    I make lures for a living and have often thought of making a stripper plug that could be filled with chum or oil....what are your thoughts?

      ram chua it's walkable. They use bikes to chase the bite. That and the canal is 3 miles long

    can you use cut bait, none of my rods are built for plugging or casting lures in general

    • @tlfu6836
      @tlfu6836 5 років тому +2

      It would be difficult to fish cut bait. You'd need a lot of weight to hold the bottom in that current, and you'd probably piss off the people around you because your weighted bait would be stationary and the people casting lures up current of you would keep drifting across your line.

    • @brendanwoerner3352
      @brendanwoerner3352 5 років тому

      Zayd Shah as the other guy said plan on fishing between 5/6ounces minimum up to 12 or more with the current ripping over 9knots according to the shimano rep in the show.

    • @zaydshah8248
      @zaydshah8248 5 років тому

      @@brendanwoerner3352what about is the tide was slow, or if I used live bait like mackeral for example, how would I fish that? so basically bait fishing would be a bad idea

  • @savanngim4826

    What didn't they just build the canal straight like the Panama canal? Wouldn't it be easier?

    • @OnTheWaterMedia
      @OnTheWaterMedia  6 років тому +1

      The west end follows an old river that ran most of the length of the canal up to the herring run. They dredged and widened the old river and then dug through the dunes where the east end connects to Cape Cod Bay now.

    Since when are you supposed to do this up and down motion while reeling in? Every time he does that he takes the pressure off of the line for a second. One good head shake and the fish is off

    • @jamesmatkowski33
      @jamesmatkowski33 6 років тому +1

      bassmaster 401 there is pressure with the reeling. That's how he gains line on the fish. If not that same headshake in that current would be snapping either line or rod. Notice no reeling on the pull back. Imo anyway

    • @Pantallideth94
      @Pantallideth94 6 років тому +1

      James Matkowski i can see moments where the rod isn't bent and the reel isn't turning. It's not likely the fish will come off but it's just a chance I don't take.

    • @ryanbonamici9996
      @ryanbonamici9996 6 років тому

    most of the fishermen turn the fish back is it a law?

    • @davedarosa9949
      @davedarosa9949 6 років тому

      Miliari Abdel Aziz you can keep one per person if you have a license. And the fish have to be at least 28 inches long.

    • @donaldtouma2612
      @donaldtouma2612 5 років тому

      And if you catch a second fish that is over 40 inches after that first legal fish that has to be 28 inches, you can keep that 40 incher as well.
