" that his eyes still work, so the third eye now seems a bit pointless.
@@Rocket1377 It is stupid for his original eyes to still work, but maybe he just prefers using the robotic eye he created?

I thought the reveal that Donna’s dad Geoffrey wasn’t dead but instead absorbed by Davros made Donna landing the final blow all the more tragic
huh?
What??
Me when I lie
@@Spartan-Hawk Yeah don’t you remember? Donna landed the final blow
And Silvia being an Auton duplicate spying on the Doctor
This didn't age well.
sorry my englishe is very crazy i am estonia
is stavros a fearsome robotic, or is stavros a man?
Opinions differ, Arvo. He was clearly at some point in his life very, very ill, disabled through the loss of his legs, and other organs of his body went into a catastrophe of disease and severe and painful illnesses, until he managed to design his special Chair, which has life support properties and can protect him from death and illnesses, as well as from strange and fatal sickness. Some say he became so ill with implants and brain and body malfunctions, that he forgot that he had once been humanoid, and became completely crazed, deranged and suffused with mental health issues, problems and such like. Others deny this, and say that he is still Stavros. It's up to you to decide on the evidence of the texts themselves. Do they translate it into Estonian for people? Kind regards.
Okay... what's this teasing 🤔🤔🤔
Is Phil Collinson the Phil Collins' son? 😉
Yeah except everyone saw it coming and it was in the trailers.
Wait Doctor who is a tv show and not real. 😭😭
Is Emperor Palpatine a davros rip-off?
They’re quite different characters davros being a mad scientist and Palpatine being an evil wizard their only similarities are that they are at the top of their respective empires but even then davros doesn’t control the daleks anymore
They do resemble one another 3:51
Davros came first by several years. The emperor we know and love was not perfected until Return of the Jedi. In a New Hope there are indications that elements of an earlier script are still present and the character is not yet defined. In a New Hope the Emperor was just a regular politician that was little more than a puppet controlled by the regional governors (Or Moffs). This is indicated when he gave power to each governor to run their sectors as they saw fit. In Empire Strikes Back the Emperor is now a force user and is some kind of Alien creature with Bulging eyes (I'm talking about the original version of the film). In the last movie is when Palpatine is Palpatine as he is known today.
First here
omg first❤
Unfortunately not
Oh okay…..
Never understand the excitement of “first” however how can you claim “Unfortunately not” when you must have read the guy claiming “first” first.
Please don’t bother to reply, thanks in advance.
