    Finally people are realizing that you can put a vertical grip on a "pistol" if it meets the overall length. Once a pistol is over 26" it is no longer concealable, reclassifying it as a firearm.

      So does that measurement start at the end of the buffer tube and end at the last thread on the barrel or The end of my brace to the end of my muzzle device?

    • @JakeAnthony98

      Ken I’d just do thread of barrel to buffer tube just to be safe.

      how can this be so, when they clearly state that, "adding a vertical fore-grip to a handgun, creates an AOW, and is subject to NFA regulations." Their letter mentions no requirement for length. They state that taking a handgun and adding a vertical fore-grip, you have redesigned the weapons to be fired with two hands.

      You obviously don't have a clue what the constitution is or what the second amendment means.
      This is not a "sport", this is keeping Americas real militia trained and prepared to overthrow a tyrannical government, which is what we have. 2a allows the public to protect themselves and their own families, friends, neighbors etc. Armed citizens stop 400% more violent crimes than police do. Not to mention, cops are nothing more than uniformed thugs. If all you want are armed uniformed thugs ruling this country than keep your mindset as is.

      ijh - Nope...those who register MUST retain bullet button and can retain "evil features"...those who DON'T register and KEEP evil features MUST use a form of the available "magazine locks" that require top loading or replacing magazine by breaking apart action...there is also the magazine loader which feeds fresh rounds thru the ejection port. Finally there is featureless, non registered...fixed stock, muzzle break, no pistol grip and no forward pistol grip...but you MAY replace bullet button with regular mag release

    • @roncterry
      @roncterry 5 років тому

      FYI, if you are going with the SBM4 pistol brace like Lucas has you can use the Leapers UTG AR pistol extended receiver tube with a 10.5” barrel and you will meet the 26” OAL requirement (it’s longer than a traditional pistol buffer tube). I think you might also be able to do the same with a SBA3 adjustable pistol brace if you use the Vltor A5 system like Mike has. The Vltor receiver extension is about 1” longer than a traditional carbine receiver extension. That extra 1’ might be enough to get you to 26” OAL with a 10.5” barrel but will get you there for sure with a 11.5” barrel.

      T.REX ARMS - It was pretty much a commercial for the RAS47 by Patrick where he talked about how good the rifle was and never mentioned a single draw back like the fact that many critical parts of the rifle are assembled from cast parts. To sum up the comments section for you, these were more or less what they were. "You're a Shill, sellout, how dare you tell people to buy a hand grenade, worst gun ever you suck" .... pretty much like that.

    interesting fact: Eugene Stoner original want a forward assist and it was only at the demand of the Army that it added and redesignated the M16A1. The reason Stone was against the forward assist was that if the bullet didn't chamber properly it could mean that there is an obstruction in the chamber and trying to force the bolt into battery could cause damage to the rifle. The more you know

    • @Excalibur01
      @Excalibur01 7 років тому

      Which is why a lot of the "later gen" rifles either don't have a forward assist or it's integrated into the charging handle

    • @JD92205
      @JD92205 7 років тому

      Excalibur01 on civilian rifles sure, but the military still insists on having a forward assist for some reason. Military intelligence

    • @Excalibur01
      @Excalibur01 7 років тому

      I'm talking about other guns, not strictly the AR series. The SCAR doesn't have a separate forward assist because the charging handle reciprocates.
      Forward assist on the M16 series is really an American thing. Other main stream guns like the G36, Tavors, all the H&K roller delay guns, the Bren, even the L85 does not have a separate forward assist button like the AR series
      Even a lot of the AR-10 types the US military uses don't have forward assists.

    • @JD92205

      The only thing the FA is good for IMO is doing a silent charge. Basically if you down wanna make all the noise of racking the charging handle for whatever reason, you can really quietly pull the handle slowly ana walk it back and then press the FA to put the bolt in battery.

      MP SPORT IS A PRETTY GOOD ENTRY LEVEL RIFLE. THE HOLOSUN ON THE OTHER HAND IS COMPLETE GARBAGE. SELL IT ON EBAY AND BUY AN OLD BEAT UP AIMPOINT COMP M2 FROM A MILITARY SURPLUS VENDOR ON EBAY FOR $250 IF YOU CANT AFFORD A $500 EOTECH OR AIMPOINT. EVEN IF THAT THING IS BEAT TO SHIT IT WILL STILL RUN UNTIL THE WORLD ENDS.

    • @jreezy70
      @jreezy70 7 років тому +4

      Paul Barclay well, I made my comment as a joke about how advanced their conversation was, but ok. It's less about being able to afford it and more about justifying spending $500 on any optic for a sporting rifle that basically will be for range use, target practice, etc. Not everyone is runnin and gunnin with $2-$3k set ups. I guess time will tell on the Holosun but so far it's pretty awesome.

    • @paulbarclay4114
      @paulbarclay4114 7 років тому

      like i said-you can get an older used aimpoint comp m2 on ebay that is military surplus for $230. I have one, and im speaking from experinece. I have aimpoints, acogs, trijicons, etc, and my 15 year old beat up comp m2 will run with any of them. You dont want "time to tell" with your holosun, because when it breaks you cant sell it. If you use it, it will break. Its just a matter of time. Those things are low quality. They are not military grade. Your SW MP2 is not a high end ar15, but its a good reliable ar15 that will do whatever you need it to do. the same cannot be said about your optic.
      The entire point of having a rifle is for self defense, etc, regardless of using it at the range-and for self defense you need something you can bet your life on. I wouldnt bet my life on a holosun.

    Thanks for making me feel better about running the forward assist on my Ruger 556. I passed up on some other budget rifles because they didn't have one. Honestly, I wasn't sure why I needed one at time of purchase but, I didn't want to find out later that I should have got a rifle with one on it. Base rifle before optics and any upgrades was $615 out the door so why the hell not? I love the damned rifle, it's more accurate than I am. Maniac742 does the flash hider have to be pinned and welded for him to be able to have the vert grip? Or does over all length defeat that over all? Can't say for sure, but pinning and welding would be the safest bet if you want to add a VFG. Given that flashiders and muzzle devices only count towards a barrel or gun's overall length when pinned and welded for rifles for NFA purposes, I'd have to assume the same is true with AR pistols.
