- Yes time to fly the dreaded Blade 330s!! Lots of people message me regarding the Blade 330s, mostly suffering from terrible left drift and also sometimes they can't take off properly because the Heli leans around. My Blade 330s flies well now as a result of the changes I have made using forward programming to the attitude trim settings!! I love this Heli and if you make it to the second half of the video you will see how fast it is in a straight line!! I always offer to help people with their problems but sometimes it can be difficult over UA-cam to sort issues out.
Thanks again to you both...great video. We've spoken in messages before... My 330s was a bit of a pickle out of the box...drifting,etc. After following your videos on swash levelling and attitude trim/calibration...happy to say I've now had over 10 enjoyable flights from mine. From HATE to LOVE.... once again, thank you for your time and advice/information.

Hi Ian…. Taming of the beast !!! Looks like you have achieved this really well…. I love the fact you fly circuits with your helis…. I will eventually get back into helis and try to progress into bigger ones as I can afford it … no doubt will need your advice then …. Thanks Michael, it can still play up a little bit!! But I've learnt how to police it now!! It was perfect in the first flight but on the second if you notice I kept it hovering by the take off board, that's because it had a bit of left drift but after a minute it cleared and then flew very well, Helie's are great but it's a very steep learning curve!! But being able to fly fixed wing does help 😀👍
Well it isn't the dreaded 330S when you fly it Ian! You really have it figured out and make that heli look good. I totally get how hard it is to help people in the comment section of YT or e mails. You never know their skill level is or what kind of resources (capabilities in the shop) they have at their disposal. It is however truly gratifying when someone like Kevin Duck tells you how much you've helped them. Really good of you Ian. Man you make it look good...that sucker is fast when you really wind her up! You surprised Cheryl, but she stayed with it!

GM & sad words to hear but you did your best with what you had , confidence wains & ive had that in a 130s , now its gutted & sitting on a tall 30 ft pole on ball bearings as my weather vane. You did awesome, dont you worry. Another 230s / MH 300 Osage refresher Flight would be super. 👍

Hey Ian. 330 still looking and sounding great. 😂😂 70 odd comments, tells its own story about this Heli. I had the 230 and 150 out the other day after quite a long time due to flying fixed wing. You're right about losing Heli fingers, I also forgot just how fast the little 150 is. In other news I had my first midair on Saturday 🙄 Two planes went up, many many pieces came down! Total write off along with the Acrowot that I collided with. Its amazing how in all that space two planes can line up perfectly and become one 😁
Yes Paul HH still sell it and it still plays up Lol Sounds like your having a Smashing time 😒 flying fixed wing, but crashes are inevitable, planes and Helie's are different thumbs Lol and it doesn't take long to get rusty 😀👍

Man you make this look so easy. I managed one battery out of my 230 and have gotten 30 ft since and broke 2 sets of blade grips.
Yes they take some flying do model Helicopters!! Stick with it though and it will get easier!! Thanks for watching and commenting 😀👍

Well the weather in Cornwall is usually nice but the UK is famous for having four seasons of weather in one day!! So pack an umbrella!! But I hope the weather is kind to you so as you can have a great time 😀👍
@@IansRCExploits thanks Ian and im starting to think that HH is just going to ship me a new copter when they have it in stock and not even try to fix or test mine that i sent so im going to have to check everything over like in all your vids and do this myself. I went threw this with my miss geico 36 bc that had engine that was messed up and 9 months later they just sent me a new one. They dont test or care anymore HH has become so big in America they play the game of caring but dont. So when i get mine back i will be watchin your vids again. I know HH behavior all to well anymore
Yes I think they have got to big for their boots!! They have bought up all the brands like E-flite,Blade, Hangar 9 and Arrma!! It's a shame as Blade Helie's are made by E-flite who's products are usually pretty good, let's hope they send you a decent 330s it is a great Heli once you get it flying correctly 😀👍
I have the smaller sibling of this, the 230S and absolutely CANNOT trust the panic mode. Sometimes, if you press the panic button after a few minutes of flying, it flips on it's side. Almost like the gyro's idea of "straight and level" has deviated significantly. It doesn't do this immediately after takeoff, only after a few minutes of flying.
Hi Robby, a lot of pilots have had trouble with their 230s, I have one too!! But from new I had a bit of drift so I performed a trim flight and it's been spot on ever since, sadly as with its bigger brother the 330s it seems to be the luck of the draw, but quite often they're very bad usually resulting in crashes!! Horizon Hobby over the years have seemed to do nothing about these issues!! Have you tried to do a trim flight? Thanks for watching and commenting 😀👍

Am also a Fan of the Blade 330s ( not a very good pilot; but a fan of the aircraft none the less ( and owner )) I enjoy watching your experienced with the Blade 330s. For me, very educational. I recently became the owner of the Blade Fusion 360 Smart Heli. Was wondering if you have had any experiences with this model or heard from other pilots that may also own this model.

Hi Joseph, I haven't had any experience of the Blade 360 fusion!! Unfortunately I have heard from some pilots who have experienced the same drift problems when the Heli is in SAFE mode!! Because the Heli still uses the FC6250HX controller, the issues can still be the same as the 330s, one guy I spoke to was told by Horizon Hobby to do the latest firmware upgrade, He did this and the Heli still performed badly!! I haven't heard from that many 360 owners, just a few!! I think it's a bit of a mixed bag, some people having issues and others none at all. I have used the FC6250HX controller on two of my Trex Helie's and have found that these perform better than the one that comes on the 330s!! What I have noticed is that after flying them for a while, they start to drift and perform badly on take off, I found that if you re calibrate the Gyro making sure the Heli is perfectly level this helps!! I still think the problem is caused in SAFE mode by the attitude trim settings!! I have learnt that the swash plate does need a bit of left dialed in to counteract the tourqe of the main blades but nowhere near as much as is set from the factory!! I'm sure your 360 will be fine!! If when you spool up your Heli starts leaning around, I would be very reluctant to carry on with the flight!! As I have found from other pilots that this is when the Heli can go into a bad left drift, I really hope you don't have any of these issues and enjoy flying your new Heli!! It might be worth having a search on some Heli forums to see if or what problems people are experiencing!! Thanks for the message Joseph and a Happy New Year to you 😀👍

Thank You for your response. I will be following your advice and check the forums for additional experiences from other pilots. There are quite a few You Tube videos out there for this Helicopter but haven't found any with negative reviews. Checking the forums for more information is a good idea. I think I am going to document the FC6250HX Settings before doing a Maiden and before making any changes. I did take a quick look at the main blades to check where they are at Center Stick and discovered they were close but could use some adjustment. Just trying to check the status of the heli as I received it before doing much of anything with it. Thank you again for your thoughts and suggestions. Wishing you and your family the best for 2023!

Yes I do fly with SAFE on!! When I fly without SAFE I have it so I can flick the flight mode switch straight back into SAFE if I get into difficulty!! Thanks for watching and commenting 😀👍

I don't think Horizon Hobby have sorted the issue with the Gyro out, the Heli itself is fantastic but the FC6250HX Gyro that it ships with is a bit problematic!! Some people seem to have no issues but lots of people do and lots of crashes to!! As for me it started OK then crashed got sent back and supposedly fixed, but it started playing up again and has taken me a long time.e to sort out!! It's all on my channel if your interested 😀👍
In my case, the Blade 330 severe drift in SAFE mode, which gets progressively worse after a few seconds of using it, was caused by excessive vibrations confusing the gyro. While bench testing w/o blades, the swashhplate in SAFE would progressively lean more and more even when the heli was level. After some vibration troubleshooting, I got my tail blades back in balance, and all the SAFE drift problems went away.
Well that's brilliant that you were able to sort it out by just balancing the blades, it has been a very problematic Heli for people!! And Horizon have failed a lot of people!! Which is a shame, as once it's flying well its a great model Helicopter!! Thanks for watching and commenting 😀👍
I finally got mine to behave somewhat after replacing the flight controller. Much better. It was un flyable before. Even still, sometimes it has almost no drift. Sometimes it pulls HARD to the right. I messed with attitude trim some more and for now it has some manageable left drift.

@@jakelang4387 I chucked the first one. Got it replaced with another 6250 which is much better. My first 6250 would EXPLODE into full throttle out of nowhere also. Scary.
What I don't understand is that it only seems to affect the Gyro's on the 330s if you buy an open stock one they work fine!! So it must be to do with the settings they put into it at the factory 🤔

the helis are cheap, the parts however are way overpriced in comparison to others.
I don't understand. I have it on safe mode but it's still drifting off to the right and I trim it left and have to hold the cyclic left...
This is the age old problem with the 330s Corek!! It's to do with the attitude settings, adjusting the trims on the transmitter will only make it worse!! I will link my videos on how myself and other pilots sorted these issues out, but it doesn't work for everyone 😒

Mine flies good out of box except when I try to use safe mode. When safe mode is activated heli wants to drift hard to the left for some reason. Tried messing with attitude adjustment to no avail. I just deactivate safe mode and fly it regularly.
It's strange!! So many issues, mine crashed after I took off in flight mode one!! Just drifted out of control 😒
@@IansRCExploits Yea from all the research I've done tons of people have issues with their helis. The flight controller is the problem. Its not very good. 😒
That's what I don't understand I have the Spektrum FC6250HX on two of my Align Helies and it works very well, must be Horizon Hobbyies settings.
@@IansRCExploits I also have 6250hx on my Kraken 700 and Logo 700. Bailout works fine, heli flies good, but the safe mode just sucks. I ruined a set of main blades on the kraken 700 trying to launch heli in safe. Heli tilted to left spooling up and blades struck ground. Then second time I activated safe while heli was in air and it drifted left. I had to counter with full right just to keep it level. I tried everything I could try to fix the issue, recalibrate 6250hx, tinker with settings, nothing worked. So my conclusion is Safe Mode feature sucks ass in this receiver. If you don't use safe it flies great.
That's why now I use the Microbeast plus 😀👍

Mine had a drift, i did a leveled calibration and it fixed it
Unfortunately a lot of guys get such a severe drift that the Heli crashes!! As I said In the video I get messaged a lot about the 330s, you and I are the lucky ones because we can fly our Helie's 😀👍

@@IansRCExploits I'm surprised, because I had the previous Nano S1, 150S, and 230S, all were supurb models. Then later I saw lots and lots of bad reviews on the Nano S2, some on the 150S. Seems like they should have stuck with thier original excellent designs.
I made mine into a old blade 450 just threw the 6250hx in the trash and put a micro beast on it. Done. I have a Aligne 650x with same issues. So when I rebuild it I’ll do the same. I got sick of it flying good some days and some it just being trash
